Alejandro Flores how do you feel about methanol...I asked my tuner about it and they had kinda the same response to it that you do to nitrous unless it's supported...but they were still kinda hesitant because when the tanks are empty the whole cutoff and tune will still be loaded...they said they would use it to cool temps but as a power adder they would rather not
when i ran nitrous on my LS1 i had a window switch, colder plugs and bottle heater and tune. It was more then enough. Just gotta be careful your bottle pressure is between 900-1100 psi not much lower not much higher. Ive ran dry and wet and i prefer wet systems. On these 5.0's not sure how they work but if nitrous is done right its very reliable based on the car.
I run a 75 shot on my 2011 GT. I use the N2NB WOTBOX with the nitrous add-on window switch. Bottle heater and an autometer Phantom II nitrous pressure gauage.
I know this is old but for anyone who may see this comment in the future. Grab a NOS mini-2. Its a window switch, progressive controller and dual stage unit all in one and is only $200.
THIS is why nitrous is gets such a bad name. Anybody with 500 bucks and a garage can install nitrous. They don't think about all of the things that need to go along with it to make it SAFE. window switch colder plugs and gap appropriate fuel system capability bottle pressure monitoring/control They also want to immediately go for the hero shot. everybody is scared to look like a "pussy" by starting with a 50 or 75 shot to get things dialed in. They want to throw a 150 right at it. If you decide to be safe, and appropriately setup the SYSTEM rather than just a bottle and lines, you will have a good time. Its the idiots that do it wrong that blow it up that give nitrous a bad rep
Yeah, I ran a 75 shot done properly on a four banger for years and never had an issue. It was a nitrous express wet kit with a msd window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, wot switch, and nx bottle heater. I also ran colder plugs and 94 octane. It made 83whp and 129ftlb's extra. Another thing people don't consider is that solenoids need maintained from time to time. Had I kept the car I would have went with direct port and ran 100 shot.
justin elliott buddy of mine daily drives his and races every weekend. '14 GT. He just upgraded to precision wastegates which are more reliable for higher power. I'm throwing on the on3 TT kit on my '17 F150 as soon as I get it.
I have 2 friends with a twin turbo Coyotes and a bunch with foxbodies. My understanding is that their quality has really want up on them. Sure it's not Procharger big kit like that but I know people who run them with no issues. Greg doesn't daily drive his but Jonathon Montgomery does. He had a shop in Ohio install it and do all the tuning. We are from Tennessee but I guess the Ohio shop waa better.
I worked for one of the largest nitrous companies in the industry for a few years... We tell everyone what they should get and have, they cheap out and buy just the $450 single nozzle then call us 2 weeks later saying our product blew up their car... I tell everyone expect to spend at least $1500-2000 for a safe nitrous setup. They cringe, say I don't know what I'm talking about, then go hurt their motor a few weeks later.
Brandt Vickery because if it’s a dry shot the injectors supply the needed fuel to keep your afr correct hence more fuel flow is why you need the larger injector as were with a wet shot you just change pills to dial in your afr when spraying
I'm the same way, I do it right or not do it at all. Nitrous outlet plate kit, window switch, heater, ngk 6510 plugs @ .032", but I use E85 thru 47# injectors, no BAP. I'm only running a 125 shot so nothing outrageous.
Chris Walrath almost same setup except I got the nitrous express plate kit, 6510 plugs at 0.32, window switch, tps, heater, bottle opener, blow down pipe, 100 octane, no NAP, running 100 shot
Been running nitrous over a year and the biggest issue is supply. I have all the supporting mods and have been 6s in the 8th on a stock 12 motor but I have to drive 30 min to get it filled and it's 6 bucks a lb.
Another great informative video! How about one on exhaust next? I am looking to upgrade mine from stock on a '16 GT and am seeing headers with 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 tubes as well as 2.5" and 3" catbacks. I know I will eventually add your supercharger and would probably want the bigger stuff right? But in the mean time what will I lose with just a stock config and CAI? Should I just go small?
For my nitrous kit I have a window switch heater colder plugs gapped to .30 (thankfully a friend is a electrician) I have mayb 800 into It but I gave to agree most people think button and go most dont even no what a window switch is
I spent nearly 4k on my nitrous set up. not a coyote but an LS3! nitrous is the way to go IMHO. I ran a stand alone fuel system with c16 and all the bells and whistles. needless to say I would knuckle drag centri cars with ease! torque in a bottle :)
Dude, I thank you man! N20 gets its bad rap. I like in small amounts .I think of it as a gateway drug to boost. LOL a 75 shot on pretty much anything. its a great way to get guys to switch to boost, once they add up the money to make real power with a bottle, its not much more to bar it up. but small shots doen right are fun.
Yes and no, like I knew you needed wiring and many other things to have a setup that can work. And also to know the limits and stuff like that I never really researched a lot about it. I never ran nitrous on a car so when people talk about it I try to learn as much as possible.
Its the same as any other power adder tho, the more power you want the more fuel, spark and air you will need. The engine is a giant equation of those three variables.
PROANISH you don't need all those things. I've ran nitrous for years without any issues before going turbo. But it's best if you do have them. I don't trust window switches personal I've seen them fail & didn't activate when it was supposed. I just sprayed from 3k to 6k rpm. But for most noobs I wouldn't do it without a window switch.
Get a colder set of plugs. Gap the plugs down to 32,O00. Pull a couple degrees timing out. Hook a 150 shot up. Run 110 octane. Ride boy ride!! Coyote engines love it. Been on the dope, no problems.
Nitrous doesn't blow up motors ppl do lol. Just got nitrous kit for my car i didnt know i needed all that stuff but i got everything i need including colder spark plugs. & you dont need bigger injectors depending on the shot im doing 150 shot on stock injectors 91pump gas with torco octane booster and dyno tune hopefully im fine i got all remote controls for everything almost 2k included labor
GhostFaceKilla- I agree If your running a wet system I don't see why you need bigger injectors. The nitrous spray bar or nozzle is providing the needed fuel. So long as your pump and lines are up to it. Unless your injectors are already maxed out than yea you should get bigger injectors before spraying.
Hi Alejandro, do you tune chevy as well ? i am about to buy a GT or a SS just having a hard time with people saying the new GT has problems, shoud I go with a new 2SS instead ?
Alex , What’s your opinion on injectors. FRPP has 60lb injectors for 3 bills then you look at ID , or fuel clinic and they’re triple the price? On a nitrous set up what’s wrong with a FRPP 60lb and all other supporting mods.
Nitrous is relatively safe but start small and work your way up. Don't just throw on a 150 shot with no experience. Also dry seems safest if you only go with a small shot and tuned as there is no risk of backfire. Of course you want supporting mods not just a tank line and solenoid.
I just spent 2100 on my kit comes in Monday can’t Waite... my tuner was telling me the same thing he said he’s never doing a nitrous kit If It doesn’t have everything it needs
Nitrous is cheap for the kit unlike turbo or s/c, but as any power adder you need to spend $$$ on supporting mods. You wanna stay on a budget and safe...... stay bolt on tune N/A....
Okay so I want to run up to a 150 shot as safe as possible, here's a list of everything I have: Nitrous Express plate kit with bottle opener, heater, purge kit, window switch, blow down tube, and ford racing heat range 0 spark plugs.. what else do I need? and should I run e85 with ford racing 47# injectors and a B.A.P.... And what's the biggest shot I should run on 93 octane?
Alex, I hear people talk about using colder plugs for certain applications, but when I go to, let’s say AutoZone, and ask them for a cold or plug then the star plug they look at me like what are you talking about. How can I choose a colder Running plug on my own. Thank you
I'm not a NOZ fan either. I have a 2018 on order and plain to add a Procharger set up. My local Mustang builder Evolution Performance told me I can get a lot of power gain with just the charger? I guess piston's, rod's and crank are all ready forged in the 2018 Stang? Don't want a track car just an every day toy. They stated that mid/long tube headers with exhaust change not needed if I don't plan to race. Please send me your thoughts on a stock 2018 Mustang GT with just a Procharger Centrifugal Supercharger?
Evolution performance is the best in the business, id trust their judgment. Manyyy people are running just a procharger with a bap on 93 daily with zero issues
One of the higher end tuners tuned my S550 I had the maximizer brisk plugs nitrous out let kit e85 boost a pump ect made my first pass on my nitrous tune and boom lol
2 Grand is "Cheaper" than Cams & couple other mods w/ less results. 07 GT500 Gen2R,OR X-Pipe,Dual BAP, 1000cc Bosch (yes,Bosch)95# injectors,NGK Iridium plugs, 2.5 upper & 10% lower 17 degrees on 93 w/ Torco 708hp/711tq. Can U help?
Lol couldn't be more right about the window switch ahh screw that I put that shit on a button, $400 NX proton nozzle wet kit on VP 110 with 150 shot my junk ran 11.30 @ 123 on a bone stock S550 with a cold air and tire... refilling that bottle and heating that bitch up with a torch got old.
This is perfect advice, thanks Alex. 2k is exactly the price I got to when I priced out just parts. Going TT only because I don't want to have to deal with bottle refills.
What else would you recommend for 150 shot ? I have plate system i have a nos stage 2 kit with has a window switch included/ bottle heater & opener. Colder spark plugs & blow down tube for track and safety. Also have a purge kit. And im gonna be running on 100+ octane with dyno tune.. what else would you think id need ? My concern is been safe my coyote is fbo already
Kinda late to the show lol Running nitrous on my coyote NX maxEZ, tps/rpm switch, heater and vortech bap, onlt problem is my tuner doesn't want to listen to me when I said i was to do a 100 shot. He just sent me a tune for 150 and tell me to give him a wot. (138k mile gen2 motor)
What size injectors and duty cycle do you feel is optimal for a 2015 mustang gt on 150-200 wet shot , boost a pump, cat delete, xpipe , roush cat back, air raid warm air intake, 2019 intake manifold, 3.73 gears , progressive nitrous controller, also e85 on nitrous tune , this is a daily driver , 93 octane for going to work
Instead of adding a fuel cell what do you think about doing everything else and getting a E85/Nitrous tune with E85 jettings etc and only spraying when ur full e85??
Ok, sorry I’m completely spamming your channel tonight but there’s a friend of mine who raced NMRA on a nitrous car and said it like this: nitrous shouldn’t be viewed as a cheap power adder, but as a temporary one
Hey yolo I have a 2012 5.0, and my 5th gear started grinding and it's difficult to put it into gear ... so I just started skipping it and completely stopped using 5th , can you point me in any direction in what you think it may be ?
Alejandro Flores thanks for the reply ! a lot of people have told me that I would need to rebuild my transmission ... or could I just replace that 5th synchro? Or what would be your advice?
Great video bother can you help me get all the right stuff I’m willing to spend the money to make the car safe so far I got the zex wet kit for my 2017 mustang get I also got the zex bottle opener the zex bottle warmer zex purge 2 v kit the car has cords headers corsa car backs 2018 maunafold not ported jlt intake e85 it’s time by some shop dyno jet it’s getting 416 hp can you please guide me the right way plesae I’m new to all this but I built my own car got a couple on g to make the car safe an fast need help would truly appreciate your help thank you I watch a lot of your videos great job hands down best mustang videos I can tell your very knowledgeable in the way you make your videos and the cofedens you carry your self that you can’t fake so it shows you know what the hell your doing hope to hear from you thank you bro
For a 100 shot is a bap and injectors necessary I've heard that the factory fuel system is fine, I'll get a window switch, purge kit blow down kit, colder plugs, heater, electric bottle opener and the kit i feel like that is enough for a 100 shot
You will be safe. I have been running a 100 hp dry shot for years with all the supporting mods from JMS and it works great. Be sure and get a good JMS nitrous tune and controller, colder plugs and good gas. Have fun. I have run 11.70 at 120 mph with a stock 2011 Gt and nitrous only.
Julian Garcia Fitness definitely not the same thing a TPS switch well activate when the computer to text the command for 100% throttle not necessarily when you push the gas pedal 100% you run the risk of accidentally activating your nitrous solenoid's while at potentially dangerous low rpm's
I ran nitrous for years on fox body 5.0’s . All we had to do was get colder plugs and close the gap. Tune your engine to best timing and you can add a 150 wet kit with no problem. Have a button and hit it as soon as you come off the clutch. If you wanted more than 150, you would have to retard the timing 4 degrees per 50 HP above the 150. Race gas Fuel pump, injectors up to 250. New coyote..... 16 injectors... 1000 dollars worth of extras needed for 150..... no thanks
My fox was new, modern and comfy ‘91-99. I still could install a fool proof system and control it myself. No tuners needed. We drove our cars. Heads , cam, injectors, TB, and intake and still got over 23 mpg with tremec 3550 and 3:55’s. Only ran 10:90. But hey , your the Pro
Does anyone watch "Engine Masters - Presented by AMSOIL" on youtube? They did a whole episode on how much nitrous can a stock motor take. And yes they used every thing that Alex is talking about and blew the motor on a 250 shot.
If you want to run nitrous the right way, hit us up!
Agreed!!!☝️☝️
Nitrous Outlet I will sooner or later
The only way to go‼️
You are one of the best mustang channels on UA-cam. Very very informative. Keep up the good work!
Thanks bubba

The best part about this is the owner... Jason... trash talks everyone and everything. Best video ever. Thank you.
I have no interest in Nitrous, but I watched because I knew it would be informative. Awesome video as usual Alex.
Well then that answer my question no nitrous for me
when i ran nitrous on my LS1 i had a window switch, colder plugs and bottle heater and tune. It was more then enough. Update?
This is the exact reason my kit is sitting in the corner of the garage still....still waiting on a window switch
Yes it's crucial.
Sell u 1 for 100
I know this is old but for anyone who may see this comment in the future. Grab a NOS mini-2. Its a window switch, progressive controller and dual stage unit all in one and is only $200.
I ordered EVERYTHING and installing this weekend, no cutting corners cost me about 2200 total still cheaper than buying a blower
No doubt but u can get a used blower for 4k and make 700whp, safely...
THIS is why nitrous is gets such a bad name. Anybody with 500 bucks and a garage can install nitrous. They don't think about all of the things that need to go along with it to make it SAFE.

A fool and his money shall soon part.
FATHERFORD for 2k night aswell save a few thousand more for a blower
@@stunna_CODM A cheap single turbo would still be 2x as much,a blower like procharger 3x as much, and a whipple 4x as much.

I'm scared but im a newb so I'm starting with 75 shot lol

just wanted to say thanks for this video, really explains the right way to go this route
is e85 a good enough gas for nitrous or do i still need a stand alone
just curious what's the best tune required cold air intake for a NA 15 mustang GT in your opinion?

Is it a must to upgrade oil pump gears for a 15 gt to run nitrous?
What size injectors and duty cycle do you feel is optimal for a 2015 mustang gt on 150-200 wet shot , boost a pump, cat delete, xpipe , roush cat back, air raid warm air intake, 2019 intake manifold, 3.73 gears , progressive nitrous controller, also e85 on nitrous tune , this is a daily driver , 93 octane for going to work
Did you ever find your answer I’m in the same spot
Instead of adding a fuel cell what do you think about doing everything else and getting a E85/Nitrous tune with E85 jettings etc and only spraying when ur full e85??
That's the ideal way to go
good video!
makes total sense...
Good stuff !
If I use a nano bottle without the heater ?
2018 mustang gt, I have a plate kit, window switch, purge, bottle heater, colder plugs, fuel and nitrous gauge,do I need injectors or bap?
How’s everything going? Still on nitrous? Thinking about doing the same.
hey yoloDB, do u have any experience working with the fuckery of the j4j1 94 cobra computers?
Austin Saxton no sir
Ok, sorry I’m completely spamming your channel tonight but there’s a friend of mine who raced NMRA on a nitrous car and said it like this: nitrous shouldn’t be viewed as a cheap power adder, but as a temporary one
Just 2k? Shit I'll come next week Alex
Hey yolo I have a 2012 5.0, and my 5th gear started grinding and it's difficult to put it into gear ... so I just started skipping it and completely stopped using 5th , can you point me in any direction in what you think it may be ?
Old dirty Bastard synchro..probably from wot shifting into 5th
Alejandro Flores thanks for the reply ! a lot of people have told me that I would need to rebuild my transmission ... or could I just replace that 5th synchro? Or what would be your advice?
Fuck yea fbo with a 150 shot flies
good video #1
Are you going to use nitrous with e85? Do you have a window switch?
You will have to use a colder spark plugs lime a NGK 6510 gapped to .032
What do you mean quality fuel? Like a higher octane? Would e85 suffice
Um yea...quality fuel both octane rating and overall quality
For a 100 shot is a bap and injectors necessary I've heard that the factory fuel system is fine, I'll get a window switch, purge kit blow down kit, colder plugs, heater, electric bottle opener and the kit i feel like that is enough for a 100 shot
You will be safe. I have been running a 100 hp dry shot for years with all the supporting mods from JMS and it works great. Be sure and get a good JMS nitrous tune and controller, colder plugs and good gas. Have fun. I have run 11.70 at 120 mph with a stock 2011 Gt and nitrous only.
If you have a standalone full enrichment system why would you need a fuel pump booster ?
You would not
Right, I miss interpreted what you were saying
@@bryanroupe8646 it happens. :)
What’s a better plug NGK 6510s or brisket plugs
Brisket ones taste better
Thank you
What about a TPS switch? would that work as good as Window Switch budd?
Julian Garcia Fitness definitely not the same thing a TPS switch well activate when the computer to text the command for 100% throttle not necessarily when you push the gas pedal 100% you run the risk of accidentally activating your nitrous solenoid's while at potentially dangerous low rpm's
great point!!!
What is your thought on a 150 wet shot on a stock tune? 😂🤣😂🤣
Noooo
Lowkey sounds pretty easy to add nos
I would consistently knuckle drag centri cars with similar/little more power!
Micheal Bell knuckle drag lol
If you dont install supporting mods with a blower it to will blow your engine also.
Preach on brother Alex,preach on,lol.
What plugs would you recommend? Fuck the youtube know it alls, i just want to know what you personaly prefer. Or what nitrous kit in paticular
if you can even get nitrous. ..
1000 dollars worth of extras needed for 150..... no thanks
But it's 2 seconds faster than your fox...and comfy..and modern. And gets 23mpg. Lmao. But but...foxbody.
All for less than 18k. Not 45k
In my opinion supercharged and done I don't want power that has to be refilled
Then wtf you gunna do when you run out of gas?
👍
@alejandro flores do you have an email?
Yep.
Does anyone watch "Engine Masters - Presented by AMSOIL" on youtube? They did a whole episode on how much nitrous can a stock motor take. And yes they used every thing that Alex is talking about and blew the motor on a 250 shot.
and it was a beater engine
........305....two thumbs down lol
Guy got impatient...
UA-cam land
Had everything you talked about in this vid but you don't tune cali 😡🔫
