Grumpy Silverback Gorilla deals with super annoying son
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- Oumbi is having a rest - well he is trying to - under the pavilion and making himself comfortable while Lope is being silly on the other side of the wall. Strutting his stuff, his face covered in wood wool. He does a little twist and beats his chest and then he goes to work on being the most annoying son he can be. He looks around the corner and stares at dad who tries hard to ignore him. Lope beats his chest again and bangs on the wall where his dad is leaning against. The second time he does it, Oumbi hits back at the wall as to say keep it down boy. Lope doesn't give up easily, so he does it again and again. When Lope does his spins and it gone quite Oumbi hits the wall with his fist, like he almost missed Lopes annoying antics. Look at Lope after his spins, he's just resting his head casually on his head lying down. Looking in dads direction and off he goes again. Than he tries a different method coming running from the other site. Oumbi beats his chest. The second time Lope comes round the other site is just so funny, he just pokes his head around the wall slowly and then the rascal throws a stick at dad and beats his chest! We would just love to know what Oumbi is thinking. Looking at his face now, he's starting to get more annoyed and waiting for his sons next move!

What amazes me most is how “human like” they seem. From the eyes, to the mannerisms. So wild!
totally, on those zooms on the silverback's eyes, you can sense the intelligence and emotion there. i actually feel uncomfortable watching gorillas at the zoo because it feels like such an invasion of their privacy. interestingly i don't feel that way with elephants, dolphins, etc, even though they've been shown to be about as intelligent or more. i think it's because the apes are so, so close to us that - as you point out - they actually share our mannerisms and even the looks in our eyes. so we can instinctively understand them in a way that we can't with more distantly related species.

This is what it looks like to me, actively being shouted and laughed at.
Humans are stoopid…not all, not all
@Queen Christopher The Merciful 🤴 Just go to one of the human zoos. I think they call them cities.
There needs to be a captive population... or else when they go extinct that's it they are gone forever. At least they keep a "breeding pool" in captive populations. As ugly as that might sound. But wild numbers are dropping fast... where can they even live anymore? And if they were born and raised in the zoo, they don't know that life can be any different than this. Zoos have to make money to support the animals. Sanctuaries do as well, and also allow visitors. How else can they pay to care for these animals?
Zoos are also important for that very reason, it makes the animal actually real to people, more than just a page on a book or an entry in an article or a simple picture, humans need to see the real thing to truly recognize the importance of these creatures, and not everyone can see them in their native range
OMG! The dad's eyes when he's looking thru the slats....soooo human! Probably thinking, "Have fun now son, in a little while you'll realize you're not free."

You touched it with a knife!
If i win the powerball one day ill open up a reservation and put a real lovable person in charge of the reservation. I dont know much about lowland gorillas but a researcher should plus theyll know whats ideal for a gorilla enclosure.
Agreed
What amazing animals! Their beautiful eyes. It is so hard to watch them, see how similar they are to us, and not feel sad about them being kept in the enclosure.
Many humans are also kept in enclosures with more harsh conditions than these gorilla enclosures.
And?
Animals, especially intelligent ones like gorillas, show very obvious signs of depression, psychosis, and maladaptation when they are unhappy. They don't carry around a secret depression to themselves while pretending to be okay, like humans do. If these gorillas were unhappy, it would be extremely obvious in their behavior. But the staff at this place goes to great lengths to make sure all the gorilla's natural instincts are accounted for and given suitable expression, also making sure the environment is enriched and stimulating. These gorillas are not unhappy. Some zoos and facilities are bad at it and they end up with gorillas that act out because they are unhappy, but that is the good thing: gorillas act out very obviously when they aren't being taken care of, and you would know.
@@tylerchambers6246 I didn't know this about them, thank you for sharing
@@Quareque And....that is sad as well.
There are many very well maintained zoos whose mission is conservation of endangered animals. Since all of these animals were born and raised in captivity, they are probably not longing for the jungle and depressed that they are in a zoo. In a good place, they are loved, cared for, fed regularly and have the benefit of medicine while never being under threat of poachers. I also agree that a lot of zoos should be shuttered and owners thrown in jail.

@@AirNeat its called a joke
@@AirNeat Gorillas absolutely make facial expressions, as do chimpanzees and orangutans, they have been documented and are associated with different social contexts: such as fear, playfulness, food, anger, plotting, sadness; as in needing comfort. Not only do they make facial expressions, they also recognize facial expressions from different primates: humans included. Because the musculature in their face is so complex they utilize facial expressions to communicate; same as humans, not to mention their use of vocalizations, physical contact, and even olfactory communication.

Why is it hard to see....they're now above us.....morally....they have a mom and a dad, not 2 dads or 2 moms, they raise their kids, obviously together, while we are reversing. So sad we are as the supposed higher intellect.
Then you are one of charles darwin apprentice who believes that we are from ape. Hehe. Stupidity

I’m nearly 20 and this is still me with my parents 😂

Truly a gentle giant and he is definitely smiling. My father passed away a number of years ago, but I still remember the good times. Always remember them.
This is an amazing comment for the video.

Gorrilla Dad is playing along though! Stern as he may look (as an adult gorilla), he enjoys the shenanigans of his son. You can be sure of this due to the lack of anger/violence that gorillas are infinitely capable of. Just a wholesome moment between primates :)
People laughing when these gorilla's are so depressed and frustrated..
Just not funny...
Agreed
They're like this in the wild too, it's called "chilling"
yeah they look exactly the same in the wild, ppl just wanna project whatever they believe
Jebus Crust yea and you live in the wild with gorillas so you know right.
@@oB_Session I watch them in nature documentaries all the time the same as u watch them on a UA-cam video here and decide they look "sad"
The eyes of the large male "spoke" volumes !!!
I love Gorillas. You can see why humans are so much like them, the Dad's side eye with a "See what I have to put up with 😑" look on his face is hilarious. I feel you Papa, nothing more annoying than irritating kids 😆
They need more friends . They are not for any one entertainment.. that’s Why I don’t visit any zoo. Feel bad for them.
Lots of love and more power to them 😊
These animal's probably have more brains then the people laughing at them.
That's a fact
There head is quite larger than a humans

Wow, 2:07 when it zooms in on his face and eyes it seriously looks like a human in a gorilla costume it’s insane how human-like the features really are when looked at so closely.
1:02 - that look says “Now you see the shit I have to put up with every day” 😂
Been there
2:03 “Come around that corner again and see what happens”😂😂😂
We've got a lot of experts in silverback facial expressions in here
Too many armchair animal psychologists, I agree.
I’m pretty sure you don’t have to be an expert to know when a animal is depressed being locked up in a small ass cage getting visited by hundreds of people everyday getting more and more stressed....
@@mannyob7164 Yes you do actually. You morons keep trying to apply human rational and psychology to animals. It's quite laughably stupid.
@@beninwarrior4579 lol I’m going to believe you because surely your an expert yourself..

The more I watch Gorillas the more I like them. This could be any father and son I know.
That big male was like"geez, can I have 5 minutes to myself, PLEASE!?
I could not stop laughing! 🤣 As a mother of three and a 5th Grade teacher, I could so relate to this. And those human expressions on dad’s face made me start to wheeze! 😂 😂😂🤣
a alpha gorila that need respects and dare no one look into his eyes:
people in the zoo: lets stare and mock him
I love that I can watch them all day long I just love I'm fascinated by him
You can see some intelligence in those eyes of the big guerilla. It's almost human-like.
*"Look dad, I'm a girl now, with long hair."*
Dad gives it a try...
*"Not a word to your mum, right!"*

Holding creatures like this captive brings literal tears to my eyes.
And yet - you don't truly care about the wild ones - otherwise you'd realize at least these animals are getting medical care when needed.

We humans are so cruel, these magnificent animals belong to the Wild not in a zoo where they become forced entertainers.
Elliott Moreno ohhhhhh
@Elliott Moreno i mean not all zoos are the same so u might just see a safe haven for animal or their own hell
Mark .......I agree .... Zoos are a great teaching tool .. A place where children (anyone) can learn about all different kinds of animals , but i feel that the only animals that belong there are ones with injuries that would not survive in the wild
Or to protect endangered animals
It breaks my heart to see such magnificent creatures lockup and people gocking at them ! All you have to do is look in there eyes and see how intelligent thay are .
Gawking my gocking 😘
It's a shame this magnificent being is in captivity for profit.
It’s a shame so many people don’t understand the purpose and benefit of zoos and aquariums
It’s also a shame these idiots don’t even realize they’re commenting using devices made of the very metals the gorillas home was destroyed to mine for them
@@alphi4868 obviously we disagree, but I was leaning towards the hope that there could be a solution to what is a problem hidden behind the scenes.
@@paulcoover7057 You can’t disagree on facts. Zoos exist to educate the public on the plight of endangered species, and preserve them through planned breeding programs designed around maximizing genetic diversity. They have to charge admission to cover the immense cost of caring for the animals. Whatever is left goes for conservation programs. Unfortunately, the keyboard warriors see one nasty “documentary” and lash out at the only people helping the animals to make themselves feel better about contributing the destruction of the natural world they think the animals should be dumped into.
@@alphi4868 Gorillas will undoubtedly go extinct in the near future for that very reason, most people don't see the big picture and with their quick knee jerk reaction, they doom an entire species.
