  • In this episode, I take the Holley Terminator X wiring harness and install it onto the 4.6L 2V engine.
    Also, I replace the stock carbureted fuel tank with an aftermarket EFI aluminum fuel tank.
    Check out the awesome 1970 Challenger hemi swap my brother has done!

    I probably just need a relay rated for higher amps but my electric fan in my TJ is annoying me. will have to see your set up in person and get some ideas for the TJ.

    I know this is a bit late but any chance you still have the specific numbers for your Holley kit and which year was the motor out of? I’m putting a 1998 4.6 in my 73 international stepside and still deciding on which standalone I wanna go with.

      I do not have the kit number. But the engine was a 4.6L from a 2006 Lincoln town car. So it had the high output heads and all of that. Not sure if Holley has a different kit number for the non high output heads. Highly recommend them though. Plug and play and it fired right up!

    Was the Lincoln town car drive by wire and you swapped it to drive by cable?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  4 місяці тому

      That is correct. Since I didn't use the town car wiring harness and computer, I had the option with the holley. I'm happy with the decision!

      @@4WDTrek what you using to pull em out? Yankem kinetic or a bad ass pull rope? I’ve seen guys out doing that I need to get in the spirit!! Who has some 33 inchers for sale? I’m ready to upgrade!!

      @@motomason in this amount of snow, all it takes is a little tug. Most vehicles around are NOT set up to be pulled. So you gotta be careful. Most of the tow hooks are no more than tie-down points from shipping from factory. My milestar tires are freaking fanatic in the snow so my steady pull in 4wd low is enough. So I use just a standard thick tow rope.

    Did I miss the fuel pump wiring? I have a 64.5 with a 4.6 DOHC Mark VIII. I'm having issues with the fuel pump. No power at the tank. I thought it might be just a bad relay. However, the only relay I can find is for the horn. Would love to see your process before I start pulling stuff.

      I'm not sure if I got that part on video. All I did was ran the single power out wire from the holley computer to the power on the fuel pump. I grounded the fuel pump to the frame in the trunk. I did also hook up the fuel level sending wires to the stock wires in the trunk, from the old car side wire to the new tank side unit.

      @@4WDTrek Update on my issue in hopes that it might help someone else... I also have one wire to my fuel pump. I had a short in my ignition switch wiring. If you are not able to start your car or it stops running all of a sudden. Check to make sure it's getting fuel AND FIRE. Assuming it was a fuel pump issue, I never checked to see of it was getting a spark. It was not. I have it rigged up right now but will be replacing my ignition switch wiring pigtail.

      I am putting a DOHC 4.6 from '05 Lincoln Aviator into '66 convertible GT but having hard time getting motor low enough to clear hood without having to slide it back far enough that it will hit blower motor. What oil pan, intake and throttle body did you use. I would like to leave hood stock. Thanks!

    Would a foxbody motor and a holley terminator x work with this mustang?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 роки тому +1

      It would! Thats actually a lot more common swap than the 4.6l 2v. It is a lot easier of a swap as well. It's a lot more narrow of an engine and doesn't require new sub frame nor cutting out shock towers.
