I think the all the rain and weather we had this past season completely reinvigorated the fishing this year. Everything is around, they are big, and in big numbers. Halibut, stripers, and perch. It's been a great spring since the beginning of April. I am getting halibut and striper bites in areas that don't usually turn on until much later in the season as well. To bad the Salmon season was nixed this year, but if the remainder of the year is like this, you won't find me complaining.
That slug barred surf perch in the thumbnail is the biggest i've ever seen! Have surf fished for them (and corbina) most of my life in so. Cal using sandcrabs for bait. Great catch!
Nice slabs! Bring a v-groove hook sharpener to touch up those hook points when you're out there. They are small but gives piece of mind and ensure needle sharp points while you're out there. Cheers!
I literally grew up fishing barred perch in Southern California and thats got to be the biggest I've ever seen ! Great job and great channel always. Utah is watching 😊
Dad always taught me to fish 2 hrs before high tide, basically fishing the in coming tide. We did very well between Bolsa Chica state beach and Laguna Beach. Seemed winter was always mega perch. Back in '70's we would pull all nighters on Belmont pier and catch basically anything including 5 lb Sargo perch . If you know where Longbeach marine stadium is, then at the end of the stadium towards starting line is flood gates that let's the sea water into Colorado Lagoon. Fish the lagoon by the gates with a fly lined frozen anchovy. Used to get big bay bass out of there.
I checked the expanded view of the BG4000 it appears to be the roller clutch that is giving you a problem. It's a simple remove and replace parts swap. Good video, nice fish.
@@xImFasa if that is to our channel. We are trying, we gotta catch some fish. Been getting a lot of small ones and videos aren’t too entertaining. We will keep trying. If you mean die hard, then yea please more videos
What do you think about using a chest mount vs a headcam? I feel like I can capture slightly more with the head cam, but I look around so much when I’m fishing it’s probably disorienting to watch lmao
Adam I love these videos, I’m from Hawaii grew up catching fish my whole life. We moved to Las Vegas Nevada. I don’t like the freshwater fish here there’s a very different taste to it. I’ve been watching you catch the surf perch and I’ve always wondered what they taste like and how would you compare that to some of the fish in Hawaii? They look Like they are good tasting fried fish. And every time you hold one of those fish up I wanna fire up my frying pan ha ha ha ha
Best white meat fish 1. Sheepshead 1b. Wahoo 2. Sea Bass 3. Halibut 4. Almost every rock fish Red meat 1. Bluefin 2. Albacore 2b. Salmon 3. Yellowfin 4. Bonito 4b. King Mackerel or Sierras Surf perch tastes like trigger fish and both are good IMO
I was really looking forward to meeting you bro.. but I woke up super sick and won't be able to make it to the basspro. Hope ya'll have fun! Take some shorts if you can!👍
Adam I love your videos. Quick question. I just bought a few lucky crafts I’ve always just used grub. I noticed you tie on your leader a snap to your lure but without the swivel barrel that let’s it spin freely. I assume the snap is to easily change from one lure to the next but why don’t use the part that swivels it along with the snap? Do you not want it to spin? Please advise. Thanks Ted
I remember you trying some lures from Japan, but have you ever tried the Jackson Pin Tail Ez 45? It’s a 45 gram jerk bait the profile of the LC and yes the casting distance is fn amazing and it produces… They have a sardine (your favorite) color too🍻
What is your new GoPro mount? The view is good. Seems to be a bit higher and over to the left. Does not seem to be a shoulder mount. I this mount better.
What kind of rig are you using in the video? What is the line you use. I live in Utah and come out to the West coast in July. I'd like to learn what to use. Thank you.
Your Surf fishing videos are still my favorite. Super fun. Thanks!
Thanks! Appreciate the support!
me too, i like his surf fishing more than kayak
"Thanks for playin!" Haha😂

Yeah I agree! Everything is heating up!

An old fashion (crumble?) donut, beautiful beach, and near-limit surf perch....dude that is heaven.
I see that I need to start eating donuts to catch fish.....Who knew
Cali Bear Claws ‼️
Love donuts, love the ocean those the best.
Leave the bagels at home. I'm all about the breakfast of champions when I go fishing. Doughnuts is where it's at
Definitely a key to success
One after the other 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 Awesome catches. FISH 🎣 ON & TIGHT LINES 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Good tip! I'll add one to my bag!

Awesome day in the Surf! 🎣
Put a Quik Measure pro tape on your rod and you will always have a tape to measure
Great fishing! Can't wait to get out there and try it soon!
Great sesh on the perch and always nice to get the beach to yourself .
Great day of fishing. Nice job Adam 👍 Quality catch Thanks for sharing
as a californian recently relocated away from my ocean this video hits me really hard. good job on the BSP
Sorry! Hopefully you can make a trip back sometime!
The BSP fishing in central and SoCal has been on fire
Love your surf fishing videos 🤙
I checked the expanded view of the BG4000 it appears to be the roller clutch that is giving you a problem. It's a simple remove and replace parts swap. Good video, nice fish.
Dang, love days like this!
Awesome congratulations I know nothing is easy! Thanks 🎉
I grew up fishing for ocean perch, and have never caught one on a lure.😢
Man, i tried surf fishing but no luck a few weeks ago at dillon.

I just got the fm metallic sardine lure, perfect timing man.
Thanks for the update , much love!!! ❤
The new GoPro camera mount looks good to me. Thanks for sharing.
Nice Surf Fishing video ! 😊 Liked the catches .. I watched your videos all the time 👍
The new GoPro mount is a keeper. I have a hard time watching some other UA-camrs when it is mostly their hand reeling the whole time.
Thanks! I agree I think this one is better!
Geeeez perfect conditions! Solid bite
FIRE!!!
Nice catch Adam I'm surprised you didn't get a striper? Usually you get at least one when your fishing for perch!
Yeah I was surprised too!
You found the honey hole. Great day!
I use a motor oil color crappie jig on #6 hook. 1oz egg sinker with a 18" leader. Catch the crap out of them. Reel in fast, they like it fast.
Nice one Adam
What do you think about using a chest mount vs a headcam? I feel like I can capture slightly more with the head cam, but I look around so much when I’m fishing it’s probably disorienting to watch lmao
Yeah I personally like the chest cam a little more. Its also a lot easier to make sure you are recording and everything is working properly
I truly appreciate your videos and enjoy the opportunity to fish via video with you, brother! Remember the abc's, always be carrying!

In so cal we have trigger fish that are also in Hawaii… surf perch have a similar flavor and texture
Best white meat fish
1. Sheepshead

Red meat

nice cattch of the day. where can I one of that cool lure bait?
Question what's the beat month to catch those behemoth perchs?
I was really looking forward to meeting you bro.. but I woke up super sick and won't be able to make it to the basspro.
Hope ya'll have fun! Take some shorts if you can!👍
Next time!
Cool video man. I never caught a perched on a beach before. Any tips on lines, weight and how far do you have to cast out.
Greta day of surf fishing. It almost looked like snow (bright sun?) in background while you eating your donut.
Did you catch all your fish at Avila beach

I haven't but I will check that one out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Adam you slayed them!
Fish on! Great video
"Eat an old fashion donut for good luck." Got it
What part of California are u fishing?????
Great video. What pound test leader are you throwing the Lucky craft with? Happy fishing bro 🎣 love watching your videos
I usually use 15-20 for surfperch
Thanks bro 🎣🎣🎣
What?!?!? Still no waders? 😁
What kind of a rod are you using to throw those plugs? What are they about 3/4oz.?
5/8th almost 3/4….
Good question
Is there a keeper size limit for barred surf perch in California?
No size limit
What a great session
Did you camp there in Avila
How far out do you need to throw those?
What is your new GoPro mount? The view is good. Seems to be a bit higher and over to the left. Does not seem to be a shoulder mount. I this mount better.
It is a mount that attaches to the strap of my backpack, glad you liked it!
I would love to fish there! What beach is that??
Great edit Adam! Thanks for sharing. Yeah you’re slaying!!!
Have you swapped out those hooks? If so what did you replace with?
Hey Adam , good stuff ! Hey guys there’s no way he will tell you where he’s at , I wouldn’t , then there would be 60 guys there next time he goes 😮
What a day!
If you don't mind, what rod and reel setup are you using? What's the length and action of the rod?
How do you tell by looking there is a hole there with probable fish. I haven't done a whole lot of surf fishing...
Dude question do you do any catch and cook ? So we can see how the fish came be prepared.
If I may ask. What’s spinning reel are you using?
What kind of rig are you using in the video? What is the line you use. I live in Utah and come out to the West coast in July. I'd like to learn what to use. Thank you.
Good job Die Hard. Is there some place to get dry ice nearby?
Nice catch. How do you like to prepare the perch for dinner?
The new GoPro mount worked well. When you change out hooks on your lures, what hooks do you use?
Thanks.
Thanks! I don't have any particular hook, just depends what I have in stock.
Those are some slab surf perch!
What kind of pole were you using? TIA
What size is lucky craft? Could you help me
if you don’t mind listing your gear as in rod and reel please good video! Thanks!
I wanted to catch those surf perch. But, I don’t know where the spot is??
Great video!
When you change the hooks on your LC, do you also change the split ring on the front?
I change both. Stocks aren't great
Hey have you tried Twisted Donuts in the Sunset district? They are bomb
What rod is that 😮
Those would be good for a catch and cook...
Crushed it! Now back to Monterey for some halibut :-)
What’s your rod/reel setup?
What size ounces is that Lure? I have multiple SP minnows and I feel like they’re small and light
I believe its around 3/4 ounces
Thank you!
You fish more and catch more than fisherman's life, don't know why you don't have more followers!
that has nothing to do with followers. funny..
@@josephsaeteurn9158 in your mind it doesn't, it's how you make more money
Nice catch, yeah I like to eat them too taste good 👍🏼
Is this Lucky Craft 110 ?
Curious why you manually snap the bale back on your reel after your cast. ..doesn’t it automatically snap back when you start reeling?
you will trash your reel doing that. hand flip only
Nice Adam. How do you prepare those? I've found them to be a bit mushy.
I swear one of these days one of us fishermen will have actual breakfast for breakfast 😂😂
It won't be me! haha
Where are you fishing???
Do you change out the stock trebel hooks?
Is that a LC110 or 115? Nice day of fishing 🎣!!
110
OK dude what beach is this what pole are you using? Saw the reel. Whats the limit?
Awesome video! Which beach is this?
They're great for pan frying, squeeze 🍋🍋 and eat with steam rice and soy sauce..
What are your rod specs?
Those are monsters
Just joining so keep them coming
good stuff!!
Take me fishing with you
I agree. 👍🏼
