Just picked the X1 up, took about an hour to set up and i have to say after all the Negative Reviews this works Really well for me and found all my devices, had to set up a few keys Manually learning from Original remotes but after doing this got working 100% and i am really happy with this product. Having a physical remote with real buttons makes a huge difference after trying to control my home cinema from a phone or iPad !!!! Hopefully this will only get better over time as well
@@whocarescraig yes had harmony remote a number of years ago , I'd say the sofa baton ui not as slick as harmony but it does what it says on the tin and got 50% off with discount code so all in all happy with device for the price
@@davebiscuittin4750; were you able to set up “activities” like Harmony where you push “one” button on the X1 & it turns on your needed devices & sets each’s req’d input?
I have set up hundreds of Harmony models. This unit does not compare...yet! I am hopeful they actually look at the harmony units and copy them. With a PC or phone app the harmony was much easier to program (in minutes) As an integrator, spending an hour to program is not going to be very cost effective for customers.
Good news (I Think). My Kickstarter X1 is still in the box after the pile of bad reviews but it looks like it may be time to take a chance and set it up. Hope you will come back when whole setup is complete with final verdict. Thanks
I am using X1 from past 2 months. Offcourse this is my first universal remote. I am pretty ok with the remote. Connecting the devices ( Pioneer lx504 AVR, nvidia shield pro, Sony UHD player, Zidoo Z9X) is pretty cool and it's working. But still have issues with the activities. Maybe some more updates required for the activities.
Not so fast... I was a Kickstarter contributor, but I set the device sit for a few months cause I figured some software updates where going to be issued to fix some problems. But my SIMPLE use case to control just 3 devices in my bedroom - TV, Cable Box, Firestick (with TV/Cable used 95% of the time) exposed some serious problems. One- that BACK button is totally misplaced! Two - with latest sfw, I'm getting a message on the Remote "Lost Hub" (really??). Third (the biggie) - using the scroll wheel to issue numbers to the cable box - TOTALLY USELESS. Besides being clumsy and slow, half the time I'm getting double digits issued ( pressing "3" yields "33") even concentrating so that I am careful to not move the wheel still yield duplicates so often its useless. And that's standing upright in front to the TV. Lying in bed, I'm sure will be worse. I don't see where I can use this except on my outdoor TV that has no cable box, but once I turn on that TV, all I need is my Apple TV or Google TV remote. I'm really thinking about moving the outdoor ATV to the bedroom and programming it as an IR device so my Harmony One (that I was hoping to replace) can control the 3 devices. Was worth a try during Kickstarter, but this is not a $200 replacement for Harmony/Logitech
Just wanted to know I purchase the X1 last week. I had a few issues with right out of the box. My new XR77A80J Sony and Apple 4k tv. the app would set up these devices. I sent Sofabaton information about the issues. The next day I download the updates. The remote went blank. No response. Nothing from the Sofabaton about this issue. This do have the potential replacing the Harmony. To many bugs. I haven't heard from the company so I returned it from where I purchased it from. Maybe amazon sent me the one you view earlier. LOL.
I was a backer of theirs and I could not connect to my cable or tv. They allowed me to return the product for a full refund. That was around November of 2021. SO, do you think they made enough improvements to give this another shot? I do like my Harmony, but since Logitech no longer making it, I will eventually need a new smart remote.
Great review I'm in the market for a universal remote just upgraded My AV Reciever and projector and This might bring everything together thanks for the update
This is Sofabatons response when I emailed asking “ If your Sonos supports infrared, you can add it by fuzzy search (check disable to get exact model) If your Sonos only supports wifi, you can add devices through wifi”
Here’s my question & I’ve asked this question after several different reviews I’ve watched & that is, will this remote set up activities like Harmony where you push one button & it turns on the affected gear & sets the inputs?
While this seems to be the "trend" with TV manufacturers, omitting the number buttons doesn't make sense to me. We watch a lot of cable TV (through our Cox Communications set top box) and often want to go to a particular channel. I guess I don't understand how we'd be able to with this remote (without going to the Guide function and scrolling for a while till reaching the desired channel)?
Nah it’s still not ready for more serious users. My Klipsch stuff is still not functioning with this remote. I had to manually program my Epson projector just to power it on. No RF support so I can’t control my retractable screen or my Hdmi switch. It’s basically a 180 dollar Firestick remote but it can’t control the volume on my cinema 600.
If they were smart they should just buy harmony but you definitely need phone support anytime I had an issue I was able to pick up the phone and call logitech and they either fixed it or guided me and I’m text savvy
Buyer beware, if this company is going to charge $200 for a remote, they should have at least chat support. Customer support is extremely poor. Right out of box the hub did not configure and after three emails each taking 24 hours to respond it still is not working. Probably returning this device.

I have to disagree. The Harmony programing web interface is/was painful to use.
