    I add a quart of atf to my tank every few months. Helps lube everything and keep it working smooth. I had a failing pump and 200 mile trip to make and that atf got me home. Had to beat on the tank every half mile to get me down the road before I added the atf. After adding it I made it 150 miles with no issue. It really works.

    Whoa... running your truck til it's low on fuel can cause the fuel pump to burn out!? That's the first time I've heard that!

    • @3Wheels1Block
      @3Wheels1Block  5 місяців тому +3

      Yup, fuel cools your fuel pump and keeps it operating properly longer.

      Keep running them low. Fuel pumps are cake wake at my shop. Easy 1000 dollar bill on these gmt-800 with 600 of it being pure profit

    Everyone should cut access panels it's bs that vehicle manufacturers don't give one just to ensure a $300 job becomes a $1,300 job.

    • @3Wheels1Block
      @3Wheels1Block  6 місяців тому

      I will say it does make more sense to have an access panel. Granted most fuel pumps don't go out under warranty, it is still a part that needed to be replaced at some point. GM does this in the Buick regals, so I'm not sure why they didn't on the SUVs

    Access panel for the win!

    Thanks for the video. Dropping the tanks really suck because the plastic fuel lines are still attached and the possibility of breaking them is high. I replaced the FP on my Sierra and cut a panel in the bed, really nice.

    • @3Wheels1Block
      @3Wheels1Block  13 днів тому

      You bet! Yes those emissions lines can get very brittle and then you have other issues. If it was a truck, I would remove the bed, but I'm definitely not taking the body off for a suburban 😂

    Another man saves himself a $1000 and time with an already precut access hole under the back seat. Time to buy a good steak with all that money you saved.

    Had to do this because I looked at the fuel lines and they where rusted bad and I didn't want to drop the tank to mess around with busted fuel lines added to my problem

    Hey brother. I’m having a similar issue. But I cannot find my fuel filter on the 06 Yukon xl Slt flex fuel. Could you help me? Is it hidden? We cannot find it where it should be in plain sight.

    • @3Wheels1Block
      @3Wheels1Block  Місяць тому +1

      The fuel filter should be along the driver side frame between the rear wheel and front wheel.

    some cars if you run out of gas, the ECM has to be reset. The ECM shuts off the pump to make it live if it senses no pressure.

      If you can remove the bed it is much easier

  • @exploringgodscountry

    The reason there is no panel is because it's easy to remove the tank and swap the pump on these. I've done pumps on quite a few vehicles and my Tahoe was by far the easiest.

    • @3Wheels1Block
      @3Wheels1Block  8 місяців тому +1

      These have several plastic emissions lines that are prone to cracking causing an emissions related CEL, the GMT 400s did not though.

    • @normankaster917
      @normankaster917 6 місяців тому +2

      You must not be working on very many salt belt vehicles..... Everything is rusted and will snap if you look too hard at it.... I'm cutting access panel way easier to deal with that

    • @exploringgodscountry
      @exploringgodscountry 6 місяців тому

      @@normankaster917that could be, although most of my life was in the salt belt. Douse bolts with lots of penetrating oil. There's really only two bolts that hold it up and two ring clamps. I'm just amazed though. It's so easy to drop the tank. I've dropped a bunch of them. The only vehicle that was a bear was my 1994 Z28 Camaro. Exhaust, and rear end was in the way... and then it just BARELY came out. I'd not dream of cutting up the body let alone taking part the interior. That's a lot more work then just dropping the tank. It'll also create more places where your vehicle will rust. I'd make sure to recoat all those with paint and or sealer of some kind. Trucks have to be the easiest of them all.
