I love that you have topics that no other reviewers talk about. I've been looking at the Spyder RT and this video provided great additional info. Thank you!
Thanks! I'll be driving 3 wheel products from Can Am for all of 2025. Stay tuned, I have a number of things to talk about that I think others aren't mentioning. Feel free to subscribe!
Got a 2022 RTL , fine driving it in a rain storm recently with a good 4” of standing water! But when the snow / ice comes it’s in habitation until the spring, that rear wheel doesn’t have enough traction in the snow. Plus BRP don’t condone owners using it in below operating temperatures! Void your warranty if something happens while it’s like this! Don’t use wax on windshield, use a good polycarbonate cleaner, I use novus works great. Ride safe , glad you enjoy the RT we do too, puts a big smile on my face every time we ride! Regards Stephen Alberta Canada.
Just got back from Great Bend it's beautiful! Just had to get my old Spyder rt on large concrete drive covered in ice and snow, Donut city had a blast ya but, it dripped water for 3 days thawing out. 1 and done. EH
@ yep the back lane were our garage is , goes from snow to ice . So don’t venture out even if we could, plus I had to fill out paperwork when I picked it up stating I wouldn’t use it in cold temperatures due to possible damage to components under the bike that need to be at ambient temperature! No problem we just wait until spring comes to start again! My garage is heated so there’s no issues there & it will be on a battery saver. Guess you guys in Ontario are harder than us in Alberta if you carry on riding! Ride safe regards Stephen.
Rode in a straight down pour for 4 hours in OK last June. I got along well just a little damp. My RTL handle well at high way speeds. I had to slow down because of the poor visibility.
I was thinking, it be very cool to come up with a addon for the panels by your feet at the engine side to have a. Flap that opens and closes, so hot weather you could leave it closed but in cold weather after the engine warms up to open them so it could provide some warmth for your feet. If you know what I mean. Love the video. ❤
I'm on my 3rd Spyder, currently a 2022, same body as in the video. Rain doesn't faze me. Unless it's pouring, I don't even stop to don a rainsuit. The tops of my boots get damp, along with pant cuffs. Gloves, if moving less than highway speeds. You are basically in a dead air bubble as pilot. Rain is directed over and around you, and the mirrors actually do pretty well at splitting the raindrops around the grips. Your co-pilot is going to get soaked though. There are larger aftermarket windscreens that can help widen the bubble and kick the air (and rain) over the co-pilot. I wouldn't ride in snow, but have been on the Spyder on cold days, down to 25. Heated grips, seat, and layers...it's doable.
For sure. I'm going to be spending most of next riding season on various 3 wheeled vehicles from Can Am, so I'll be covering just about everything that people want to see. Stay tuned!
Yeah, I don’t usually get into the exact differences between older models and current ones, unless I have them side by side. That’s a fair observation though. Thanks for sharing!
I totally thought the same thing. Why not buy a Miata... Then I rode one. Now I get it. A Miata is not a great road trip car. This is a fantastic road trip vehicle. I'm a huge fan of Miata's, but it's entirely possible to like small convertibles and this. They're just so different in the experience. There's literally nothing like riding this, and it's just so much fun. I'd still love a small convertible, but if I had the money, I'd have both.
Playfulness? At least I can do wheelies on my New Harley Tri-Glide!!. I test rode a sea to sky. And the brakes suck!! And after the ride i could smell the stink of CVT belt burning hot!.
Doing wheelies is fun, off-road where there is no traffic. Just out of curiosity, have you had maintenance/reliability issues on the tri-glide? HDs are very pretty bikes but I have heard/seen too many reliability issues to warrant spending that much money on one (that’s what you get hiring for DEI instead of merit, knowledge, experience, or capability).
It doesn’t have a cvt. It is belt drive though. I’d rather buy a can am. Harley donated $50m to child gender surgeries and climate control activists with their German ceo…

Another great video. My RTL is my only vehicle and I’m not worried about winter, and I live just north of Buffalo, NY.

Yes on the tall wind screen for ryding 2 up! With a closable vent even better. RYDE SAFE
Hi Peter, another 3-wheeler that looks fun.
Yeah, I could ride around the world on this without hesitation! It's excellent!
Thanks Peter great video you covered a lot of great points take care ride safe
Would you please do a video that shows how to open the frunk, how to check the oil, add water to the radiator bottle etc. Thank You.

The pre 24 doesn't have the multiple heat settings. Just high low and off.

They are wonderful vehicles. Great review!

K & M? I thought was a "CAN AM". Maybe I clicked on the wrong video.?
I never said K & M.
I can't think of any reason to have this instead of a small convertible car.

Haha. Not going to lie, that sounds pretty fun!
hmmm, no cvt belt here!!! no cvt.

Test drove the Tri Glide. Horrible. Love the Spyder and picking up a new 2024 Sea to Sky in 3 days.
