I've always wanted this since I heard this song. But it seems Annie's style of music is significantly different than it used to be, so I don't see this ever happening. But of all the album titles I've heard pitched for this theoretical collaboration, "Annie Drew A Bird" is my favorite.
Andrew Bird] If your loose and libel lips Keep sinking all my ships Then you're the one who sank my Lusitania But somehow it don't register as pain at all Till it finds your crooked vein It should help us not remember the Maine You're laying mines along your shore Through my hull it ripped and tore We don't study this war no more [Annie Clark] So we let our back bones slip Till the arc spits from our fingertips And we'll become a hazard in the rain Oh and we'll get charged out in the rain There's a sixty-cycle hum Go ahead say something dumb Boy there's no shame [Annie Clark and Andrew Bird] There's no shame Go ahead say something dumb boy There's no shame You're laying mines along your shore Through my hull it ripped and tore We don't study this war no more
room acoustics and production on the stage steal from the quality of his voice (and hers). radio paradise turned me on. i'm in :) thanks you Andrew (and Annie)
Wow , play that geetar Annie you virtuoso you ! If she was advanced enough to arpegiate the chord while playing a 32nd note tremolo on the top strings like uncle Tuck that'd be great . That takes a little work to master though .
I should have known these two had played together.... Now if they'd just do humanity a favor, make babies, and thereby start a musical master race to lead us into sonic utopia!
That's great. Andrew Bird was on TED a while back; he did a lot of cool sound looping. www.ted.com/talks/andrew_bird_s_one_man_orchestra_of_the_imagination
Audrey Wallis yeah, I've seen him a couple times, with band... Everyone had a looper, by the end of most songs it sounded like he had an orchestra with him.
I read it in an article a while back, which I'll do my best to find, but there's this article that mentions his becoming a father: bit.ly slash VP3uQF Also, in the video released with Break It Yourself, you can see he's wearing what appears to be a wedding ring, which would corroborate the information I read in the article I need to find. Bird guards his privacy more than most, so finding information on this is extremely difficult. As soon as I find the article, I'll post the link....
hey Andrew, as a heads up, try any wines by "Orin Swift". The makers of this wine are big fans of yours! They're the ones that told me about you. Now I'm a fan too!
That child would have the most beautiful voice and the messiest hair.
yes please
Annie's smile of satisfaction as they finish the song, this is pure music.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
an album credited to "Andrew Bird & St. Vincent" needs to happen some time soon
Saint Bird
Tal vez ahora Annie haga un álbum con Dua Lipa. La fama no le ha sentado bien.

She, literally, made me take a deep breath, I'm not kidding. She's breathtaking.
I want these two voices together more often. Just gorgeous. I'm disappointed I never got to see this live.
This sounds much better than the album recording. They are amazing singers.
Love them both, Andrew and Annie.
This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written
Two amazing humans.
"One more amazing than the other"- Andrew Bird
Andrew Bird]
If your loose and libel lips
Keep sinking all my ships
Then you're the one who sank my Lusitania
But somehow it don't register as pain at all
Till it finds your crooked vein
It should help us not remember the Maine
You're laying mines along your shore
Through my hull it ripped and tore
We don't study this war no more
[Annie Clark]
So we let our back bones slip
Till the arc spits from our fingertips
And we'll become a hazard in the rain
Oh and we'll get charged out in the rain
There's a sixty-cycle hum
Go ahead say something dumb
Boy there's no shame
[Annie Clark and Andrew Bird]
There's no shame
Go ahead say something dumb boy
There's no shame
You're laying mines along your shore
Through my hull it ripped and tore
We don't study this war no more
oh, mister Bird. You bring me to places i've ever thought that existed, thank you!
So beautiful. You can see Annie hold back in the harmony,
Ya. She's good at it since you should never take the attention away from the lead singer if you're harmonizing.
I like how it flows from practice to performance. Very nice ☺
mrmanagain it LITERALLY DID THAT oh my god
Omg. Tearing up it’s so good.
From 2:25 on, what a treat! Andrew Bird is phenomenal live, and St. Vincent is lovely in this, too. Beautiful.
Like the intimate setting switching to the on stage performance. You both sound great together.
0:46 ohhhhh ohhh whoooooo wheeeeewww beauuuutiful
Oh look, Andrew Bird and an angel who plays guitar and sings like God.
James Mercer from the shins and Andrew bird need to collaborate. That duo would be magic

Their harmonies are beyond sublime. Aural heaven.

Oh, and the whistling:)
Nothing but praise from me
Gahhh it's just so perfect.
He's amazing.
annie clark is definition of perfection.
God Damnit, So GOOD!
I love how in the live part there's complete silence from the audience! lol
This is truly beautiful
Please please please please release this on DVD! I've seen it at a festival and it's truly wonderful.
The purity of the expression
Your music deserves a better place
Wish Laura Marling collaborated with Andrew.
That would be amazing
His music sounds so much nicer when live performing than on his records.
he kills it no matter the medium
room acoustics and production on the stage steal from the quality of his voice (and hers). radio paradise turned me on. i'm in :) thanks you Andrew (and Annie)

I will never do anything in my life so well as Andrew Bird whistles. So it goes!
Check out Andrew Bird's "The Whistling Caruso" from "The Muppets"
Great collaboration between two of my favorite artists!

This video i like the most. this video aint bland like toast.
The strumming sounds like night sky
I should have known these two had played together.... Now if they'd just do humanity a favor, make babies, and thereby start a musical master race to lead us into sonic utopia!

Much like Bill Callahan and Joanna Newsome should have made babies.
I think about it every day
recessive genes would have came out.

Random, but -I love hair- I love her hair. :D
I LOVE HAIR TOO. YOU'RE AWESOME.
Haha, I'm such an idiot. I meant to say her hair.
But your enthusiasm is awesome! :D
hey Andrew, as a heads up, try any wines by "Orin Swift". The makers of this wine are big fans of yours! They're the ones that told me about you. Now I'm a fan too!
Bird's already married and has a kid. I don't know to whom he is married, but it's a fact.
Isnt the melody of this song just a slow version to the theme song to the Golden Girls "Thank you for being a friend"
wow didnt know they had a collab
Sadly, it doesn't appear as though that will happen - there's information at andrewbirdfeveryeardotwordpressdotcom
His artistry is up there with Wilco's 2003 album and artistry
please tell me this song is about the sinking of the ship lusithania that led to american involvement in world war 1
Dammit put the DVD out.
Not to myself 11 years ago: they finally did!
Annie and Andy sitting in a tree, S-I-N-G-I-N-G
aaaaah! create an album or just procreate genius people
Does this have something to Do with the sinking of the lusitania
After my son was born, I was an anxious new mom. I’d put this song on and look out the window while I breast fed him.
sleepy time time dream yes
whats the date of this?
I wish I could score a date with Annie. I really do.
Then again look how we blunders into this
'Crooked vein ' is a expression?
Nope
Does anyone know what kind of amp Annie used there? Andrew? =}
+Donna Loman If you're talking about the one on the bed the blue tolex looks like the same kind Ampeg uses on their reverb-o-rockets.
