How could you not, the kid knows how to make songs that sound good and it’s obviously something that mattered to him. Best news of recent memory!!! Thank you
I only discovered the Turnpike Troubadours in 2020, so I had no idea any of this went down. Wow. I'm glad some of the members got sober. I hope they continue to make great music! My favorite song of theirs is "Pay No Rent", as the lyrics "In my heart you pay no rent" reminds me of the few people in my life I keep in my heart no matter how physically distant we are.
I've loved these guys unconditionally since hearing Diamonds and Gasoline for the first time. Easily my favourite album, and their other music is also very wonderful. More than great news to learn about a comeback!
Grady welcome back to being so happy and excited. I will pray that you can stay in this zone. I've been watching you for about two years now and I have seen happy high and so low even a pregnant earthworm was a million feet above you. You have survived some many troubling times and I glad you are back and pray you will be able to stay on this sky rocket of happiness and continue to a great 2022 and beyond. God Bless! Jack
Right on! The first time I heard Turnpike Troubadours years ago, It was “Every Girl” and I immediately thought “wow this is the sound that I feel like popular country music should have ACTUALLY progressed toward”, then I listened to that whole record and that become furthermore justified in that stance. Incredible band and songwriting.
"He's from the same freaking town in Oklahoma that they're from" I don't know why that made me chuckle, but it did. I'm so hyped for some new Turnpike Troubadours! *Also I enjoyed seeing this excitable side of Grady. Not sure I've seen him like this before, but it definitely made me smile
Hey! Just stopping by and saying I'm sober too! Let's go! Happy for Evan, happy for you, happy for Tyler, happy for Jason, and all folks who are rambling down this road. Hell yah.
I got into Turnpike Troubadours during Covid and I feel like Beary Barrington in the Country Bears movie. I have been listening to all of the old songs and performances and finally seeing them get back together like the Country Bears did. What a time to be alive. Country Bears is a great movie. Long love Turnpike Troubadours.
I’m glad to see someone as excited as me to see them back! Had tickets to one of those canceled concerts when they fell apart, and I thought we might never see the day when they were making music together again!
Hey, it is what it is. Evan, hopefully, is back on his feet and has conquered some of his demons. I saw these guys in Wichita a few years back and they flat-assed rocked the house. I absolutely LOVE their sound and hope they have many years ahead of them.
As a 17 year old in Eastern Washington Wheat Country who grew up on beef and local AM, my music taste tends to lean more towards Jimmy Rodgers or Hank Thompson than most. I had heard Down Here, but never really looked into TT. I looked at Kyle Nix's album on Grady's recommendation, and really liked it. I think I'll give them a shot now, especially after hearing Easton and Main. Cain's Ballroom is probably the birthplace of Texas/Oklahoma Country music, and is on my bucket list to visit. Bob Wills (formerly of the Light Crust Doughboys) put together the Texas Playboys in '35 to play for a Tulsa radio station out of Cain's Ballroom, and the rest is history. Thanks for the curiosity peak!
BADASS!!! THIS IS SO CLICHE BUT THIS IS A ANSWERED PRAYER. I'm a 41 year old good ol' boy Texan. Lifelong Robert Earl Keen fan, and these boys just simply do it right. Thanks for getting back together, and please please please come and play in Amarillo Texas
I just discovered them this year, so I guess a good year to become a fan! Grady, I'd love to see a video on country music artists getting sober. It seems to be a newer trend (which I very much respect) that goes against the stereotype of country musicians as a bunch of beer and whiskey- drinking cowboys. Also heard you say you're sober now too, so I'd be especially interested in your take.
Best news all year. Had tickets to see them at South Padre Island but they broke up right before. Hope I get a chance to see em soon. Please hit up South Texas.
I'm glad I found your channel. I've liked country music for a long time, but have always hated country radio, and have had a hard time finding artists I like. Since finding your channel, I've discovered Turnpike Troubadours, Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, Flatland Cavalry, and Colter Wall.... all awesome artists! Thanks man!
I can't begin to explain how happy I am! As a long time fan of Turnpike and being from the north, I've been kicking myself for never taking a trip down south to see them live, and thought I lost my chance. Can't wait for their new music and I guess I have a road trip in the works whenever a tour is announced!
I'm writing this book right now and the Turnpike Troubadours's song *Easton and Main* actually inspired one of the characters, meaning one of the characters is named Easton.
I got really into them right before they went on hiatus and it bummed me out thinking they weren’t going to come back but glad they all got clean and they will shine even brighter now! Can’t wait for what’s to come
Evan’s last performance was at a benefit playing on stage with the Teague Brothers Band. You should check them out, they have similar writing styles and seem like a breath of fresh air.
It is an amazing day. My sister and I were leaving for their show at White Oak Music Hall before they cancelled an hour before the show. The next day they announced their hiatus and it was so sad. Turnpike is my favorite band. Glad to see Evan thriving again with Staci and their baby girl. On a side note, Grady, thank you for speaking openly about your mental health here. It is really tough. I hope you find healing and are able to thrive again yourself. Having been through severe depression in the past (basically from 2015 to 2018 with a few positive months interspersed) I know how hard it can be. There is hope though ❤️ I will pray for you.
I Just about fell out of my seat when i seen they where coming back and didn't believe it until I seen the Instagram post today. just listened to a Long way from your Heart album last week and was thinking the world needs Turnpike Troubadours right now.
Cody Canada plays those songs at a shows still. Has he says on social, "go to a show, those songs sound better now then they did when the band originally put them out."
I discovered Turnpike Troubadours the beginning of my first deployment. It gave me amazing flashes of growing up in southeastern AR. A band like them comes around once in a while.
Hey bud, great stuff. You were the one who introduced me to Turnpike in your Country Genre video and they have been my favorite ever since. Can't wait to hear from them again. As always great stuff. Also, my friend Tom O'Connor put out an album, you'd really enjoy his stuff. Thanks for the good news.
Merry Christmas to us all! ;) Went to buy tickets for Red Rocks and was really disappointed that the bots got to them first and now tix start at like $600. Still, a great thing to celebrate!
I’m so stocked! However I’m sad because I’m just now seeing they played @Love in War in Plano Texas on Sunday but I’m just now seeing this… I can NOT wait! So glad Evan is all good and his wife so happy they worked things out. I know she helped him and they are in love now more than ever with their beautiful baby girl❤️
Zach Bryan wrote a song that captures what long-time fans of TT felt. Felker is the best songwriter of our generation, I said it, his song-writing is like a Norman Rockwell painting with a behind the scenes commentary on the true lives of humans the people in control of literally every other element of American culture don’t know, understand, nor care to even understand bc it’s easier to just call us dumb racists than it is to have to come to the realization that maybe their coastal pop-culture, idol-induced lifestyle might actually be the shallow, ignorant, narrow-minded worldview they project onto middle-America. God bless the Turnpike Troubadours.
That’s music to my ears! Was never available when they played near me and just recently Kyle Nix was playing here but had family visiting. 3rd times a charm.
I'm so flippin excited! Actually lost my voice the day they dropped their new photo from scream singing their entire catalogue of music in excitement 😂
Still remember showing up to the House of Blues Chicago and getting told to go home. Absolutely brutal timeline after that, glad the bands back together and didn't let this tear them apart forever.
Enjoy my side-tangent in defense of Zach Bryan's "Felker."
How could you not, the kid knows how to make songs that sound good and it’s obviously something that mattered to him. Best news of recent memory!!! Thank you

I’m most excited for the new potential team up with Zach Bryan playing with them on tour!!!!
Grady definitely has “9 year old that got exactly what they wanted for Christmas” energy in this video and I am here for it.
I mean it’s all I’ve wanted for the past 2 Christmas’ and Birthdays
@@samreynolds9925 Cue the Mariah Carey 😂

It’s my last Monday of my job, I got a free milkshake, and Turnpike troubadours got back together. One hell of a day
WHAT A DAY!!
@@GradySmith yes lol
I don’t need anymore Christmas presents this year. This is the best one I could get.

Couldn’t be happier about this reunion. Love these guys. Diamonds and Gasoline is straight up perfection.
Best band many haven't heard of

Grady… I cannot count how many arguments I have had sticking up for Zach Bryan’s “Felker” song. That’s an amazing tribute
That song was how we got into Zach Bryan. Love them all!
There's a reunion show at Red Rocks on may 14th, 2022.
Ragweed was one of the best of all time! So I’m in on these guys!
CCR is the shit. Both of em..

Lets fuckin goooooo. Best concert ive been too.
Cue the "oh my God it's happening everybody stay calm everybody STAY F*CKING CALM!"

I am so glad I heard this great news today. Man I can’t wait to see them live again! Best news in awhile.
I saw them in concert and met them in Nashville tn once , loved the group
Turnpike has been my favorite band for years. Their return has rekindled my hope for mankind.
We love you too, Grady. God bless you for your enthusiasm and passion! And rock on with your sobriety. I know how much that stuff costs, bro.
Going to see Kyle Nix and the 38s and RC and the Ambers this Saturday at the Cain's. Hopefully it'll be a reunion show.
Red Ants Pants performance was fantastic
they're on it ...and a shout out to Case co-writer bass-BriarzRay>yo

Don't forget about Whiskey Meyers. I saw them here in Mesa Arizona about years ago. Turnpike Troubadours, I'm waiting for them to hit here.
Turnpike video *and* Charles Wesley Godwin album video soon? Grady Smith renaissance
Cody Canada plays those songs at a shows still. Has he says on social, "go to a show, those songs sound better now then they did when the band originally put them out."
Love seeing your energy Grady and love the “who cares” attitude… and I LOVE The sound of the fiddle ! … 🙌🏼
Holy shit. A divorce and custody battle, totaled out two vehicles this year too. This, this is what I needed to hear. So happy.
I discovered Turnpike Troubadours the beginning of my first deployment. It gave me amazing flashes of growing up in southeastern AR. A band like them comes around once in a while.
This Texas girl is so excited. I've seen them in concert several times

Man when I saw the notification this wave of positivity and four energy came out I’m so excited for them to be back
I saw Turnpike Troubadour at the Houston Rodeo and a small venue in Baton Rogue. The were the best live show in a monster crowd and 600 capacity room.
This news has certainly made my whole year!
That’s music to my ears! Was never available when they played near me and just recently Kyle Nix was playing here but had family visiting. 3rd times a charm.

Great to see you excited again!!
SEEING THEM IN 3 DAYS @Cains !!!! HELL YEAH!!
Seeing them tonight at Billy Bob's in the pit😚♥️
Maybe now we can talk about Shane Smith and the Saints? 😁
I couldn’t be happier! What great news.
Grady is as giddy as a kid about to get on their first roller coaster in this video XD
Need an updated Fiddle & Steele 2024 shirt!!
Hallelujah!
Still remember showing up to the House of Blues Chicago and getting told to go home. Absolutely brutal timeline after that, glad the bands back together and didn't let this tear them apart forever.
Thank you for the introduction!
My favourite video of yours is the top 10 brad paisley songs. Keep up the good work!
Grady I’m glad they are back and I’m sure as hell happy that you are back. I’m glad you are doing well and I always look forward to your videos.
Oh how I've longed for this news!!
1:12 yes that is Ian and no it’s not an Ian concert. I was there that night, and he was opening for COJO actually, he was awesome though.
Yay, it makes me so happy to see Grady excited
