It’s depression, and I hope whoever that is gets some help. I eventually realized my shallowness was a me problem, and not everyone else’s and I changed my attitude. The ladies started to notice, and now I’m married to a beautiful, brilliant Doctor who’s carrying out first child. It’s all about attitude. It’s not very manly to blame the world around you when things aren’t going your way, it’s an insecurity issue. I love watching your videos because you two are very secure with yourselves and each other. In one video, he talks about maybe finding a girl, after talking about the difficulties his condition presents in that department. The fact that he doesn't say, "Oh, but you know what, it happened twice before, it just didn't stick, I mean for real for real, a permanent one" doesn't mean the whole rest of his life is a sham. What's the fairytale supposed to be besides? It's not called Laughing About My Perfect Existence. The whole point of this entire channel is education about misunderstandings and how normal they are. It's a couple with a UA-cam channel. They literally talk about how normal they are, getting in fights, annoying each other. He still has the same disability. As someone who has to work online for huge chunks of the day every day, I say sincerely: go outside, live yourself, expand a horizon.
I am a quadriplegic, and happen to be a professional artist. I paint with my mouth. I had somebody come at me on the Internet spreading accusations and comments and emails to my friends and people that I work with that I was faking my disability that I really painted with my hands and not my mouth! Even though I have tons of videos on the Internet of me painting with my mouth, I still did not appreciate the accusation after having to come so far in my profession just to be recognized as an equal. Lol. Not exactly the same thing, but it made me think how strange it is that people will go so far out of their way to do these things, which seemingly has no benefit to them. Wow. I'm sorry people are just so damn awful. I'll never understand why anyone uses so much time in their life to be hateful to people they don't know on the internet. With everything going on these days everyone should be living life to the fullest. People these days don't seem to care about anything. Please don't ever stop living your dream being a professional artist. Other people's words can be hurtful but you know who you are and what you have accomplished with your disability. That person was jealous that they can't paint even half as good as you can and they use their hands. People are sick. Years ago, a guy in my small group at church told out leader that my grandma told him I didn't really have Multiple Sclerosis. The only reason I found out is the leader tried to call my grandparents to see if it was true. She couldn't get their number from information or a web search because they both actually go went by their middle names and she didn't know their legal names. I confronted them both and he admitted he lied. Over 18 years later I still don't understand what would possess someone to try to harm another person with vicious lies.

My experience with being close friends with one visibly disabled person is that people find it EXTREMELY hard to make sense of the relationship - even when you explain it to them over and over again. In my case, people assumed that I was my friend's brother, my friend's boyfriend, my friend's assistant... they just couldn't accept that our friendship was what we said it was. I believe it's got something to do with breaking social norms that makes people more prone to questioning you. Plus there's obviously something about visibly disabled people having happy and meaningful relationships that bugs the hell out of some people.
Yep, in college I was friends with a man who had Cerebral Palsy and used a fast electric wheelchair. We'd run around town, me in roller blades hanging on to him and people kept asking how much he was paying me to spend time with him.
It's true. When I first became good friends with a deaf person I had people asking me why I'd become their friend and saying "that must be really difficult" after they saw us writing to each other at parties. No, no not really difficult at all no.

Y'all give me hope. I've been stewing on a past client's (I'm a graphic designer) hurtful, dismissive words for almost a year and have been back and forth whether to talk openly about it. He called me difficult and unprofessional because I was asking for accomodations (I am disabled and was 6months pregnant at the time). I eventually walked away from him and wished him the best but MAN did it take a mental toll on me. I'm still wondering how best to open up about the issue and seeing how you and Hannah have handled this lame troll helps me feel a little more confident to find the fun in the situation. People project on others all the time and it's a disservice to let it affect me and quiet my own truth because they can't see their own. Thank you for this video. I may have to revisit it from time to time to remind myself some people are just unaware of the poison they spew. Kudos for not taking it to heart or stooping to their level. Also! Shane I'm from Central PA (originally) and can confirm love nothings works. If you had said "sweet little nothing's" it might have opened the door for the troll to be like "yeah. On a serious note, I think you've really touched on the truth behind these trolls- they're jealous of your happiness, which is just so sad. My friend, who is a quadriplegic, designed a plow for the front of his power chair and he grades the driveway at our private campground. He also designed and built an attachment for a weed whip and has gone all over her campground cleaning edges up!
Y'all are fantastic. I've binged a dozen videos and I'm hooked. Both my husband and I are disabled in very different ways. My disabilities are largely unseen and I'm able to work full-time. He is easily fatigued and is no longer able to clock in. it's totally fine by us! I'm in charge of Finance/Business and he's Household Ops. We're just playing to our strengths. Because my disabilities are largely unseen and his are not, I hear so much nonsense because people often wrongly assume I am abled. It has the same gross feeling like when someone thinks it's ok to tell a racist joke because they think everyone is white. Gross. I so appreciate your sense of humor in dealing with all the frustrations around accessibility. There are days when I literally get so mad and just want to give up because sometimes people are so inconsiderate and seem to be fine with it -- like when I ask for captions and someone requests a "pass until next time" in a video call. Ok, I guess I'll just sit here and wish I could hear so you don't have to be bothered to click three things and learn something new. Eventually, sometimes after a good flurry of bad words, I realize it's disappointing but not the end of the world and giving up isn't an option because it's about more than just me. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with ableism and talking about accessibility openly. It's not for everyone but folks that can like you do make such a difference and help bridge the gap between worlds. Abled people can better understand the challenges that arise on a daily basis that shouldn't be hurdles. We can do so much better for one another as humans. I personally believe, all of us, abled and disabled who can, should look out for each other in whatever way we can and that's going to look different for everyone. The world could be a lot friendlier place with a little bit of effort from everyone who is capable of the work. Your love for one another is a delight to see. I had the misfortune a few weeks ago of finding your little troll's video in my feed. I didn't really know what it was and as I started watching I thought, "ooh, this guy seems like a really small-minded man who can't wrap his head around a relationship that's based on something more than physcial appearance and ability." Sure enough, it didn't take long for him to say something to the effect of girls that look like Hannah should be for him, not Shane. I always think the people that troll pages are just sad, I just see no point in wasting any precious second of my own day, but for someone to go an rant and post his own video, lordy, it's just so pathetic. The best for him is to probably change his ways and get therapy. There was times in my life I was frustrated because no women were interested in me due to my disability but then I was an idiot and would just keep messaging them (I was never inappropriate or anything but I would keep having conversations even though they were ghosting me) but I realised this behaviour wasn't helping and wouldn't appreciate it if someone messaged my sisters consistently and didn't just take a hint and back off, so I stopped as well and just changed my mind set to be happy for other people. I'm still single and get annoyed when I see the type of people that bullied me getting girls but when I get upset about it I just think about something else like my story writing and don't dwell on things that make me want to be like that troll in the video. Watching stuff like this also helps me because it is positive and uplifting. You're also both really funny as well and I wish there was more people like you two in the world.
When my daughter was a teenager, she had some girls bullying her. It was when pagers were a thing and they paged her from when they got out of school till they went to bed. I told her that she must be so very important that they think of you so much!

THIS is what it means when you "live in someone's head rent free". This troll is CLEARLY obsessed with y'all!! It's insane that they're quite literally thinking of y'all 24/7. I was engaged to a wonderful man back in 2000. He happened to have CP, required total care and was non-verbal. So many able bodied people couldn't understand why I loved him, it was pointless to explain he was brilliant and funny. I had to explain that he spelled everything he said out on a talk board or his computer and that to more intelligence than just speaking. We ended our engagement because he enjoyed partying at bars and I was apparently to into "church". I think it was really for the best because I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 2 months after we were to have gotten married. I'm sure it would have freaked his caregiver out because I was paralyzed from the mid-torso down when I was diagnosed and also had a grandmal seizure a week after my diagnosis (the day after my boss fired me, "due to my diagnosis"). I wouldn't have been able to share in his personal care as I had when we dated. He had 24 hour attendants, I would assist and often times take over much of the care so his main attendant could give us privacy. I don't understand why people can't see past a person's surface to see what really makes them worth while to others. I have met some beautiful people that were really ugly when you got to know them!
In many circumstamces, an employer can't fire you for becoming sick. It is against labor laws. You might want to contact a lawyer and consider a wrongful termination lawsuit. I'm sorry that happened to you! The only way to remedy illegal behavior by an employer is through the courts. A lot of people don't know their rights and many employers use that to their advantage. The one thing they care about is money. If you win a lawsuit against them they _will_ learn not to risk doing that again to someone else.

Plus one of my witnesses was a friend that I had spent the weekend with after I was hired. Her testimony contradicted my employers statements about my health on the day I was hired. That friend happened to be a judge in our state! My attorney did it pro bono which was awesome because it wasn't a huge financial win. The most important part for me was she had to take a sensitivity training course at the local university.

It’s depression, and I hope whoever that is gets some help. I eventually realized my shallowness was a me problem, and not everyone else’s and I changed my attitude. The ladies started to notice, and now I’m married to a beautiful, brilliant Doctor who’s carrying out first child. It’s all about attitude. It’s not very manly to blame the world around you when things aren’t going your way, it’s an insecurity issue. I love watching your videos because you two are very secure with yourselves and each other. I am a quadriplegic, and happen to be a professional artist. I paint with my mouth. I had somebody come at me on the Internet spreading accusations and comments and emails to my friends and people that I work with that I was faking my disability that I really painted with my hands and not my mouth! Even though I have tons of videos on the Internet of me painting with my mouth, I still did not appreciate the accusation after having to come so far in my profession just to be recognized as an equal. Lol. Not exactly the same thing, but it made me think how strange it is that people will go so far out of their way to do these things, which seemingly has no benefit to them. Wow. I'm sorry people are just so damn awful. I'll never understand why anyone uses so much time in their life to be hateful to people they don't know on the internet. With everything going on these days everyone should be living life to the fullest. People these days don't seem to care about anything. Please don't ever stop living your dream being a professional artist. Other people's words can be hurtful but you know who you are and what you have accomplished with your disability. That person was jealous that they can't paint even half as good as you can and they use their hands. Just like this person thinks this relationship is fake because he is able-bodied and Shane isn't so there's no way he has such a good wife like her.

People are sick. Years ago, a guy in my small group at church told out leader that my grandma told him I didn't really have Multiple Sclerosis. The only reason I found out is the leader tried to call my grandparents to see if it was true. She couldn't get their number from information or a web search because they both actually go went by their middle names and she didn't know their legal names. I confronted them both and he admitted he lied. Over 18 years later I still don't understand what would possess someone to try to harm another person with vicious lies.

My experience with being close friends with one visibly disabled person is that people find it EXTREMELY hard to make sense of the relationship - even when you explain it to them over and over again. In my case, people assumed that I was my friend's brother, my friend's boyfriend, my friend's assistant... they just couldn't accept that our friendship was what we said it was. I believe it's got something to do with breaking social norms that makes people more prone to questioning you. Plus there's obviously something about visibly disabled people having happy and meaningful relationships that bugs the hell out of some people.
Yep, in college I was friends with a man who had Cerebral Palsy and used a fast electric wheelchair. We'd run around town, me in roller blades hanging on to him and people kept asking how much he was paying me to spend time with him.

My grandma used to tell me people who bully must have a really hard life at home. As a child I hated when she would say that, as a mother, I agree. I’ve never met a happy bully! Have you? Y'all give me hope. I've been stewing on a past client's (I'm a graphic designer) hurtful, dismissive words for almost a year and have been back and forth whether to talk openly about it. He called me difficult and unprofessional because I was asking for accomodations (I am disabled and was 6months pregnant at the time). I eventually walked away from him and wished him the best but MAN did it take a mental toll on me. I'm still wondering how best to open up about the issue and seeing how you and Hannah have handled this lame troll helps me feel a little more confident to find the fun in the situation. People project on others all the time and it's a disservice to let it affect me and quiet my own truth because they can't see their own. Thank you for this video. My friend, who is a quadriplegic, designed a plow for the front of his power chair and he grades the driveway at our private campground. He also designed and built an attachment for a weed whip and has gone all over her campground cleaning edges up!

Y'all are fantastic. I've binged a dozen videos and I'm hooked. Both my husband and I are disabled in very different ways. My disabilities are largely unseen and I'm able to work full-time. He is easily fatigued and is no longer able to clock in. it's totally fine by us! I'm in charge of Finance/Business and he's Household Ops. We're just playing to our strengths. Because my disabilities are largely unseen and his are not, I hear so much nonsense because people often wrongly assume I am abled. It has the same gross feeling like when someone thinks it's ok to tell a racist joke because they think everyone is white. Gross. I so appreciate your sense of humor in dealing with all the frustrations around accessibility. There are days when I literally get so mad and just want to give up because sometimes people are so inconsiderate and seem to be fine with it -- like when I ask for captions and someone requests a "pass until next time" in a video call. Ok, I guess I'll just sit here and wish I could hear so you don't have to be bothered to click three things and learn something new. Eventually, sometimes after a good flurry of bad words, I realize it's disappointing but not the end of the world and giving up isn't an option because it's about more than just me. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with ableism and talking about accessibility openly. It's not for everyone but folks that can like you do make such a difference and help bridge the gap between worlds. Abled people can better understand the challenges that arise on a daily basis that shouldn't be hurdles. We can do so much better for one another as humans. I personally believe, all of us, abled and disabled who can, should look out for each other in whatever way we can and that's going to look different for everyone. The world could be a lot friendlier place with a little bit of effort from everyone who is capable of the work. Your love for one another is a delight to see. Hannah, I'm with you -- it's always an empathy struggle with the meanies of the world. It just seems like so much more effort to be a steaming pile of poo. I had the misfortune a few weeks ago of finding your little troll's video in my feed. I didn't really know what it was and as I started watching I thought, "ooh, this guy seems like a really small-minded man who can't wrap his head around a relationship that's based on something more than physcial appearance and ability." Sure enough, it didn't take long for him to say something to the effect of girls that look like Hannah should be for him, not Shane. I always think the people that troll pages are just sad, I just see no point in wasting any precious second of my own day, but for someone to go an rant and post his own video, lordy, it's just so pathetic. The best for him is to probably change his ways and get therapy. There was times in my life I was frustrated because no women were interested in me due to my disability but then I was an idiot and would just keep messaging them (I was never inappropriate or anything but I would keep having conversations even though they were ghosting me) but I realised this behaviour wasn't helping and wouldn't appreciate it if someone messaged my sisters consistently and didn't just take a hint and back off, so I stopped as well and just changed my mind set to be happy for other people. I'm still single and get annoyed when I see the type of people that bullied me getting girls but when I get upset about it I just think about something else like my story writing and don't dwell on things that make me want to be like that troll in the video. Watching stuff like this also helps me because it is positive and uplifting. You're also both really funny as well and I wish there was more people like you two in the world.
When my daughter was a teenager, she had some girls bullying her. It was when pagers were a thing and they paged her from when they got out of school till they went to bed. I told her that she must be so very important that they think of you so much!

Everything they have been building around their own emotional emptyness is a mask, and therefore FAKE. And as they know this deep down and hate themself so much, they will project that on to someone else. So now they call out someone else for something they are constantly doing themselfs. I was engaged to a wonderful man back in 2000. He happened to have CP, required total care and was non-verbal. So many able bodied people couldn't understand why I loved him, it was pointless to explain he was brilliant and funny. I had to explain that he spelled everything he said out on a talk board or his computer and that to more intelligence than just speaking. We ended our engagement because he enjoyed partying at bars and I was apparently to into "church". I think it was really for the best because I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 2 months after we were to have gotten married. I'm sure it would have freaked his caregiver out because I was paralyzed from the mid-torso down when I was diagnosed and also had a grandmal seizure a week after my diagnosis (the day after my boss fired me, "due to my diagnosis"). I wouldn't have been able to share in his personal care as I had when we dated. He had 24 hour attendants, I would assist and often times take over much of the care so his main attendant could give us privacy.
I don't understand why people can't see past a person's surface to see what really makes them worth while to others. I have met some beautiful people that were really ugly when you got to know them!
In many circumstamces, an employer can't fire you for becoming sick. It is against labor laws. You might want to contact a lawyer and consider a wrongful termination lawsuit. I'm sorry that happened to you! The only way to remedy illegal behavior by an employer is through the courts. A lot of people don't know their rights and many employers use that to their advantage. The one thing they care about is money. If you win a lawsuit against them they _will_ learn not to risk doing that again to someone else.
@@mygirldarbyI did win a settlement against her. The biggest help I had was she told unemployment she fired me because of my diagnosis. Plus one of my witnesses was a friend that I had spent the weekend with after I was hired. Her testimony contradicted my employers statements about my health on the day I was hired. That friend happened to be a judge in our state! My attorney did it pro bono which was awesome because it wasn't a huge financial win. The most important part for me was she had to take a sensitivity training course at the local university.

I am of age that grandma gave you life advice instead of social media. She said you are strong and secure enough to deal with this bully and because of you someone not strong enough is being left alone since all concentration on you. This has made me wish that I had animations skills because everytime I see the phrase wheelchair digger I get an image in my mind of Hannah mining for wheelchairs and now that little daydream has the added bonus of an animated Shane, clearly a faker, running around her until she digs up what looks to be his wheelchair that he then hops in and they wheel off together to the bank laughing all the way.
