Another topic: Do you also use Hooks, like the Talon, cliffhanger or grappling hooks from BD? Could you film your experiences with that? And how do you like these anchoring options in Urban environments, placed in concrete?

I have a very large collection of aid climbing hardware (so yes Talon, Grappling hooks, Cillhanger from BD but also Leeper cam hooks, beaks etc) that I have assembled over the last 40 years. I use it when I go aid soloing. I will do a tactical anchoring video for urban environments as soon as I can. The teaser video is up for this now where we use Cadex parapet hooks & so forth. Stay tuned as we have many more concepts for videos. Cheers!
Thanks for a great video! A question: How small can you go with the Angles, knifeblades/bugaboos, and Lost Arrows? (for creating a 2-piece or 3-piece anchor like you do in the video)
Hi Eric. I guess it's going to be a function of the rock that will determine holding power. In bulletproof granite or limestone a cluster of really small pins is going to be super solid. I've always been amazed at just how hard blades & Bugaboos are to get out; that surface area creates incredible holding friction. In dubious rock, say like the sandstone we have where I live, small pins would be a real concern since I'd be worried about the substrate failing. I can't give you a definitive on this... its an area where you just need to get out and put a whole lot of pins in to get a sense of what they can do.
