"Israelites" is his too. Once you get out of rocksteady and on to early reggae (and not ignoring his significant contribution to all those Treasure Isle rocksteady cuts), that core studio "band" he was in with Hux Brown, Gladdy Anderson, Paul Douglas, Winston Wright & others, recorded for so many different producers, creating some of the very best music of its era. It's hard to top that Maytals output on Beverly's alone. I hope Jackie's in good health. His spirit is always the same and he's a joy to hear talk.
Hi Jackie I knew this bassist from I was a teenager he played in the mighty vigil a at the sombrero club lots os us teenager used to go out that was good days.

I thought Aston Barrett was Bob Marley’s bass player.
Barrett worked with Marley since Lee Perry production. songs like Hypocrite were before the Barrett.
@@ackeemonkeemuzik3791 thanks.
This was long before Aston Barrett became involved.
@@two9parkave Aston Barrett is a Wailer, correct? What year did he become their bass player?
@@3MUnique Sometime in 1973 when Bob signed with Chris Blackwell.
Prior to that he was with the band call the Upsetters.
