"I like my cars loud but my keyboards silent" lmao
No answers? Lemme fix that
Same
Step one : have friends
Step two : supply them a barebones
Step three : OMG DONT OVERLUBE
Step 1 failed
@@apigzlmao
I feel for the people who can't have "loud" keyboards in the office. I lucked out - my office mate loves the sound of my loud-as-heck typing on my thocky keyboard!
lol😭
I dont works 👍👍👍👍

"I like my cars loud and my keyboards silent"
There she is, my long lost twin
i knew there were others like me
My brother doesn't even care about his keyboard, He said mine was too loud so i tried building him a silent one and he still don't want it HAHAH
Is this keyboard aluminium?
I mean, most people really just don't care about having a fancy mechanical keyboard
ay bro can u slide me the keyboard if he ain't takin it
@@Drainalyse I mean I asked if he wants me to build him a silent keyboard but he said he dont want it, sorry
@@ParalyzedPenguin- no need to say sorry 😅 I was just joking lol
I thought you and all your friends lived in a creamy keyboard heaven! 😂
5:53 - Maybe I'm weird. But I just can't find it in myself to split my keyboard apart like butt cheeks. That Numpad has been there since I started learning Key-Fu
That was a um... strange comparison lmao
The fact people don't value how much faster number input is on a numpad blows my mind. The only use 1-0 should get is when typing passwords or being used as hotkeys in games, other than that every number should be typed with numpad key-fu in a flurry of keystrokes.
Great choice, I too use the WS silent tactiles in my work keyboard!
Ayy congrats on 1m subs, I’m kinda glad you brang these types of videos back. I missed seeing you not being lonely.
“ I hate loud cars”!
Meanwhile his garage:
Just the loudest Hellcat and SVJ
Nah Nola isn’t a hellcat she’s a heavencat lmao
Svj can is just heaven
@@Boydman fair point
"I kinda like this one" as she tries out the Promise87. Girl almost just casually walked away with like a $500 keyboard 💀
The process of finding what you like is always so interesting. I didn't really even test the feel of too many things when I built my first, just had two pre-builts before it and a TON of YT videos to gauge the sound profile I wanted.
It was a tad intimidating, but the biggest hurdle for me is always just sticking with it when something feels like it's taking too long. Ripping off stock caps and switches is soooo booring. Super rewarding process in the end though and been absurdly happy with mine for a year now. I really do want to build a proper split keeb now that I have an Alice layout one. I do recommend protecting your arms and hands with an ergonomic keeb.
great vid hipyo! congrats for 1M! keep it up!
Really loved this one! Great for beginners who want quiet keyboards and a simple build. I learned a lot and Regina's awesome. Feature her again! :)
Thanks for this vid! Appreciate you helping Regina do a different build (non-click, non-thock) than you normally do. And the ‘tude was great
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I just can't go tenkey-less. My numpad was there when I started my key tapping journey and I refuse to part with it.
When was the last time you used your numpad
@@Squiddyikarustoday 😅
bro can i be your friend
I have the same preference in cars and keyboards as Regina. Love this video! Good mix of fun and info.
full-layout represent!
Love these videos! Congrats on 1m!!!
Just got my Rainy75. It's so good 😊 thanks for making videos!
Where and when did you buy it? It’s out of stock everywhere 😢
Congrats on 1mil subs!!
You’re so kind hipyo!
As a quiet key lover, I definitely want to try out those Wuque switches for my second build, but i need a numpad and don't really like the 96% size
Typing on my GEM80 right now! I went with the blue and picked up switches, caps and a wrist rest. Sadly the profile and caps were for me but yea at the price, just buy them. Put GMK Striker and Cream Blacks on mine. Ragina did a great job, very fun video! I'm sure she will love the GEM80!
Mr. Hipyo, thanks to you, I just build my own custom keyboard for the first time
You had successfully convince me that choosing the parts & building are fun
And it's correct indeed 😊😊
Ooh, I've been looking for a purple keycap set and that Octopus one looks great! Gonna have to see whether or not I'll have to import them haha
I just started watching your channel and Regina rocks, do more first timer stuff!
Thank god for this video. Just yesterday i realized the switches i decided on 4 years ago have started triggering my migraines. Need to switch it up.
i would like too see some gaming perspective feedback of the keyboards u work with like latency and stuff like this, over all i really like ur videos
Your channel influenced me to take an old Corsair Vengeance K70, clean it up, get some new caps, lazy lube the switches and stuff cotton in the chassis (tape mod PCB too). It THOCS! Thanks for educating me and I wish I would have done this long ago.
Congrats on 1M subs!
Finally Nuphy. Would love to hear Hipyo thoughts on their Air series
i just got me a keychron k8 pro for my first one! and some really nice keycaps, i hope it turns out as good as i imagine it to be.
Love all your vids, got me into loving custom keyboards and wanting to build them myself new hobby now ig lol 😅😂
I always want that keycaps, unfortunately it'll be very expensive to import it here to my country 😥. That's one very cool keyboard btw, loving the build!
Try the malonic gateron switches. It is a very clean and much more quiet. You don't need to, but its just cool that I could listen to clicky switches without going insane
just realising hipyo hit 1 million subs!!!
CONGRATS HIPYO!!!
CONGRATS ON 1M SUBS ❤
I Love Regina. Great Vibe & Energy. Wishing you Good Health, Happiness, Love & Prosperity! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
"I like my cars loud and my keyboard silent" Bro I felt that
What are your desktop wallpapers? Especially the beachy one? PS just binged ALL your UA-cam videos over the course of 2 weeks, very good stuff 👍
i'm looking for it too
yooo 1m subs congrat!
This is great! My next project is silent office keyboard.
Thank you Hipyo. This vid took away my sadness and brought me the joy of keyboard.
Hipyo I don’t know if you’ll see this but I was wondering in your wooden keyboard SHORT what are the specs and mods? Anything you remember helps
Never noticed the icon before, but Hipyo playing OSRS makes so much sense
I just got a Gem80 to build for my girlfriend and ooooooo boy this thing sounds lovely right out of the box with the mint switches. I got the lilac one, which pairs perfectly with the PolyCaps Hippo set (her favorite animal, luckily!). I am so jealous as her keyboard now sounds and feels much better than mine. I think I might get my own in the Cosmic Mocha color to match with your Coffee Shop keys!
Damn it Hipyo you got wanting to build with those switches for work to replace my G915
I thought I was done with a modded Keychron Q1 and MX Purples for my Home Keyboard.
Just subbed, love your videos and watching this one were you talk about numpads. Didn't search yet, have you made a video about them and if not can you ? :)
Will edit if you already made one ♥
You have been blessed by hipyo the keyboard wizard
Do not resist
What do you think about the new Wooting 80he so far?
I actually was on the fence when it came to building my own keyboard but I actually followed through after watching this video. I went really well but I would not recommend getting the gem80 at this moment because out the box it came with some issues like keys not registering and spacebar double-clicking which were both not solved with a firmware update, apparently this is a common issue. Besides those issues with the gem80 the wuque silent tactile switches work perfectly and I would recommend getting them.
would you have any other recommendation for a nice keyboard? im really looking around and there are so many options and so many youtubers are sponsored so im skeptical on taking their word. I like Linear non tectile switches and around the 200$ price point
LET'S GO, REGINA! though my heart hurts at just how quiet the keyboard is. i say this as someone who just finished making a quiet one for my coworker and will have to make a 2nd one for another... i never thought a 21 pilots lyric would hit so hard, but "quiet is violent"...
Hey hipyo! Could you do a review on the cub65? I heard it was as good as the QK65 if you remember that keyboard from 2022.
Hipyo please review the "Aula F75". I really want to get it, but I need to see a review from Hipyo first ;)
Good to see another character edition to the HCU.
I wanted to buy my first custom Keyboard, I saw ceramic keycaps they looked and sounded nice but are very expensive, what are you thought on them?
Can you make a video of ceremic Keycaps?
Hey I have a question. What is better among these two if I want to make thocky keyboard: case foam or tape mod. Also can i use both, how it affects the sound and is it worth it? I'm trying to make my first custom so I want to know. I don't care about what is cheaper in this scenario. I'll appreciate your help
I got a challenge for you, build a custom keyboard with nordic ISO!
Perfectly timed upload! Just went on break 😂
I have that same keyboard for work. However, I just use my Corsair k95 platinum instead. It's not silent, but I don't actually want a silent keyboard. Cherry MX speed switches are perfect for typing and gaming.
How you dare to insult my office QK65!
Fun video. Love your diy friends content. :D
DIY Friends sounds like you are making your own friends, piece by piece
@@GirlPlus xD Roger that. ^^
loud cars are cool but by changing from a ceramic catalytic converter to a metallic cat it can generate an even better sound and isnt obnoxiously loud
If you're in a Hipyo Tech video just know, you're getting a cool keyboard, but you gotta build it, and somehow lube will come into play 😂
At this point, I don't know how your friends don't expect to build their own keyboards everytime you offer lmao
You mentioned that there are other keyboards at a better value than the Gem 80. Which are those other boards?
What are better barbones ⌨️ for the budget builder? I'm just playing games and not using this for work.
this keyboard is a silent thocky one, i love it.
Okay, so given this I have a silly question. I have a Redragon K552 (because it was cheap, duh) with brown switches which I then modded the stabs and lubed the switches in and was a lot happier with the sound, but I do share an office with two other guys and I am rather rough when typing. Are there any tactile silent switches that work with these boards that you would recommend? And are the switches even what is going to let me achieve a quieter board or should I be thinking more about foam and keycaps? I will say that I have tried gaskets dampeners on the keycaps and I hate them, I can't stand how squishy everything feels with them on.
I have steel series apex pro with numpad on my desk at work. That keyboard is so nice to type on
Nice guide and also guy 😊
15:47 "...I think it's a little bit overpriced. As you could get a fully built keyboard with similar specs for about $106." May you share what keyboards those are? Thanks!
Was about to buy the Gem80 then I heard you say that! Going to do a similar silent switch build using Haimu Whisper Silent Tactile Switches.
Ceramic keycaps are the absolute best imo bit everyone do theyre own, oh and also theyre rly expensive (180$)
Hi Hipyo, I am looking to buy a keyboard for under a hundred dollars (barebones or prebuilt I don't really mind) then I will buy switches and keycpas to build it out my self. If I want a decent quality aluminum board which has lots of potential for modding and improvement, what would you suggest? (Currently looking at SK71 or Monsgeek M1)
'am I aloud to make these kinda jokes around girls' aw we stan a self aware king
Ok sure you have been asked many times but if you were to buy a wireless tkl off the shelf or amazon whatever that you can mod if you wish but are fairly still satisfied with its current state what keyboard would that be? Just curious as I am kinda lazy and pretty much only on keycap changing level
love you hipyo❤
Yay 1m subs congrats
I'm with you on the loud car vs silent car debate. Cars are not meant to sound like Monster Trucks!
Awn, Regina is so cool!
Straight pipes and silent keyboards FTW!!!
this guy gets it
congrats on 1m
What switches feel closest to a Model-M? I've been using a Model M for (does math) 30 years, but I'd really like a 10keyless.
Thinking of building my first keyboard. My friends who build them regularly as a hobby buy parts off Ali express. Due to the prices I’m tempted to do the same but I’m not too sure, any advice???
My clicky keyboard at the office is much more quite than my colleagues keyboards. Its a foamy board with Kailh Box White V2. My closest colleague has a linear keyboard and its loud AF!
congrats on 1mil subs
Best ISO boards video please for us Rest of the World gang 🙏🏻
And for video context, I’m rocking a GMK67 with Otemu Silent Peach and some BoW Ali clones - it’s so much better for my wrists and fingers than the shitty ones at work and all in cost like £60/$75
Every video with Regina is a pure delight, I love her 😂
and she loves you ❤
I absolutely 2nd this sentiment!
I just ordered parts for my office keyboard and wanted those gem caps so bad cause of the little kitty 😂
What keycaps were the ones showed for the Cherry profile (the white ones with cyan spacebar)? They look so good
I need a good 106 key full size keyboard that is well built. I need the spaced out numpad. I wish we would have similar recommendations for a full size keyboard. This company, at most, sells a 96 key keyboard that doesn’t work for me given the unusual arrangement.
Keychron Q series?
Do you know any good sources for ISO keykaps with special keys for German for example?
Quote of the day:
"i like my cars loud but my keyboards silent"
I was laughing so much at this but good lord no loud cars 😂
Really noob question about the Gem80, how do you install a switch for the caps lock key? It doesn’t look like the right configuration for the Wuque Silent ones I picked out
Joke's on you, Hipyo. I already have a Zoom TKL at the office!
Where can I get those keycaps you had on the Tactile keyboard example? I love that grey transparent look, would be awesome for my husbands white keyboard.
I'm building one for my mom and I was surprised that she liked clicky switches. I almost felt betrayed.
Regina was awesome and funny as hell, great keyboard also!
i try
