Beautiful area! Sorry to hear about your travel issues. If picked for the brochure I will proudly display it my classroom. I'm a history teacher in Pennsylvania.
Hi! Congratulations! You have been chosen for our postcard giveaway. Please email us the address you would like us to send the post card to. neverfar@nearfromhome Look forward to hearing from you!
@@NearFromHome That's awesome, thank you! I'm very excited to display it my classroom. In my class I had my students create a Germany travel brochure and used your videos as a resource. When I'm in Munich this summer with the family, let's get together for a drink! I hope you two have a Merry Christmas! Steve Neidert 1840 Fritz Lane Lancaster, PA 17602
@@NearFromHome Hi Guys! Just wondering if you received my address for the postcard? By the way, you handled your car issue fantastically! It almost seemed therapeutic to discuss it in real time with your followers. When we head to Germany next summer, there's no way I would rent from share now! Lol Take care!
I enjoyed the Dolomite series, but I definitely wouldn't be complete without hearing your story/vlog of getting back to München. The best part of this channel aside from the incredible shots (eye-candy) you capture is the information you provide. Sometimes life happens and I'd be interested in seeing how to y'all recovered from that set-back.
Wow, I knew there lots of castles in Südtirol, but I never knew how pretty they are, what a pleasant surprose. And so many in one place, a bit like the Altmühl valley, although the Altmühl castles from Kehlheim to Eichstätt aren't as grand. Thanks again for a wonderful vid
Just found you two. Headed to Europe in May 2024. Will have to watch more of your videos! Thanks. Also the post card idea is cute and I love that you send your grandmother postcards. Keep that up!
I loved your videos on the Dolomites. We will be visiting Bolzano next May so the hiking trails will not all be open (but I loved seeing the scenery on your VLOG). I always worried about problems with rental cars so we are traveling by train. Hope you got your Mini Cooper situation resolved. We are from Pennsylvania.
Really gorgeous spots, loved seeing the fresco at the last castle. Although I feel you on the car sickness - I was getting a little woozy just watching the driving footage.
Hi guys, new subscriber here even tho I've been watching you for a couple of months now, your interest in castles and German beer are right up our street especially as we are contemplating a move to Germany at some point so watching your latest videos great interest love the Munich area and will be visiting in may for 3 weeks, staying in Garmish and touring all around, keep up the great work, Merry Christmas to the both of you.
Informative and entertaining as always. Would definitely like to see your "what went wrong" video. Hey and I gave you two likes - one on TV and another on my phone.
Ok so you started out of Bolzano and up the Mendola. As you stated, your first stop is not a castle but a hermitage and glad you found it. Castle Thun was first called Castle Belvesino. Too bad you missed the rest of the Castles. Particularly Castles Caldes, Valer and Nanno. All of these and many more are in the Val di Non and Val di Sole. Hope you get to go back, I was hoping to revisit the land and properties of my ancestors again.
Yeah….you should check out the video where our car broke down and we got stranded. We had so much more we wanted to visit but this turned into a real nightmare. I think we still had enough to publish the video and I didn’t want to scrap it, but there are hundreds of more castles to explore in that area.
Bolzano is a great place to base yourself in this area. We stayed there in 2019 and had another week planned in 2020. While you could probably not get to the ruins you had planned, I think for anyone who only wants to do public transport, it is just about achievable. With a bit of walking and waiting about. (And probably running to make connections.) Anyone going to Südtirol, look up the Museumobil card. €30 for 3 days gives free public transport and entry to the touristy places like Ötzi and Runkelstein. So you don't have to be as adventurous, to see and have a great time. And save some cash for spritz. We're looking forward to the "mini becomes maxi pain in the a.." vid. I'll swap you for the "get to the end of the Zirbenweg above Innsbruck, just to see the chairlift operator driving away" story. 2500m up...
Thanks so much for the tip! Maybe we just should have used public transit ;) We are trying to put the video together now. It might not directly be the next one though, so look out for it. We are planning on making a a video in Innsbruck this Spring, so we'll definitely check the times for Zirbenweg haha
Greetings from Sweden, me and my husband loves the videos you guys make. Keep up the good work and spirit! By the way, will you guys do any winter / christmas related videos? Like perhaps markets and such?
Aww thanks so much! We really appreciate it! We had tons of xmas videos planned, but the state of Bavaria canceled all xmas markets because of rising Corona numbers. It would have been great for our viewers and even better for our analytics. :(
Glad you liked it! We filmed it August 2021. It was kind of hot though, so I think September and June are the best months weather wise. I am also kinda kicking myself for not going in July. Apparently Seceda is covered in wild flowers then a
@@NearFromHome we were planning possibly late September or early October before the lifts close…. Well as soon as we can leave Australia again lol! Until then I will travel vicariously through your vlogs lol!

Thanks so much! We really appreciate that. Thank you for all you do! Camille was a teacher in the US, and can attest to the how hard the job can be.

Hi! We sent it on Friday January 21st! So sorry. We were very busy filming and traveling at the end of the year. Hopefully you will have it this week!

Thanks so much! :) There are like ten others we wanted to see, but didn't have time for. We have seen a few in Altmühl though!

The fresco were my favorite part!
Yeah, it was all made worse by the sun. Every time we rounded a corner, we were blinded :O
