He wanted to get up so many times and just dance but this is when Award shows had genuine good content and it was all about the music. Not to mention the only time he performed Remember the time!!! Performing from a chair is amazing but when you can stand on a stage for like 2 minutes without moving, half the arena chanting and the other half fainting all before the performance has even started that’s a true definition of legendary!!
I do remember when this aired. I was 17 years old. Very excited to see this even though he sprained his ankle. You can really tell he really wanted to get up and dance his heart out in this, but that ankle was awfully sore. Only Michael Jackson can pull off a performance sitting down. As I said in my previous comment it was all about his charisma. He had a charisma that was off the charts. I really do wish that he didn't pass away. I miss him immensely. 😢❤

One of my favourite performances of MJ, even though he couldn't dance, because of his injury, he killed it with his facial expressions, upper body movement and his out of this world gorgeous smiles. I watch this performance of his so much, it always makes me happy 😊😊.
Even on the Chair this man can make a show and it surely feels like magic to see this live. A full sitting concert of him his even better as the most todays Artists ones. This man has charism and a presence that no one can reach ever again.
Remember The Time was such a cursed song for Michael. It was supposed to be on the Dangerous Tour but was cancelled due to stage lift and costume complications,then this performance while iconic still didn't get it's full life due to Michael breaking his ankle.

That was an amazing performance of 'Remember The Time'. The energy coming from him, and coming from the crowd during the performance was just spectacular. i could definitely learn the simpler choreography for Remember The Time, I am a dancer myself and I have some time on my hands. Absolutely spectacular performance from a Michael with an injured leg

Jason Nelson he rehearsed it for the dangerous tour but it was taken off the setlist because of wardrobe malfunctions. But I think that it probably also had something to do with the dance. It’s really complex and you can see him struggling to remember it in the rehearsal footage

Although I get what you’re saying. The dance wasn’t difficult to the point that he couldn’t remember. During the rehearsals he’s checking everything, the lighting, the backing vocalists, the musicians playing the instruments and the dancers and their positions. During the rehearsal he was checking them and not completely focussing on himself hence is why he’s looking at them.

I WAS LITERALLY GOING TO SUGGEST THIS PERFORMANCE TO YOU! There is a God and He is good! I've only just discovered your channel but I thought this would be amazing for you to see. I found this performance not to long after he passed. It has stuck in my mind ever since! This guy was the nicest person I ever met. People used to say he was impossible to approach/to get to. But he was. You just needed to get his attention. And when you did, it was phenomenal. He was fully yours. He made you feel like you're the center of the world.

Michael was a genius! An extraordinarily talented visionary! Even sitting down he was able to create magic! I love him so does my son Gavin! He was my sons first favorite artist when he was 3. He would copy Smooth criminal! A beautiful soul taken too early from us! He would and could have changed the world! My belief is he was about too!!

It's the fact that you can see him so hard bopping to the song and trying not to get up but he has a couple moments when he gets up or hes moving his feet it's like when your favorite song comes on and you want to dance to it but you're in public so you use your feet and your mouth the words alone and try not to do too much movement that's exactly what he was doing and it's funny he got a standing ovation and he still won an award that same day

I was 4 when America was introduced to Michael. He was 5. My little sister had his posters on the walls of her room. I did not fall in love with him until he was a teenage when Off The Wall came out but before Thriller. The first concert I saw was in 1981 at the Forum. Waited in line 2 hrs. We sat in Row 18 and it was so close it was like you could touch him. That was the first time I came close to getting hysterical. Lol. Then thriller came out and the first time I heard Billy Jean on the radio at work, I knew then that the whole world would now see the greatness I had witnessed in 81. I was so proud of him. I was so blessed to see him again with his brothers in 1984 at Dodgers Stadium. We sat in row 20, His mother, sisters, Diana Ross and Mr. T were sitting in an elevated area(like a sky box) BEHIND us! Lol. Mind blowing ! Those Moves! Never seen that in any guys I had ever met! Have you heard the Evolution of Michael Jackson by Pentatonix? I thought they did a great job. MJ would've been proud.

He didn't make any mistakes here. All the parts he "Failed" to lipsync are on the Album version. They ended up cutting some parts to the song and Michael probably just forgot

MJ was and still is a pure definition of charisma. Even if he hadn't move a muscle there anyone could have feel his vibes all around anyways, just the presence was enough to go nuts, but he couldn't resist to the groove and even when he wasn't performing he always "danced" in a way, he felt the rhythm of life. I think he got this way of be from flamenco dance, the inner dance before the actual dance, before performing a step, I hope you know what I mean. In short, He was and is just one of a kind.
I didn't know this performance existed! He's so damn awesome! I can't help but feel most other performers would have cancelled on the show under the same circumstances. Michael was the epitome of professionalism and perfection in everything he presented and created.
Only Michael could've gotten away with this.
