Great information…thanks for sharing👍 I was out there yesterday and everyone was hooking up on WSB and butts. They shot me your link and love it. Thanks, see ya out there😎
Can you do a follow up video showing the rap on the single hook? I want to make sure I have it right. I fish out of Morro and San Luis as well. Thanks Cap!
Thanks for the tutorial on ball bouncing bro. I noticed you utilize the dodgers more frequently than flashers. Do you prefer the action of the dodgers over flashers with the rigs that you use?
I guess everyone does it a little differently. Looks like a money rig to me ! We never used crimps and we used a lot lighter line . I like your hoochie rig . We used hoochies but my favorite was a Scottie Bait bait hood with a live sardine!
I like using crimps there pretty cheap doesn’t cost much I know I dont need them but they look a lot nicer , one rig will last me the whole season using 80lb mono
@@fv_hightide Our best day for quantity was from Pecho to the lighthouse with 3 guys ,we landed 18 legals! All the really big ones came from the coke plant ! But we did get a couple 22 + lbers out front!
Hi - Great video. Question on the troll - so you indicated 1.8 - 2 MPH - are you basically dragging the ball on the sand? How far back is the line typically and how deep are you targeting for the Halibut? Thanks
Your not dragging the ball , it’s more of a bounce of the ball hitting the bottom, I use a 3 lb ball for the weight and it goes back a good distance before it even hits the bottom , I fish depths from 40 all the way up to 150
@@fv_hightide Right on! Thank you for the great advice. Do you ever do a group fishing trip where multiple boats go out? I have a 17' little center console with a 50HP outboard and small kicker. I'm closer to Channel Island harbor.
@@fv_hightide Thanks. I was out Sunday up north of Morro Bay near the abalone farm area. We did OK on some rock fish and Blue bass, but the seas were rolling and I got sick. I hate that. Thanks for all the great vids and information you guys put out, it really helps.

That setup is money
Yes they are high quality, one rig last me years and I have never lost a set up due to a snag

Thanks bro You need a dodger when it comes to running a hoochie it gives it the right action , without the dodger the hoochie wouldn’t move
@@fv_hightide That makes sense. I learned something new today. Thanks again bro
@@TugLifeFisherman it’s almost prime halibut time , get rigged up
can you tell us whats the name of the hoothies and where to buy em? thanks!
Got damned keeper.
Great video! Can you give a lil more information? Like what size weight? For what depths? To get the right bounce at 1.8 to 2 mph?
I always use a 3 lb ball no matter the depth
@@fv_hightide awesome thanks for the response! Do you recommend a shop or online to get the 8in hooches and sparkly things?
@@ernestgil6721 I get mine at west marine in Santa Barbara

Thanks for the sub I greatly appreciate that !! Yes try trolling I think you’ll like it , cover more water , lmk how it goes
I wanna go fishing
Let’s go !!
Then go
Why the weight is so heavy? Why 3lb?
The deeper with the water the heavier the weight you need to make sure it stays on the bottom
