A light snack for the mighty Yoyoka
That’s hardly a light snack.
@@Richard-wh9wmTo her it is grasshopper !
Exactly! 😆 She is so incredible.
I have never seen anyone play Tool so relaxed and fluidly. Wow.
Her superpower is making it seem like she could step in and be the drummer for whatever band she's covering. Even when she was 7, her "Good Times/Bad TImes" sounded more authentic than everyone else's.
I've seen someone, Danny, one of the few real GOAT, and this song is one of their hard ones to play. I'm stunned.
This girl is so talented. It's impossible to not love her. I feel honored to have able to watch her grow and her skills expand and refine over the years. I feel like she's an almost close relative. I want her to succeed and conquer her goals, dreams, and wishes. I couldn't want this any more if she were my own child.
So many of us feel as you do.
Her talent has grown beyond our comprehension like trying to imagine the Universe in our mind or putting our finger on it..
I texted this to Danny, turns our he's already subscribed and was beaming with joy already.
Her future is brighter than our sun, and I absolutely love it.
Keep it up, making everyone else happy to retire knowing the drumming world has another legend in the making.
Who is Danny?
Never mind, I guess he's a drummer of Tool ?
I'm very happy to hear that he likes it😊
@@rockingrandma4711 yes, that's their drummer. I think he's going to post something on Instagram when he gets the time, folks like yoyoka need to be encouraged to the absolute maximum.
Absolutely !!
Thank you for your response.
I never heard this song or the band Tool before till YOYO introduced to me, just like many other different types of music than the kinds of music that I used to listenin to in my days.
After many listens, this music really started to grow on me and I can say that I LIKE IT!!
There is something different about it. 😊
My same thought. I asked my son if he liked tool and he said one of his favorite bands. So i made him listen to this. He is not a yoyoka fan. Never really gave me a response. My first time listening to tool and this song is growing on me and i have listened many times. Reactors and just her channel. Great drumming. Her home at last steely dan is great also@@rockingrandma4711
Yoyoka brings her characteristic “swing” to Tool, and doesn’t even break a sweat. Amazing❤️
there was one point she was really focusing but the rest of it was on cruise control for her. she's that good :)
@Hobodeluxe960 I agree 👍.
That might be the same swing that makes me prefer Yoyoka’s YYZ over the original although Neil Peart obviously is a technically better drummer.
What's so impressive is that she really makes this song her own. She even ads some things that Danny Carey wasn't doing. Those ghost notes on the snare for the part that starts at 1:57 are things of beauty and they weren't in the original. They work, they support the vocal, and they're incredibly precise. She makes the groove sound more intuitive and rock n' roll throughout the first half.
That is the YOYOKA Effect!
She knows exactly what she's doing. It's in her blood somehow.
Pete Best didn't seem to have that. Hmm ... Where did he go?
I guess this song was too easy for her, so she added ghost notes to make it more challenging. 😀😀
I love when Yoyoka adds her own flair to the songs. That is why I prefer to say what she is doing is her interpretation, not just the cover.
It's all over, she covered Danny and did it in total boss mode. RESPECT
The first time she played it was live with no rehearsal at the Whisky A Go Go
Danny Carey would be impressed with this effortless performance, I hope he gets to see it. Great as always Yoyo and very enjoyable to watch. Thank you. Pat 🏴
I live in NY, but might have to fly to LA soon just to see Yoyoka play live. This young lady is making history.
I flew from Toronto to LV to see her live in April! Do it!
I am definitely going to seek out one of her performances when I'm in the states.
Ever been to the Bermuda Triangle jumper?
I live in Toronto, Yonge and Dundas.
My wings don't work like they used to.@@Rob-Yule
Wow! I'd long hoped to hear Yoyoka cover Tool, and she did not disappoint. Here's hoping we hear covers of Pneuma and Schism in due course.
I've been watching your channel since when you could barely reach the base and hi-hat pedals. But even back then I said to myself, "someday Yoyoka will play Forty Six & 2 and it will be glorious," and it IS glorious. Great cover!
She performed this at the Whiskey a week or so ago - no rehearsal with a tight live band!
Please tell me someone recorded it. @@chrisegbertky
@@misterfugazi4110 It's on her Pateron page
Yoyoka's cooking here, and by that I mean she's a master chef in the kitchen effortlessly whipping up a gourmet dish with ease and confidence!
This was her best recording yet. The left-right separation through my Sonus Faber speakers makes it seem like I’m right there. My wife just yelled from the other room for me to turn it down. 😂
You just have to say you are sorry but some things just have to be played loud and you will make it up to her. Pump up the volume pump up the volume pump up the volume check it out brothers and sisters!
@@keithallpress9885, haha! 😂
Success! 😆
No…Turn it up!
Show her this video and then she'll understand and become a fan. lol
Let's forget for a minute about her monstrous technique. How about that drum tuning? That snare sounds ridiculous, and those toms are just killing it. She is the consummate player.
you know I'm a little embarrassed forbwhat I'm about to say but I actually had a tear for sheer happiness in my eye when she nailed that triplet part like a freakingnptofesor the concentration on her face I've been watching her grow since she was just a little girl .she just keeps getting better and better ELP I would love to hear
It’s refreshing to hear a young drummer of this time who actually allows her drums to ring out with glorious sustain. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Say no to flat, dead sounding drums!! Wonderful playing, young lady 🫶🏻✌🏻
Hear hear!
The covers help pay the bills, but you can see she's ready for the next level. We should start seeing Yoyoka's creativity start to break through. The future is exciting.
She is working on new music with a producer and a singer/songwriter now. We think she might be laying down bass lines as well as drums!
You're not wrong, but do you realize how absolutely insane it is to say "she's ready for the next level" right after covering Danny -freaking- Carey to perfection!???
Covers do not pay bills. The YT money goes to the copyright holders. So covers cost money! Originals do pay bills.
She recorded two jazz albums this year.
Working on the new song just now.
And she would like to record her own album, but that is very costly. That is the problem.
Yeah, making music is an expensive hobby.
It's funny, when you watch the progress of someone like this from a young age, they almost are like your own child. I'm actually beaming with pride for yoyoka. She is definitely fully realizing the potential she has always had and can't wait to see where she goes!
My Yoyoka Top Three (in no particular order): 1) This one, 2) "What is Hip?", and 3) "Speed King".
People in here not knowing Tool is kind of funny. But if you liked this amazing cover you are in for another treat. Load up that Tool playlist.
She made this look almost boring for her to play, so effortless. Great job!
HEEEELLLL YEAHHH!!!! YOYOKA KILLING IT!!! more tool songs please!!!!
Yoyoka you knock me out and bring me to tears every time! Truly world-class talent.
いつか見たいと思ってたTOOLまでやってくれるとかマジか。。ダニーケアリーのオクトパスなドラムもっとカバーしてほしい!(世界中のTOOLファンからのコメントの嵐が来る予感...)
Absolutely sublime, I didn't know this group and Yoyoka introduces us to a whole new musical universe. My God, Yoyoka is growing up at great speed.
Tool i a prog rock rabbit hole, some really good stuff but not everyone is a fan. check out the song "The Pot" for one of their more popular songs.
From the song's Wiki page
"The song is mostly in 4/4 time with some sections of 7/8 in between. In the intro, Danny Carey plays four measures of 7/8 on his ride cymbal over the rest of the band playing in 4/4, and they all meet up on the downbeat of the 5th measure in 4/4. During the bridge there are three measures of 7/8 followed by one measure of 4/4. During a particular quad fill, the drums are in 3/8, the guitar plays one measure of 9/8 followed by one in 5/8 all while the bass keeps time in 7/8.[6] Most of the song is written in D Phrygian dominant scale, also known as the fifth mode of the G harmonic minor scale."
@@slowbluesmaster Ah, that explains it! I thought I heard an unusual time signature, but when I started counted it was 4/4, so I thought I'd imagined it.
Have fun getting in the tool rabbit hole!
Tool has been around for a very long time. Has some very talented musicians with their drummer being exceptionally fantastic. Lead singer has an incredibly unique voice as well. The band is very dark and at times strange and they should be listened to at a high volume. Worth your time to review their catalog. I think you'll enjoy it.
makes it her own, laid back with space, it breathes
Yoyoka plays that like you're supposed to.
Amazing, Just Freaking Amazing - Love Tool but few can play their complicated arrangements.
I very rarely comment on videos but this is phenomenal, for any drummer let alone somebody so young. Wow
Thank you for covering Tool. Tool is amazing to see live. It is heavy, and complex. But it has a deep groove.
That was sick! Move over...there's a new sheriff in town. YOYOKA isn't just the coolest kid on the block, she's one of the most insanely talented drummers on the planet. Bravo!!!!
Yoyoka! You are the Best of the World!
Terrific playing. Tool is pretty complex. Wow.
old dude 72, whose birthday is 2 days earlier than Yoyoka's. Have absolutely enjoyed her video's since the 4yo learning to this video, Looking forward to 14th birthday celebration on the 12th. Y's development as a drummer is extraordinary and a constant source of delight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just my humble opinion, but I think Yoyoka is the best drummer the world has seen and she has only just begun, well 10 years ago but still so young and so talented.
YOYOKA! 😮 Abso-freakin-lutely!! I've been following you a while now, I remember not so long ago you starting your channel! Now this, is the way to play TOOL! 🤘😝🥁🎶🎶🎶
It’s one thing to do something so well, but it’s a different thing altogether to do it with such ease. This is a front row seat to what it looks like when a person and their calling find each other.
期待をいつも超えてくのね。。ごいすー。曲がもっているものを邪魔しないどころか増幅させる魔力。ごいすー。
4:33 is the start to greatness. Great job ❤
Fantastic! Your performance live of this at Whisky was amazing for no rehearsal and the whole band was excellent. This solo cover lets us see all the intricacies going on!
Would LOVE to see more Tool. Been watching your covers for years and you amaze me every time. Thanks Yoyoka!
Brilliant and beautiful. This young woman brings me such joy.
TOOL‼️よよかさんがまさかTOOLを演奏するとは‼️選ぶバンドも選曲も素晴らしい👏あの超絶変態バンドの曲をこうまで安定して叩けるとかバケモノすぎる😂
YOYOKA can play anything with five fingers and it's her other five fingers and ten toes that makes her special.
How she makes it look effortlees and mundane always amazes me! Exceptionnal! Congratulations and thank you Yoyoka!
I’ve been waiting to see Yoyoka cover some Tool, and it was worth the wait. Great, effortless performance as usual! 😎👍
And the prize for most accurate , most entertaining , utterly flawless cover of Forty Six & 2 goes to ^^^^^^^
Yaaaaayyy Yoyoka! Working the Tool. Yaaaaayyy Yoyoka! she is awesome! Perfect timing! I love Yoyoka more! ❤
I'd love to hear Danny Carey's reaction. Yoyoka freaking nails it! 😎
Daniel Edwin Carey (born May 10, 1961)[1] is an American musician and songwriter. He is the drummer for the American rock band Tool.
He was ranked among the 100 greatest drummers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, occupying the 26th position,. Yoyoka smoked this thing.
Yoyoka was ranked in the top 500 all time at age11 and she definitely nailed it.👍
Fantastic performance, as always. Danny Carey needs to see this. ❤
Such a talented, hard-working, and beautiful young lady!
Making TOOL drumbeats look like a cakewalk 🤘😄 you almost looked bored in some parts 😎 you just continue to amaze me! 👏 Happy early birthday too btw! 🥳🎂
Agreed😂
I think that is concentration, when it comes easy she's usually all smilles.
I like the lighting. Gives a 1970s’ basement vibe.
Oh yeah!
Wow playing some tool now! Nice🤘
Awesome! I'm a huge Danny Carey fan and huge Yoyoka fan😁
Can´t believe I how long I´ve been watching her drum. From a little kid to this young female. I feel old..
Whatever she is playing, she sees the whole and all the components at the same time. She expressly performes every passage as its own composition, building toward a crescendo of composite perfection. (Yes, I write fiction. So what!)
Fantastic, effortless cover! And a great arrangement of this piece for playing on a kit that's maybe half the size of what Danny Carey uses. Bravo!
As usual Yoyoka brings her tools to work and makes light work of a Tool cover
Greeting from Manchester, New Hampshire. I've been following your journey for several years now. You are so fun to watch your playing. As a former drummer, you blow my mind. Cheers
well, I got nothing to add but we gotta say
Fearless, and strait ahead / 'n' up, is the only way
left for U to go. Oh, 🥂🎉🎊🎆🥁♎.
and Happy Birthday (whenever that was,) 'twas mine
on Monday.
Woo wee!
This was so easy, Yoyo was probably solving an advanced math problem at the same time in her head to keep her occupied. 😀
I am stunned! マジ?
Yoyoka-ちゃん covers TOOL. Flawlessly.
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION... and in an off-time song as well! Great job girl! Glad to see the goofy faces and stick-wave again!
A master is someone that can make something incredibly difficult look easy.
Right On !
I wish you could see me smiling I knew the queen of covers would get around to this song sooner or later you did a wonderful job
it was all great but those last two minutes with my jaw on the floor 😮😳
Getting around watching the second time have goose bumps on my arms I love this song
Excellent! Even all ghost notes are matching perfectly.
Happy birthday, Yoyoka, and let the good times roll!
Awesome performance of course as always. We would love to see you with a really good A/V recording studio of your own.. I know moving is hard and adjustments need to be made. We can wait I guess. Good luck, Amazing Girl.
Yoyoka is an absolutely incredible musician. The nuance speed and timing in her playing just gets better and better. Bravo!
You got the job baby girl❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stunning. So in the pocket she seems to be other worldly.
OMG!! one take?! you are definitely a drumming genius!! love tool! and love your work too!
Dang, this is pro session drummer level. Flawless, no mistakes, perfect timing, one take.
She been doing session work .
@@wayne7725 As she should be! I would hire her, it would cut down on drum edits. haha
