Which is scary to think about, we think we can look at somebody, know a few things about them and appraise whether they are a "good person" on some shallow surface details which is nonsense.

Medical schools do have a significant non academic portion in the application that considers other factors like volunteer work. In fact, many applicants with very high test scores get turned down because they haven’t demonstrated a humanitarian side to their character. I wanna back up the first reply to your comment here and say True, but....women are narcissists too as well as men particularly on dating apps. Thing is we live in this modern world with tech and this is a social norm with meeting people. Everybody has an agenda and I understand two wrongs don't make a right. This woman's story, my takeaway is that she herself was stated as interested in dating him cause he was a doctor. So that tells me she liked him for the trust he instilled?...I don't know the report implies that but I think it was more so about his money. Just an example...she could've dated me but I'm not her type cause I'm just a blue collar fella who works outside with my back and hands and the biggest reason of all I don't do dating apps. However I am intrigued by meet ups online specifically for singles. Haven't tried it but I heard about it and it seems like a nice way to find things in common with other singles and just maybe there is a special someone otherwise forget about out it. Life is hard enough without the drama of pleasing others.

People do not seem to understand why these things happen. It´s not because girls and women don´t know about this. It´s because they are raised with too little self-confidence. Do you allow your child to say no to things? Do you even encourage that sense of knowing what the child (not) wants and needs and express that WITHOUT BAD REACTIONS? Do parents protect their children from the demands of others (and their own), like doing certain things or letting others (family and others) touch, hugs etc. Do children have to say nice things they don´t feel? Are you teaching them to listen to and act on their gut WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES? Is their selfworth based on doing things for others? And so on.

It's not uncommon to hear women brag about their daughter marrying a doctor in movies or TV shows, or in life. That's why he put a picture of himself in a doctor's mock with a stetoscope. He knew it would get him requests.
Even if you share the same profession, the same love of dogs, and the same interest in outdoors activity, going to a man's house on a first date on any pretense (walking the dog), is overlooking basic safety measures.
