Fairly similar for my setup, currently on a 255/35/18 on a 18x9.5 +40, running 5mm spacers to clear brembos for the nt03s, I do want to run 265s which will clear easily. I too had to roll the rears and trim a bit of the rear bumper when slammed, but I run with a 1.5-2 finger gap for exhaust clearance. -2.8 front and -2.5 rear camber

Awesome video bro. I've got a 2009 STI hatchback myself and I'm looking in getting Rota Grids, 18x9.5 with 38 offset with 245/40 18 tyres. would this be alright fitment. I'm keeping stock suspension for now and I think I will have to roll the rear fenders. Let me know what you think. Thanks
Appreciate your support man! That should be fine as long as your roll the rear guards for sure. You might have some slight poke in the front but you'll probably get away with it
Mate, had ppl at Bob Jane try and warn me of 18x9.5's +38. I'm new to all this - they said rims that size would be hard on drive train and suspension, would be illegal and not covered by insurance. They said theyd fit the tyres to 18x9.5 +38 but refuse to put it on my car...Your thoughts? Stock suspension atm on 2010 Fxt...
Go to another store mate. I know they're not illegal but I'm not sure what your insurance deems as appropriate. That size on stock suspension will probably be too wide though so I'd be going coilovers before trying to fit otherwise you might have some issues with rubbing.

Hey mate, yeah absolutely. I think that the only way you won't need to roll your fenders is if you're stock height and you're running something similar to stock specs, so maybe like a 19x9+45 with a 245 tyre. Pretty hard to avoid that inner lip in the rear fender 🥲
I'm running 18x9.5 +45 on a 245 / 35 / 18 and no rub on rear

@@brandenburchfield1874 I had Michelin ps4s and they rubbed with the 245 / 40 / 18 but they do run abit wider then most brand tyres. .
You could try 255 / 35 / 18 it will give you abit more height.

Great question! I'd say definitely not. If you're going to stay stock suspension then the most I would go would be an 18x8.5+38 offset
I have some 18x9.5 +45 with 245/40 tires otw and am on stock suspension. Do you have any experience with these specs? Will it sit flush or poke a little?
Might poke and rub a little mate. Try them out and if it doesn't fit, grab some coilovers

Would a +35 offset work? I've heard there's rubbing issues that go with that low of an offset. The wheels I'm looking at (AVID1 AV6) don't have an offset of +38

Depends what the offset is mate but you're going to have to camber the hell outta both front and rear to achieve that setup! Will suggest after market control arms.
Oooh yikes….the stretched look with the 245’s don’t look too good (as evidenced with your reaction at the end of the video). Hopefully you ended up going back to 255+
For anyone wondering I ordered a set of 18x9.5 +38 wheels for my 2013 STI and they don’t clear the calipers.
how? that’s the standard offset that everyone runs. must be the apple design?
@@ariasverduzco5571 no clue. I have Avid1 wheels in the specs above. I have to run a 5mm spacer for them to clear the front caliper 🤷🏻♂️

@@00Lach moving the offset, changes how the vehicle handles and can wear out you steering components
@@112997733 Any increase in your offset and width will put more force on your wheel bearings but this is pretty negligible... This guide is suited to creating a flush fitment that won't give you issues with rubbing.
this volume just aint it, cant hear a word so i turn my volume up, then boom an ad comes up and my shit is blasting now lmao. hopefully this issue is fixed in the other vids

Not a fan of rims with multiple stud holes.. makes it look like you're grab some generic rims off the shelf.
Agreed, definitely would be best to go with a stud pattern that suits your car
