Actualy the knuckle was rather small, but perfect for one person, usualy we (czechs) are eating bigger ones, but we are sharing that for two or sometimes three people, but its just the way how to eat it . Of course if you are really hungry and you are able to eat big knuckle by yourself, then just enjoy ! :)

As a local Prague guy I know this restaurant - its a new one in this area - I have been the twice yet - this koleno portion was a size between touristic portion and the normal one - touristic portion is 700g including the bone, normal size should have at least 1000g including the bone - usually around 1200g/1,2 kgs. There has been a trend to have its own beer tanks in such a types of restaurants/city-style-pubs, and when the restaurant has (well its a must to motivate the customers) so it must be located in the most visible spot in the restaurant. then there are more traditional pubs (different category) - where the "must of existence" is really huge big screen TV - when bigger place - more TV´s. This type of pubs offers typical Czech-pub-food-and-snacks like nowhere else.. and of course the best beer in the world - the Czech beer. Its mostly cold food - but for example the "Devil´s toasts" is a hot dish, soups are hot etc… You would be very surprised how simple pub food can be HELL GOOOOOOD - its proofed by around 7 generations - counted from around 1850 when the mass production started, But there are Czech braweries with non stop production from 14th century... Make a special video about this! More and more popular have been in recent few years are the pubs that offer various beers from regional Czech small, very small and family breweries. This pubs varies into two lines - the first continuously change the offer of the beers - so once they down the keg, they have another brand on the tap.. So every month different brands. The other line is that they have one or two stable brands and another 2-3 that change also very often… There is one Prague pub chain called Beer Museum" - just a chain brand" - that offer 20 different small beer brands on tap and change it continuously. Another Prague chain called "The Pub" has a different concept - every table has its own tap directly in the middle of every guest table - well it has its digital couter so you cant cheat ...- and it counts every beer drop...

First we are landlocked country so sea fish in the medieval time was here only conserved in salt and its really different from fresh sea fish ;) Chicken was more common but usualy the people centuries ago prefered to have the eggs from hens than to kill young chicken to eat, and pigs they are not giving the eggs and the pork could be conservated in fat and its actualy also more tasty than chicken meat so thatś why we are such pork eaters :D

Ross and Bek, czech restaurants will need you when the lockdown ends. Start dieting, recruit friends. Remember it is cheaper eating this than drinking water in London. Save living expenses by camping in camps with tent or caravan, that gives you freedom to visit castles and nature - there is plenty of places undiscovered by foreign tourists, who go Prague -> Č. Krumlov -> Vienna Try Becherovka or Fernet as aperitive (liquors). Try czech wine, like Pálava. Fruit dumplings are main dish, not dessert, it is also seasonal food - only fresh fruit should go inside, best are those made from plumes. Try some game - like boars. Pork can´t hold a candle next to boar meat, try to find it with "Šípková omáčka" or sauce made of plumes (švestková omáčka). Try food made of mushrooms, unlike other nations we have quite a few. Try international film festival in Karlovy Vary in summer. Do you miss your culture after a while? - visit your favourite band´s concert when they have tour here but pay our ticket prices!
There are better spots for koleno in Prague (Pork's is super touristy). Little tip: if anybody wants to pronounce it to a server in Prague, it's KO-le-no as opposed to ko-LEN-o
I'm glad you both enjoyed the food in my homeland. However, if I ate as much of it in one row as you did even in this combination, I would then shit in my pants and vomit at the same time and I would not have time to go to the local toilet.😁
