- In today's Building the Shot video I go over an image I took at a night photoshoot over in St Louis during Shutterfest 2019 that my friend Ivan Duran let me join in on. Some of the points I discuss are ghosting and why I use don't use TTL.

I really love your shoots
always great work Francisco. I've learned a lot from you.....and Roland....and Eli....;) Met Roland and Eli, but unfortunately you weren't there. Next time.
Donald Valdez wasn't invited to their first workshop, lol. But maybe another time. 😊
The point about using the modelling lamp to make sure the pupil restricts... it makes so much sense but is also something I never heard / read / thought of before. Thank you for these videos!
Nice work and video. I too rarely use a modifier on the back/separation light- it adds very little to the look and complicates location shooting. Usually just a bare head with a grid and possibly a gel seems to simply do the trick!
Robert Altman nice! Yeah, getting a softbox out and adding it to the rim light would also hinder the assistant from seeing where they're aiming too so that's another reason not to use one. 😊
Great video Francisco! True master of the OCF. keep it up. This is Townes
Townes 3 Photo hey man! Thanks so much! I love doing videos for this series. 😁
Great Video!!
This is Amazing !! Thankyou somch Fjh🖖🧡
You're welcome and thank you for watching! =)
Hey, thanks for the shoots analysis, I'm Adrian Caranda, from west Africa, I been taken photos for two years now and i don't know what software I can use to really bring out my shoots' color.
Please help me with the name of best software for photo editing.
Thanks
This is cool, thanks for sharing!!
You the man. Thank u good nrother
Anyone can help?
In this photo, he used a 24x24 softbox for a full-body shot. When I look online usually it suggests softboxes 36 or bigger for full-body.
I can help. I usually have smaller modifiers like the 24x24" at a foot above eye level but angled towards the chest. That usually spreads the light nicely towards the whole body.
If I feel like either the face or legs needs more light then I'll add a tiny bit of brightness in editing. Usually lightroom but sometimes photoshop as well.
Not only great at lighting, posing.....but in post. The RESULTS speak for themselves.
I was shooting right next to you guys while this was happening.
Kevin Younger hope we didn't take up too much time in that spot!
Hmmmm why are there 24 dislikes? You are doing great work mate ..thanks for sharing
The link to the softbox ....it doesn't indicate that its double diffused on Amazon.
kelly it is though. Swipe through the photos and you can see the two panels on the softbox folded up.
Any news on your photo walk at the Expo?
DIG Photographs more than likely sharing the info on the NY walks tomorrow 😊

is a 30 inches soft box okay for ad400 pro...?
Amit Hazra yes 😊
thank you...just love ur work man...
How do you make LR read an .ARW file?
It should work for you. Probably just a simple lightroom update and you'll be set.
POR FAVOR EN ESPAÑOL
Jorge Mulet I don't speak Spanish 😅
When I shot models many light years ago I had always been taught to have the model put the weight on her back leg, now I nee all these young girls on Instagram do the opposite to make the thigh and booty appear bigger. Good hand placement.
hawg427 I don't focus on that. I just make sure the leg closest to the camera is bent.
I thought you switched to the A7R4? I take it this shoot was done before you got it. Thoughts on the A7R4 compared to the A7R3? Low light noise performance? 61mp too much?
David M within 30 seconds of the video I mention that this was taken back in April. The A7RIV wasn't even announced then. It's a great camera and I'm loving the resolution, but the best thing about it is the grip.
Btw the ghosting you experience was not because of your ISO it was actually because of your shutter speed.
ZOETMOMENTS I know. That's why I said I should have raised the iso to use a faster shutter speed at 8:42 😊
How the practical on the field.
Every body giving only lactuer do not show on the location .
I disliked your this video .
Motasim Momin Don't even understand your comment.
Go to photo walks and workshops they will show you everything. Spend some money to learn things, you cant learn everything in videos for free. If you don’t like then stop watching. Videos like these do give us minimum knowledge and fjh photography is giving maximum details and he is very helpful. Dont dislike the videos, u know how much time and money they are spending in giving this free education. If you can, encourage them with good words. don’t discourage.
