The Ryker is ‘something different’ on the road and attracts many positive reactions anywhere I go. I own the 900 ACE and improved some things: 1. The cheap $10 seat from factory is just a piece of useless rubber that kills any back (at least Rally edition has adjustable suspension). So I got the comfort seat which changed the ride totally. 2. The sway-bar and plastic links are designed to ride in highways but on closed curves the bike shakes and behaves awfully. I installed a firmer sway-bar and links and curve stability improved like 100%. 3. The exhaust is heavy and feels as if doesn’t allow the engine to deliver better power and efficiency. I got a third party lighter exhaust not so loud but better quality and also K&N air filters. 4. The factory saddle bag is a must have to carry stuff. Now it rides like a dream and my body can take 250 miles rides no problem, and I am a kid getting close to its 50s...I can’t wait for the next ride...
@@richvarela9636 you are right most of the exhausts offered are very loud, and costs around $400. In this case I had to invest $625 one offered by Treal performance but it was worth it. Sound increased but on a reasonable level and power improved as well.
I want one so bad.. My Birthday is in Nov, And I'm trying to make that month my purchase month.. And I'm going too follow your suggestions of upgrades when I do. Hopefully I can find a used one with all the Bells & Whistles already on it.. Ijs
I’ve had my 2021 Ryker Rally edition for over 6 months now and I absolutely love it! Impossible to flip over which is why it’s the safest 3 wheeler on the market. It’s also the fastest 3 wheeler on the market but I mainly bought it for the safety aspect and to get back on the road again for my much needed wind therapy!
A fair review. Would have to add that there is an easier learning curve and a greater safety factor compared to a two wheel bike. Opens the door to a new group of riders. Thanks for the review.
I stumbled across this video and was totally impressed with the precise and factual review. Im happy with my Tracer 900 but can see the market for a vehicle like this. Incredible amount of info provided with the road test - well done!
got my 2022 900 ACE in San Antonio in August and hated it UNTIL i made them come pick it up 100 miles away..to get it balanced and aligned! they say they do it after it comes out of the crate, but my dealer did not. got it back 7 days later and it rides great now. it was all over the road above 60 mph before.
I have a Ryker 600 best thing I've spent money on. It's fun, safer than 2 wheels and allows riders a thrilling fast ride w wind. Sure it's got weaknesses first off mod l did was sway bar and end links. That's a safety issue and most ppl switch it out. I'm glad l did!
me too.. same 600 ace i had the dealer switch that out before delivery... on the hwy it holds up great ...a much more stiffer confidant ride....safe travels...
@@petrkarv yes before l swapped out the sway bar to a thicker 33% stronger steel and the plastic stock end links my bike was bouncing on the hay at speeds above 55mph. After the switch l stay in lane l don't sway the bike stays in place under me. Big difference.
Thank you for this video. Since your made it, Ryker has made those adjustments that you spoke of for their Rally 2022 and above models. Everything you mentioned is included including better Comfort seat, suspension adjustment that the driver can set themselves with a turn of a button, and upgraded exhaust and KYB shocks. I am purchasing the 2023 Rally model brand new this morning.
I had a stroke 2 yrs ago so with my balance issues can no longer ride a two wheeler, I have a Kawasaki 650 Versys. Have signed up for a 3 wheel motorcycle course to see if a Can-Am is right for me. Thanks for your video.
Good video pointing out the pos/neg of the Ryker. Overall for the price, it's a fun and different experience, and as you mentioned - if you want attention or a lot of looks, this will definitely get it for you!
Very enjoyable review. I've seen a few around the UK on my travels and wondered what they were like to ride. Though even as an older rider I still prefer two wheels, if nothing else for the ability to filter past traffic. The UK and particularly around London where I live is very congested. But it's interesting to see another way of riding for whenever I can't manage on a bike any longer. Thanks.
I just bought a Ryker for our son who had a stroke four years ago which crippled his left side where he can no longer work a clutch or shifter of a motorcycle. I am almost 70 years old and drove the Ryker home 100 miles at night in the rain and 52 (F) degrees. The weather was not ideal, but I had a blast all the way and was not wore out at all. The only thing I am concerned about are the brakes. They seem very weak to me when compared to a regular motorcycle.
I have the Spyder RTL & road with a local group of Rykers, they love them. Im 52, there were 2 others that were older than me & the other 5 were younger. So just goes to show you it appeals to a wide range of riders. 2 of them are looking to up grade to what i have but still love their Rykers.
Just aim the potholes at your knee and you will miss all 3 wheels. And if you have to hit one hit it with the back wheel so you don’t mess the front wheel alignment up..
Heads-up to anyone who is thinking about buying a Ryker, have been experiencing 2 vss codes, when this occurs the bike goes into limp home mode and will only go 34 mph and much less up hills. First time this happened twenty miles from home and the fastest way home would have been the interstate, but you cannot ride 34 miles an hour and less on the interstate. We ended up having to find back roads and ride with a motorcycle following the bike with the hazard lights on to keep someone from running into us in the dark. Bike went into the shop for 2 and a half weeks got it back drove it 30 miles and the code limp mode came back on again. Back in the shop today but this is a very dangerous and unreliable vehicle. Cannot trust this vehicle to take it on any type of a road trip. I am hoping that they fix it this time and we get it back and it throws a code so in South Carolina the Lemon Law will apply in they will be forced to buy this dangerous and unreliable motorcycle back. Do your homework on the VSS codes before you think about buying a Can-Am Ryker.

I’m going to get a test ride on one of those, I have a problem, my other half doesn’t want me to get a motorcycle, I do, but to be fair she’s put up with frail nerves over the years, what with my crazy character, then too make matters worse our son, got crazy running throughout his blood 🩸,in one ☝ word Motorcycling me with my GSX1000ccR stage ? 200bhp r/w himself with Yamaha R1 M all singing and dancing, entertaining our self and enjoying life together on the road? Before this we had raced in grass tracks meeting’s from Kent across to Cornwall, we being in Wiltshire we rode 1000cc R/H outfit well over 210bhp with some serious success. Then foot mouth stopped all racing on fields my son Jarno got itchy feet, I I courage him to do short circuit racing, didn’t want him to ride on the road, then the rest is history I had a really bad accident on my GSX basically a white van man trying to take a blind corner on my side of the road, me air lifted off,one month in coma broke neck damaged nerves pelvis broken in two sternum bone split lengthwise two steel rods and plate to fix pelvis and sternum, smashed left elbow, now left in chronic pain and weakness, but I feel like there’s unfinished business something wrong to put right, one of those machines could be what I’m looking 👀 for I’m just turned 71years not done by a long chalk! Couldn’t make this stuff up,even if you tried to
Well I ride a 2 wheel motorcycle, but i borrowed my wife’s Ryker for a 50 miles ride yesterday. I must say after that ride, that I am totally sold on the Ryker. It is the most fun and powerful machine I have tried. One of the benefits is, that you are not sensitive to wind in the same way as you are on two wheels. I was going 75mph on I25 with quite a lot of side wind and it was doing very well with that. It is just a more safe feeling to ride a Ryker. I also like, that you are sitting on it like a motorcycle and have the same feeling of the wind etc, which I enjoy. Some other brands have you in a seat more like a car. The you loose the feeling of driving a motorcycle. What I had to get used to was steering with the handlebars instead of leaning into a turn. But to be honest, that only took 5 minutes. You still lean your body into a turn (not to fall off), but it doesn’t make the Ryker turn. You can only turn it with the handle bars. Another benefit is, that the Ryker made my wife want to go out and ride with me. She was not confident riding a 2 wheeled motorcycle. So it opens up for a segment of new riders - and I think that is so great.

Do you need a motorcycle license for this thing? And can you drive this in interstate?
Depends on where you live but there is a trike only license that’s easier to get than a motorcycle license. Otherwise a motorcycle license would work.
Not in norway, car license will do
there is a back suspention gage on the ryker

An overweight and underpowered bike that doesn't lean. Sounds awesome.
