If I had found this collection, my next step would have been to go out back to the pool house and see if we could fit in about 500' of shelves!
Kanawha is the name of what was an indigenous tribe in what is now called West Virginia in the states. A county, a river along with other things were given the name. People from WV pronounce it kuh-NAW. Go Mountaineers!!!
From Morgantown Go 'eers
Bro I just made a comment explaining part of this. I'm ashamed I didn't know this information being from here and having the Kanawha River running right through my hometown
Nice to see, you at least showed two real nice ones. Hope you got a great deal !!
What a great score! ❤
You should give Stevce the 'Cuda, and Patrick the vett. That would be really cool. Jayman...
Hey Alex, did you keep any of the cars?
❤😊
I love it when you're so excited about what you find. You sound like a kid in a candy store! Good luck with the sale!
Someone check on Nitrous Diecast he may have passed out 😵
🤣
😂😂😂
You said if you still had your store. Did u sell the antique shop.
Im still alive! Lol… awesome collection! Wooo hooo!
@@david32901 He announced that about a year ago. I'm not even sure if that's the store he's talking about, he had others before the last one.
When Herbie the Love Bug came to our theater, the theater had a real Herbie parked outside, and when the movie left it's run, my aunt and uncle bought the car!! I was about 7 years old at the time and loved riding around town with them!!! Great memories!!🥰🥰🥰
they did that in the UK theatres when herbie went to montie carlo, I was seven when I saw the film. I said that's not the real herbie because it got the steering wheel on the right and herbie has it on the the left .
I was an observant child
I can tell, Alex is in "hog heaven" . I wonder if he keeps some of these cool drives.
As a builder it is great to see you building YOUR house and workshop. Nothing like the profit margin. Congrats and good luck.
Edit: Crazy to see your boys growing into men. Looks like they have been hitting the weights. Look out ladies here they come.
That's extremely weird to say about underage guys or gals
@@Imageloading... oh get over it, he’s just being nice. Sheesh!!
@@nanachick05 yea, that's still a really weird thing to say about a minor
@@nanachick05 like making comments about underage gals about how their figure is gonna attract boys.
Did people say this creepy isht for probably centuries?
Yes.
Is it OK? Should we normalize this?
No
@@Imageloading... jeez he’s just recognizing that the boys are improving themselves instead of vegging out and playing video games all day. It’s called a complement look it up in the dictionary.
Did you find any cars in there that came out of your store originaly?
Can’t believe you put those green sticker on some of the paper parts of the box. They are impossible to get off without damaging the box. I know because I bought some of your LP’s and they damaged them. Oh well good luck love ya
Auctions are boring and nerve racking !! I still miss the Store and all the people who visited! It was fun!
Me too. I also miss the ambulance
@@oh1226 yes all of that nonsense too Alex made it so much fun for us! Alex is great but the store and ambulance is what drew us to him! Can't forget that first hoarder house either!
It's not healthy to get too emotionally invested in other peoples' lives or things.
I know Kaster has to mark them somehow but why didn’t they put the label on the bottom of the box instead of on the front of the box. If I were a collector I wouldn’t want a sticky hard to remove stricken right on the front of the box. It’s bad enough the previous stickers are on the boxes. Just a thought.
Alex, i am sure you do this already, but do you go on forums and let people know about the auction, i am sure there must be Die Cast lovers all over the internet with there own forums and pages
I like diecast
I would never say, "Alex, what were you thinking?" I've been watching way too long to ever say that.😂
Oh boy , someone is having a blast playing with his cars. 😂It’s like a dream come through for Alex. Love your enthusiasm.Must have been hard for you to let them all go.
I'll take a bet he's held on to one of the chrome cars and one other that he could barely put down (I've no clue about North American car names) 😀
true
I cringed at the auction stickers on the boxes. Hope they come off clean! 😅
Wow! Is the first thing that comes to mind. Just like many have said already "What a great find" I feel strongly that this collection will do very well for you and your family. I just recently came across your channel. You are so blessed and such an angel. You don't just win an auction just to resale but you do for your community as well as give to your community and to so many others. Your passion, desire and determination shows. I'm definitely a #1 fan. You and your family have a Happy Easter 🐣 Great Job!
WOW! That is a super cool collection. Question is... How many did Alex keep for his personal collection?
Amazing collection! Great opportunity to get these awesome cars out to collectors! Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😀 👍 ❤️ 🇨🇦💯💯💯💯💯
Can you just pave the road back to your new building? You may need it in the future. I know it would be tremendously expensive. Just something to think about. Or even just a gravel road. Those are some amazing quality die cast vehicles! I'm sure they will do well at the auction.
Alex, I think you might want to wipe your chin you are definitely drooling now. lol How fun this is for sure. I didn't see the Bandit black Trans AM though. lol I had a 81' TA and a 67' GTO that I used to drive. You are going to get a great deal off these. Have a great day
If you find a 1960 Mercury Monterey Convertible i will buy at auction. Please reply if you find one. Thank you.
Scott T.
Okay, so which ones did you keep for yourself! What an amazing haul!
I just found your channel! Great find! I like your enthusiasm! New Subscriber! I hope you make out great on the sale!
Okay - I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did - lol! Very cool cars - but then I grew up in Motor City, so it's in my blood!
The Coke truck would also appeal to some women. That truck has it’s own collection in many houses of the red truck for Christmas. So that one will have a fourth draw. I haven’t seen you this excited about a buy in a long while. Have fun Alex!! 🤟🏼🤍
Or an Aston Martin DB5 or a VW Camper (or "bus" in N. American lingo) or any of the European models 😀
Honey, I just spent $10.000 on toy cars hehe Great buy Alex
I bet Melissa is in full support. She is awesome.
i bought a few cars off a frined and all 1/18 scale and paid like 50 bucks a car tho most were worth well over a 100 bucks
It would be difficult to me to sell any of them
That is a great collection of cars. The Maisto are probably the lowest end cars but you should still do well on them. The Burago are Italian made and sell good. American Muscle always sells good. The Auto Art should bring the highest amount. I use to buy and sell these all the time and always did good even when I had some at discounted prices. $20 each is a good purchase price and I am think you will more than double you money on this collection. Makes me wish I was still in Canada buying and selling die cast and would love to have some of those cars but would cost a fortune to ship to the Philippines and then not much room here for the 1/18th models. Good luck with your sale and I will be watching for sure.
Alex, with such a large number of cars wouldn't you be better off financially to break the lot into 2 or maybe 3 sales a month or so apart?
The first one to whet the appetite of the collectors, then plenty of time for the word to get around the collector world to bring out the competition and the bigger bucks on the subsequent auctions!
People waiting through 500 individual sales may drain the enthusiasm of the buyers.
I have absolutely no interest in model cars - but I am really enjoying your enthusiasm - and I’m mentally adding the potential zeros to your haul profits
I do hope the auction date is promoted well - there must be collectors websites that you can tap into
I live near a NASCAR track, you could've easily unloaded a lot of these there this weekend. Herbie the Love Bug brought back memories, haven't thought about those movies in years. Hope the sale does well!
My husband had a large collection of 1.18 scale, mainly American Muscle and Concept cars. Sadly we lost him to cancer, so in the future I will need to downsize his collection which breaks my heart.😢
So sorry to hear. I’m sure the collection brought him many hours of relaxation, I wish you well.
I'm into rally cars and I just saw you sweep past a UT models Ford Cosworth??? Those are selling over here in Australia for over $200. Most of the 1:18 race cars of various versions are very hot at the moment and command high prices. I bought a guys collection last week (11 cars LOL!) and they are selling like hot cakes. That collection you bought has b=got to be the worlds biggest car museum in miniature.
We want to see the ones you kept for yourself. Lol
Alex: You're going to have to put a parking area in with gravel for your trailers. Wow, that's lots of cars! Good luck with your sale and Happy Easter to you, Melissa & family!
But what did you keep ??? 🙂
this is making me so excited!! i love love collecting 1/18 scale cars
Collections of large die cast takes up so much personal space. Sitting in boxes is no fun.
I'm so sad i wasn't born anywhere on that continent, you guy's have so much great stuff
The guy next door has over 2000 1/8 cars, All Australian Holdens, Fords and Valiants.
Not a" NASCAR guy" English teacher, librarian who happened to live in Charleston, Kanawha County WVA, the state with all kinds of history of moonshine stills and fast cars to get away from the revenuers. I'm betting that car is pronounced the same as the County : cuh nah. John Andretti drove #14 Kanawha Lumina. He was the nephew of Mario Andretti.
Alex, what a win! You deserve to make a fortune! I also want to say I so enjoy your channel, and that you have an amazing wife...not many women would put up with having loads of half finished cars, trailers etc around the house! Keep going. I found you during lockdown here in Joburg, South Africa. Lots of luck with the auction. Sarah
Mrs. Archbold is an amazing woman, and she is a partner in the family business. I've never seen any indication that she's "putting up with" anything.
@@GuyWithTheDogs I made the comment about `Melissa with love an admiration. she is perhaps the most supportive wife I have ever encountered!
@@sarahhudleston832 Again...why would she not be "supportive"? She's a partner in the business!
@@GuyWithTheDogs oh get a LIFE!!! They said nothing that should have made you talk to them like that!! I might be a supportive partner in a business but I can’t say I would want all the stuff he brings in all around my new house!! But I would appreciate how he seems to work to have the kind of life they now have.
@@wandafrmbama5803 What do you know about MY life? And the fact that YOU wouldn't be a good partner in the type of family business featured on this channel has nothing to do with how Melissa and Alex run THEIR business or their lives. Perhaps you haven't paid close enough attention to these videos, but the two of them often work right alongside one another...along with the kids when they have time and are needed.
i used to buy these once a year in banff alberta they had a candy slash diecast cars for sale new and some of the ones i bought were $169 per american muscle that was back in the early 2000's . i love all of these you have.
I went to Kastner auction sight and couldn't find this auction listed
It must've been hard for the owner to let all of his collection go. As an older person, I know those sorts of transitions and letting go of the past can be hard and emotional.
It was a bit difficult letting them go , but I did keep my 1/64th collection
Mr. [former owner], did you delete your very interesting comment? I wanted to say, being in the same boat, that when getting rid of things it does help tremendously to have control over where things go and to whom. You know your collection is now entertaining people all over the world who get to see it!!
@@kennethjackson7815I collect 1/64 scale too. Maybe we can trade some time.
Terry Carnes , I am very comfortable as to Alex doing what he does so well .he is a fantastic entertainer
Alex, My Hubby's uncle is part Cherokee Indian & was born in KY & lived in WV. His name is Kanawha, but he pronounces it Ka-noi. It is awesome to see his name on that car. 😊
How many did you keep?
What a great collection! I don't even collect cars and i saw about 10 I would love to own!
I spy a black Mercedes in the garage. It would appear Alex got his 190SL. The black and red look sharp. Can't wait to see a video on it...but what car is leaving? My guess...the Citroen.
I have a small collection of 1:64 die-cast models. I stick with stock examples of various cars and pickups and they sure don't take up much room! :)
I like 1/64 cars too
Have you considered the plastic grid that you can drive on that allows the grass to grow through it. You are going to regularly have the same problem driving to the cabana with your purchases. Although I am sure you have something in the pipeline
Alex i can tell by your voice you are very excited. Awesome old cars from the 20th century.
Alex, which car did you end up keeping?.
From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
If he only kept one, I would be shocked 😂!
Normally when construction vehicles need to pass over soft ground, they put down steel plates. Why did that not happen for your construction site, Alex?
Because it was still frozen, I presume? :)
I wondered the same. Even if the ground was frozen, there is always a risk this time of year that there's a week where mother nature warms up before going cold again.
I think he has also had several different contractors in (concrete, frame, roof, windows, electrical, plumbing, flooring, interior, etc.). Maybe not all (if any) were equipped for lawn/dirt travel.
Hey, didn't expect to see Rock-valley mentioned in a video from a guy in Canada. Hello form Rockford, IL!
The collection is awesome! Hope you sell every last one of them! Happy Easter to you and your family!
My brother in law has a few of those cars in his game room so I will definitely be interested in this auction. Will check back for info on the auction date.
The Prowler was based on a design created for a competition by Chip Foose when he was in his final year of design school. The original design was eventually produced by Foose Designs as Hemisfear and it's even cooler.
Wow that's amazing. Chip is really good at what he does.
I owed a 1974 Chevelle Super Sport in 1989. It was nearly impossible to find parts for it. Mine was a hotrod as it had a racing engine dropped under the hood. It was white with green interior. It was a really cool car but dangerous to drive when it rained, lol. I loved that car but sadly had to sell it due to it needing a part we couldn't find anywhere and I needed a car to drive. That was a very sad day. And yes, the man I sold it to knew about the ONE bad part and the fact we couldn't find it. I also owned a 1969 Mercury Marquis, (aka: The Yellow Submarine, lol). it was BIG but I loved it.
You will do very well with this sale 👍🏼
The Plymouth Prowler came out when I was in high school. Our school bus would drive by the dealership in town and they had a purple one and a yellow one prominently displayed for all us kids to drool over.
I love old cars too but I love really old cars. My favorite is the Stanley Steamer. My family has connections to that family from way back and the name Stanley has been given as a first and middle name of some family members.
You named my 57 Nomad. Can’t wait for the auction. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Alex, please put a reserve on these cars, even if it's only $30 to $40 each.
Alex is too excited! The burning question is...several auctions or new wing added to the house? 🤣🤣🤣
Great buy! Have fun going through it. Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Extraordinarily cool collection of cars!
I think I would faint if I was in the presence of that collection.😮💨
What sort of inventory system do you use? Barcode?
I think I would concrete the mud hole, because you use it for parking all the time and you drive in the back. Plus it would be another pad to park on. Car collection is really nice.
300+ US Car Enthusiasts would love to get their hands on some of these - hope the auction can be OPEN to Online...
I still buy 1:18 scale cars. They are the perfect size for my dollhouses.
I know you have nothing to do with this I have to tell you this, so hopefully people won’t complain. Are you going to use the same auction house? I don’t think they are too reliable I won 35 items. and have received only 10 or 15. They say something like on hold somewhere it’s been too long. Have you had any other people saying that they are not reliable didn’t know if you were still going to use the same ones don’t think I could order. from them don’t trust them people I know it’s not his fault I know it’s none of his business. Just thought I’d let him know that the auction house doesn’t seem too reliable.
Chicagoland Mopar Connection Rock Valley Chapter ... that's my hometown. "Rock Valley" usually translates to Rockford, IL in this area, and sure enough, that's a local group. Fun to read about. Love watching you collect and sell.
Alex, did you find (and keep) one of every car you have (or have had)? That would be an awesome collection for a display in the garage.
Alexander,
I've been watching you a long time, and I
have no doubt you'll turn a decent profit!
Cheers,

Absolutely love the die-cast cars!
I predict a 400% ROI. What a fantastic collection.
I am 69 years old I stumbled across Your channel buy accident., I started watching that videos at 9 PM and didn't get the bed Tell 3 AM. Has Jerry McGuire Would say, You had me at hello. Love your videos.

Please don’t take this question the wrong way….what do people do with those cars? They’re all in original boxes with tape still on. Why?
Awesome find! 💓💘❤💝💖watching your videos, thank you for sharing and have a great night!
I forgot to ask this question, You are always Up front About how much you pay For collections And other things, But I personally would love to know if you made your money back or a profit from these kind of sales Or is this something you would rather keep to yourself? If so I do understand.
is " The General" in that collection?
I love the video. Any 1967 Firebirds ? Just finished restoration of mine. Paint next week
Alex, if you say you know doecasts, (and I totally beleive you do), you know what you are getting in to. I will be watching closely (I used to collect 43rd scale cars)....

Noticed most of the boxes are marked "Made in China" are you sure they are worth anything? Love your channel been watching for years.
I worked at Wal-Mart in the early 2000's, and these sold in the toy department, and I had about 20 of these, but did sell them during a cash shortage.
What a fun buy for you - this won't feel like work! Looks like you might have a couple of future presents.
Stickers. Nooooooooooo!!!
What will you use for a drive way to get back to new building?
am i right in thinking anything over $20 a car is profit, and most will go for over 100 he's making 6 figures
WOW STEVEN IS A ALEXANDER CLONE. THE BOYS HAVE GOTTEN SO BIG AND LOOK MORE LIKE MENTHAN YOUR LITTLE TEENAGE BOYS. CANT BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU THAT LONG. DONNA/MICHIGAN
Things to watch out for the transport tapes sticks to the paint work,
The metal casting may be affected the paint and you get defects paint blisters .white seats change colours ,plus othe stuff
