Just to clarify the braking; there are in fact discs on both front wheels and one on the rear. They are all linked by the one pedal on the right hand side. Using the brake pedal activates all three with ABS and other safety features including traction control and stability control to ensure that when you brake the force is balanced across the front and rear. It avoids potential lock ups other such panic responses. It is a great machine for those who are older and want to keep riding or who might have issues holding up a big bike. It can't lean or counter steer like a motorcycle but some riders lean their body to help the bike through bends and corners.
I motovlog on my Spyder and I love it. It does take some time to get used to the turning, but once you spend more time with it, you will get it. They really are cool machines and I think everyone should at least test ride on like you did. I think they'd be just as surprised as you on how much fun they are to ride. Oh, and the older spyders like mine are 1000cc. The newer ones are 1330cc. Thats why they are fast :)
We all ride in my family, except my mom, and we always make jokes about her getting on a trike because she's scared of getting on a regular bike. This would be perfect.😂
Hi Kat. It's called push/pull when it comes to turning and that was an RT you were on. Also it has a Rotax 1300 motor in it. So yes it is going to be fast. I have a 2014 Can-Am Spyder ST Limited and it is Cognac (orange) in color. I have had mine since April 26th, 2018. I have been on 3 bug road trip with it and yes they are a blast to ride. Eventually I will graduate up to an RT. I just wish I was able to upload a photo on here of what mine looks like, but I do not have a way of doing that.
Hahaha oh my gosh I loved this switch up review!! I never expected you to review a trike and it was so awesome. Everything you were discovering about the trike was so funny, especially the adjustable windscreen, cup holders, and STORAGE. Those kinda features might be almost standard on cruisers/trikes (I wouldn't have a clue) but I feel like I would've had a very similar reaction.🤣 Sport bikes have raised me in a different way 😂 soooo luxurious!! Haha great video!!🤙🏻
I love the Spyder...I describe it as a reverse trike and it handles much better than a "normal" trike. I agree though, it's difficult to get used to turning on it if you're an experienced motorcycle rider. I think the biggest benefit of the Spyder RT is that you can tour in luxury. Friends on two-wheels I ride are pretty fatigued riding 300 miles while I end my day like I can go another 100 miles. Those grips, rear armrests, and possibly the driver seat are not OEM which may be why they felt awkward.
Love your review. I've had 2 and 3 weels. I drive the Can Am Ryker now. Its great. I love it. It has all the enjoyment of outside on a 2 weel but you have to be a bit more hands-on. Benefit? Never have carry the weight of the machine and almost find myself chilling at traffic or traffic lights. Also; No slipping in the rain. I love 2 and 3 weels and think they aren't the same thing. If you compare them you ar always disappointed. But if you try them as individual types of rides. You will love both!!
Wow I have never rode in a machine like that. It seems comfortable and convenient with storage. I have seems them couple of time in NY mostly older enthusiasts.
My uncle has an orange one of these. It's super clean too. People that have the canams swear by them. Nice review. And wave to motorcycles, we wave wave back. Lasty, I'm jealous of that reverse that could of come in handy a few times...
I have muscular dystrophy I'm quickly approaching the stage where I can no longer ride. I've been thinking about getting one of these Can-Am. Thanks for the review
I have 2018 LT and I have neuropathy causing an issue with the foot brake due to the partial numbness in my right foot. I'm thinking of switching to a 2021 Spyder f3-t from the 2018 RT. I need to make a comparison. Braking is iffy on the RT due to its placement.
The grips have Grip Puppies on them. I bought my RT and it had them, loved them, all my bikes will have them. I find they kept me from putting a deathgrip on the bars and I wasn't tensing up while riding.
I am truly shocked there aren't more negative comments. The can ams get so much hate usually. Somehow two in front makes it not acceptable like two in back. The two in front are stable. I have a ryker and its a blast. One day will upgrade to a nicer one for our plans to travel cross country. My husband's knees are bad and one day he won't be on two wheels anymore either. But this still gets you out in the open and the wind in your face. Love mine.
Good vid Kat, also lowkey woof that Magna, always love those. So I'd love to see you try one of the leaning three wheelers next to see how it compares, like the Niken or some of the MP3 style scooters. Alternatively, something like the new Goldwing which has the storage and smoothness this has, but with a normal motor[bi]cycle layout
My sister wants one. She says she thinks it's more stable than tri that have two wheels in the back... She is older too 61... So you are right about that balance thing with age... Thanks for sharing... Much love... Stay healthy and safe...
The windshield goes up and down on some models to adjust for the rider. I am looking at buying one. I have ridden cruisers, sportbikes....I want the stability now...being older. It is a motorcycle.
I've seen a lot of theses. The owners of these are really really really into them. Two are kinda famous. A white one with black spots like a Holstein, it's called a CowAm, no I didn't make that up. Another is a molted green like a frog, and the owner put fog lights on the fenders, makes it look like the eyes. I think they are pretty cool. The ea t ly models did have some dependability issues, mainly the ecu.
You forgot a number of things that are also very good an the Can Am Spyder RT: Heated seats for driver and passenger, heated grips for driver and passenger, glove box with USB and headphone jack for your smartphone and the whole safety system - the *VSS* Vehicle Stabilisation System - *TCS* Traction Control System - *SCS* Stabilisation Control System - *CBS* Combined Break System - *ABS* Anti Break System - *EMC* Electronic Motor Control - *DPS* Dynamic Power Share = Power Steering If the Spyder lifts a wheel in a turn, motor is regulated back, if the Spyder slides over a wheel in front, motor is regulated back, if the rear wheel spins, motor is regulated back. If the wheels slip when braking, the ABS is activated and all 3 wheels are always braked in the correct ratio. If you drive slowly, the Spyder is easy to steer. The faster you drive, the harder the steering becomes. Unless you are completely stupid, you CANNOT flip the Can Am Spyder. And between the two wheels in front is also a large trunk 😉
See a few of them around these parts. Like you said, very good for older people who still want to ride. I believe a trike is officially the one wheel up front and two back, whereas what you were riding is a three wheeler.
Another awesome review video Kat I wanna get a trike for my bike, but I wanna get the trike that u saw while reviewing the can am. I've been looking at that trike for year's now.
well this was an interesting thing for you to review lol. lowkey proud of you for not calling it a motorcycle (i can't tell you how many people here in colorado boast about their 'motorcycle') 😂 i am impressed by all the storage it has lol.
I test rode a Spyder a few years ago, I was surprised that I liked it so much. I'm not comfortable with it in the turns though, just feels weird to me.
BTW, the can am doe NOT lean into turns, the rider does the leaning and if done properly is quite stable-it does take some getting used to and a several minute video is not a sufficient learning curve
I’m watching your review on the Can-Am on Roku, I wrote an 800 mL without the bags a few years ago and you’re right if I’m gonna ride a motorcycle is going to have two wheels. I road a $40,000 Harley trike from Harley and I think that kind of stuff should be outlawed they are scary they make you think you’re on a motorcycle until you turn and that is not a comfortable feeling. I’m 59 years old when I can’t hold a motorcycle up anymore I’m gonna stop riding motorcycles until then it’s only gonna be two wheels. Enjoyed your review my 80-year-old mother is now following you. I can’t get her on a motorcycle lol
The Can Am geometry, with the wide front axle, won't allow the traditional roll-over like Harley or Honda trikes. Weight transfer during a turn, will sit on the outside wheel, keeping the machine from rolling over. It's like having training wheels on purpose!
Messkit Yeah that may be true I did not like my experience on the Can-Am I do not like my experience on a trach and when I can no longer hold up my motorcycle I’ll stop riding motorcycles. I’d like to pull the clutch in and ship gears I don’t like automatics. I don’t need any high tech on my bike I have a clock on a trip meter that’s pretty much all I want.
You should ride a Ryker next, its a smaller version of the Spyder, I’ll let you borrow mine as we leave pretty close to each other, I ran into you pretty often :)
Her turn comment I feel might be inaccurate. I watched a different video on this one and he was very adamant that you need to lean into turns and it will move much more naturally!
She does not know how to properly turn the spyder which is why she doesn't like it. It's actually quite simple when you know what you're doing. It doe s not turn like a traditional motorcycle and takes a little getting used to but I can take turns just as fast as I do on my harley softail
I don’t see a lot of those in the Houston area personally. I know there are a ton of ladies that own/ride them in the area. Again don’t see them too often. I see ALOT and I mean ALOT of Slingshots.
Yes, rigid steering. There are non-Can Am models that do lean/cantilever, but are mostly in the custom build arena. Except for the Yamaha Niken, most factory tilting 3 wheelers are, essentially, modified scooters. Although Kat noticed you need a little more effort to turn, she could have found out that the Can-Am will take a quick turn much faster than regular bikes. The main thing about two front wheels, is the geometry changes the center of gravity by not allowing the bike to raise a wheel on a turn, since the weight transfer goes directly to the front axle. Trikes with two rear wheels, will roll over toward the unsupported space on either side of the front wheel during a rapid turn. This is the main cause of wrecks on traditional trikes...and also why Honda stopped making the little 3 wheel ATC's, so popular in the 70's and 80's.
Well first of all, if your'e going to give a review you should know what your'e talking about. Like saying it only has rear brakes. It has three wheel braking, front, and rear using the brake pedal. Plus, you are complaining about the windshield blocking your sight of view. Well, if you had done any research on the bike you would have know the windshield is electronic adjustable. You should always due some research or ask questions about the vehicle before attempting to ride.
I have a harley davidson tri glide and love it. It has one wheel on the front and two on the back. I have health issues and this is the safest way and best as far as I am concerned. Can am spider is a snowmobile with tires on it. Lol
Got the need to be organic In your review. However; a lot of "cons" featured are a part of the bike mechanisms. You'd only know that if you do a little bit of homework prior to riding/review. Not sure if it's really considered/called a "trike". Thx anyway!
It can't lean or counter steer like a motorcycle but some riders lean their body to help the bike through bends and corners.
The windshield is adjustable. Switch on left handle bar.
I own a spyder and love it. I am disabled and thought my riding days were over, yes it's not for everybody but for me it's been life changing.
Liked how much you enjoyed driving and reviewing.
I motovlog on my Spyder and I love it. It does take some time to get used to the turning, but once you spend more time with it, you will get it. They really are cool machines and I think everyone should at least test ride on like you did. I think they'd be just as surprised as you on how much fun they are to ride. We all ride in my family, except my mom, and we always make jokes about her getting on a trike because she's scared of getting on a regular bike. This would be perfect.😂
Go for it they have a cheaper auto model the Ryiker
@0:55 The foot brake brakes all 3 wheels, not just the rear
I don't see many if hardly any. But when I do I get excited.
Hi Kat. It's called push/pull when it comes to turning and that was an RT you were on. Also it has a Rotax 1300 motor in it. So yes it is going to be fast. How cute gin was doing the same hand motions as Kat when she talked about turning
If money was no issue I would love to have one the new model looks way cooler!
Hahaha oh my gosh I loved this switch up review!! I never expected you to review a trike and it was so awesome. Everything you were discovering about the trike was so funny, especially the adjustable windscreen, cup holders, and STORAGE. Agreed!! thank you girl
I live in South Dakota & when I go out to the Black Hills or Sturgis you see three wheelers all over.
Finally found a 2021 F-3S. It is a blast to ride. Turning was a little weird at 1st, but I got use to it pretty quick. Love my F-3S!!!
I love the Spyder...I describe it as a reverse trike and it handles much better than a "normal" trike. I agree though, it's difficult to get used to turning on it if you're an experienced motorcycle rider. I think the biggest benefit of the Spyder RT is that you can tour in luxury. There are a lot of these up here in Maine.
When I make the decision to ditch two wheels, this is what I’m getting!
Love your review. I've had 2 and 3 weels. I drive the Can Am Ryker now. Its great. I love it. It has all the enjoyment of outside on a 2 weel but you have to be a bit more hands-on. Benefit? I have muscular dystrophy I'm quickly approaching the stage where I can no longer ride. I've been thinking about getting one of these Can-Am. Thanks for the review
She has the touring model.
They make a sport version with almost no storage! Very cool!
I have 2018 LT and I have neuropathy causing an issue with the foot brake due to the partial numbness in my right foot. I'm thinking of switching to a 2021 Spyder f3-t from the 2018 RT. I need to make a comparison. Braking is iffy on the RT due to its placement.

You should try out the can am ryker. I have that and its amazing 👌. Very different but its pretty fun
My sister wants one. She says she thinks it's more stable than tri that have two wheels in the back... She is older too 61... So you are right about that balance thing with age... Thanks for sharing... Much love... Stay healthy and safe...
She should get one.
They are pricey. Even used.
@@Torsee yea I know that is what she don't have$$$$
We have al lot of "piaggio Mp3" and "yamaha tricity" like stuff rolling around in the Netherlands ...
How FUN to see you riding in my home town 🥰. That was awesome.
The windshield goes up and down on some models to adjust for the rider. I am looking at buying one. I have ridden cruisers, sportbikes....I want the stability now...being older. It is a motorcycle.

If you do a review on the Slingshot, then you HAVE to do one on the Vanderhall Venice or Carmel, you wont regret it!!!
Here in Montreal Quebec we see a ton of them. Mostly because it doesn't require a motorcycle licence (endorsement). Also Can Am is a Quebec company.
Wait a minute!!! You're down in MY neighborhood!
Welcome back to SLO!
It DOES have breaks on all three wheels, not just the back. 👍
Your video is amazing like if you are recording in 1200 instead of 1080 or higher its really really clear !!!!!great video
Lola 2.0 looksss sickiiiii😍😍😍😍😍😍also evoo is lifee😍😍😍

Friend of mine bought a trike recently and said the same thing about his, it’s more work to ride actually but he loves it !
Another awesome review video Kat I wanna get a trike for my bike, but I wanna get the trike that u saw while reviewing the can am. I've been looking at that trike for year's now.
Damn, that thing is MASSIVE. I've tried the Ryker, great fun :)
Trikes are HUGE here in central Florida as well as the Polaris Slingshot. Just a bunch of us Puerto Ricans over here lol
It has three brakes , all three brake at same time and has abs.
well this was an interesting thing for you to review lol. lowkey proud of you for not calling it a motorcycle (i can't tell you how many people here in colorado boast about their 'motorcycle') 😂 i am impressed by all the storage it has lol.
You may want to add, in California you don’t need a motorcycle endorsement to drive a three wheel motor vehicle, your common driver license will do.
It has a 1330cc engine
I test rode a Spyder a few years ago, I was surprised that I liked it so much. I'm not comfortable with it in the turns though, just feels weird to me.
those wind screens are adjustable they have a button to go up and down
Great video you are the 2nd person who is worth wile watching. Most of the others such lemons
BTW, the can am doe NOT lean into turns, the rider does the leaning and if done properly is quite stable-it does take some getting used to and a several minute video is not a sufficient learning curve

The windshield is electric. You can move it up and down.
You should review the sling shot i got a chance to ride one a few years ago i think you would like it.
I live outside Phoenix, I see tons of retired snowbirds in packs of these! xD
Hi kat like your review of the can am have seen them in the UK lovely bike come trike love them.👌👌👌👌👌👌
wait till someone lets your review their Yamaha Niken
You should ride a Ryker next, its a smaller version of the Spyder, I’ll let you borrow mine as we leave pretty close to each other, I ran into you pretty often :)
Her turn comment I feel might be inaccurate. I watched a different video on this one and he was very adamant that you need to lean into turns and it will move much more naturally!
Awesome review...very good job.
I'm getting it!
0:49 Could we get Kat's review of the Magna next please?
Have one spyder rt limited. I love love mine.
2:45 insanity kicks in
💕
She does not know how to properly turn the spyder which is why she doesn't like it. It's actually quite simple when you know what you're doing. It doe s not turn like a traditional motorcycle and takes a little getting used to but I can take turns just as fast as I do on my harley softail
If this is your first time testing one of these things out, you SHOULD KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE HANDLE-BARS. USE YOUR HEAD, LADY!
How many minutes to warm up engine
Here in Tennessee I see them and the Harley a lot
Great hwy machine
8:51 Scoolage.. there ya go 😂🤦🏻♂️
All the wheels have brakes. They are synchronized with the foot pedal, just like a car.
I want one.
I do see them here in New Zealand!
They should have named this the dale that would have been funny
I don’t see a lot of those in the Houston area personally. I know there are a ton of ladies that own/ride them in the area. Again don’t see them too often. I see ALOT and I mean ALOT of Slingshots.
Me at 6:33 mind: If it’s mint to be you say? Me out loud : I hope I see mk4 Supra
I saw a Harley guy on this and laughed it out loud 😂
She should try the tric with 2 wheels in back
2wheels is better up front the windshield is good the trucks throw rocks all the time in tx
Is it stock because it sounds oddly quiet
i always thought they sort of leaned a little like a bike?, is it a rigid platform and steering like an ATV?
Yes, rigid steering. There are non-Can Am models that do lean/cantilever, but are mostly in the custom build arena. Except for the Yamaha Niken, most factory tilting 3 wheelers are, essentially, modified scooters. Although Kat noticed you need a little more effort to turn, she could have found out that the Can-Am will take a quick turn much faster than regular bikes.

In va you theirs a special license for
3 wheelers
Can needs a Triumph Tiger for bagage space ;)
it needs lights i seen some costume
Are you still in the area I live near there?
this is nice wow
Well first of all, if your'e going to give a review you should know what your'e talking about. Like saying it only has rear brakes. It has three wheel braking, front, and rear using the brake pedal. It has front brakes you ninny. Like a car it’s just one pedal. Surprised you figured out the wind screen.
I have a harley davidson tri glide and love it. It has one wheel on the front and two on the back. I have health issues and this is the safest way and best as far as I am concerned. Can am spider is a snowmobile with tires on it. Lol
ssshhhh!!!!!
Hi mom!! Sorry I know i’ve been lacking on twitch :(
Warm up time
Got the need to be organic In your review. However; a lot of "cons" featured are a part of the bike mechanisms. You'd only know that if you do a little bit of homework prior to riding/review. Not sure if it's really considered/called a "trike". Thx anyway!
Like , I mean like ,,, wow like wow like
lindo vídeo
you need buy one
Let's review something we have zero knowledge about.
The price is the issue. Expensive.
I heard you only need a drivers license for these
At 5:10 she goes for the front brakes just to realize there is no front brakes.
All the wheels have brakes, just under one pedal. Antilocks standard.
