If there's one thing i love about Paul is the fact that even after all those years he still plays every single note with such a passion...Amazing player!
Mr. Big is one of the most underrated bands ever. I loved them the first time I heard them. When Lean Into It came out, I was blown away. Man what a lineup. As a matter of fact, I played Lean Into nonstop. I was dating this young woman back then and everytime we went out I had Lean Into It in the CD player. I would always sing To Be With You to her when it came on. I ended up asking her to marry me and she said yes. 30 years later, we are still together and To Be With You is our song.
@@GuitarBrigadechannel Yes, they are. I guess the term 'underrated' is because their albums were not commercially successful (best-selling or million copies of albums sold) if we compare to other bands, such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, LZ, AC/DC, Metallica, or even BTS (wtf).
I remember buying Racer X Street Lethal in 1985 and then Second Heat in 1986. I was hooked on Paul Gilbert then and then Mr. Big showed not only his amazing technical ability but musical growth. Damn, I love this cat!
I've been a huge fan since my 6th. grade (1996) and now, my kids also love Mr. Big a lot...In our ups and downs, Mr. Big's songs were played or sung or heard with immense feelings...and indeed, this band has become a family thing for us...Just can't describe in words, but thanks Paul and others.
What a beautiful song! Brings tears to my eyes good times with my family listening to this when I was 9 years old was blessed to see MR.Big at parkwest Chicago lean into it your damn life was so easy back then.
Paul has shaped my playing as a guitarist, my greatest influence, the best teacher I've ever had (his old VHS lessons were priceless). I still am a gazillion miles away from playing as good as he does but I'm still very happy my hero is still kicking ass up to this very day.
Mr. Big is one of my favorite bands. Such gifted and amazing musicians, geniuses of their own instruments. Miss Pat Torpey. But I'm glad Eric, Billy and Paul are still rocking hard! Love this song so much. Paul is such fun to watch playing. You know he puts his heart on every note he plays.
I remember learning this (wrong) when it came out, then seeing a friend of mine play it and blow me away. What a creative lick and catchy as hell song. Loved this album so much. Eric's voice was amazing on this song.
Fantastic, Mr. Paul Gilbert Big. I've been a huge fan of you and the band since the beginning. And this song I got the intro back in Guitar Player Magazine when I was younger. Life is like that, sometimes we disbelieve our potential and I ended up going through it for a long time, unfortunately I lost a lot of what I had already learned and achieved, because my mind is always being bombarded with this "dismay" throughout years old. But it was great to see this video, to see that you don't stop, it keeps getting better, and I'm going to take this solo, this intro, this song again. Thank you Mr. Pablo Gilberto for your compositions, your mood (your video lessons were the best), your inspiration and perspiration. Thanks. Carlos Roberto, 46 years old, Goiânia, Brazil. Music Teacher, Photographer and other things more.
Outside of the mindblowing and tasteful guitar playing, this track is one hell of a vocal melody track. These boys can harmonize and compliment so well!!
One if my favorite songs of Mr.Big music band, and one of my favourite guitar heroes Paul Gilbert, with his music lasting forever! We love you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, be healthy, happy, beloved and good luck to you, your family, friends and all the people worlide!
Paul was already an accomplished guitarist when he was in Mr Big. Now he is a way better guitarist and a legend. i respect him because age doesn't make him stop learning and creating songs. He is more creative nowadays than when was in Mr Big.
This man is a master. Those old songs with he’s new sound doesn’t work at all. But the man stay one of the best guitar player of all time, so interesting.
Playing this song with my brothers was a dream came true for all of us because we love Mr. Big. We love Paul Gilbert. One of my sibling had passed away 2 years ago but the memories of playing this song with him will remain in our hearts forever. Likewise knowing and loving Mr. Big.
I feel nostalgic to listen Green tinted sixties mind but I was astonished to see Makita’s drill simultaneously. Thank you Paul for playing this song! I looking forward to meeting you guys again in Japan!
The intro of this song is the reason why I learn to play guitar back in 90's. Well I still can't shred until now, but playing guitar does change my life. It saves me. Your playing & energy was still the same like years ago when you still with Mr.Big, but last couple months I started noticing all of those white hair of yours in several videos and it just struck me that I never say thanks to you for Inspiring me.. Thank you Mr.Gilbert..
remember back in 91 that this awesome song came out i was 13 back then just had lost my parrents in a heavy accident . smoked menny joints on this song it always made me feel so good thank you mr big for always beeing there for me . miss you somuchts mr torpey thanks for everthing you have done for us fans may rock on in heaven .
I'm Thai, I first heard this song 29 years ago, and I liked it as soon as I first heard it. And nowadays I still like to play this song whenever I have to travel long distances. This song makes me happy every time I hear it. I always love Mr. Big band.
That makes me smile from ear to ear 💜💜💜 what makes me more happy is that I recently seen these fine men perform the whole Lean Into It album along with other classic Mr Big songs.
Awesome as always, Paul! Amazing how hearing this song brings back strong memories of being 16 years-old, summer of 1991, eating too much pizza and drinking Jolt staying up till 3AM with my friends.
Fantastic !!!!!! A great song by a great band that are amazing musicians. Btw, thank you Paul for being an inspiring guitarist and educator within the guitar community

Probably the best guitar intro to any song ever.

Guitar protege and genius. Totally 80"s awesomeness. Nothing in the past 30 years even comes close to this technical guitar playing giant.
'prodigy'
One of the best songs ever written. Can't help but be happy hearing it.
I was just 17 when i saw MR Big on this tour back in 1991 this song still reminds me of happy teenage years...
Couldn't have said it any better..
I miss those times and this kind of music so much.
Can’t go wrong with sweet descending bass melodies…pulls you in and warms the heart. 🔥
This song is such a perfect rock pop song. I just love that chorus chord progression. When you hit that F#7 - perfect!
And the 5/8 tempo in the music break, just amazing
Yep. That chord makes the chorus
めちゃくちゃ懐かしい…。

when you thought you already heard the best version of Green tinted sixties mind😅 the phenomenal paul gilbert!!!!!
My favourite shredder as a person because of the mix of skills and coolness.

that intro gives me goosebumps every time I hear it😭
Still one of my favourite intros on a guitar to play, it some how reminds me of a record skipping backwards effect. Timeless great song.
I can watch Paul play and never get bored. He's so technical and precise. Flawless.

I can agree 100%
go check his online school. I got better even after a few video exchanges with Paul. He is there for us!
I wish Pat is still around and would have his own videos like those of Billy, Eric and this of Paul.
We love Pat
Pat Torpedo...incredibly talented and under-noticed drummer of AMAZING caliber. RIP my drumming brother.

Oh man... this is already my favourite song ever. Add in the echo effect for Eric's voice and that Gilbert overlay and Imma die happy now!
The greatest guitarist that I had the pleasure seeing live. Bravo Paul!
Watching this man play with nothing but pure passion always makes me smile.

I remember seeing Mr Big opening for Aerosmith in Milano in the early 90s. Honestly, they blew Aerosmith off the stage. Very impressive.
Now that's a show I'd pay great money to watch! Dammit...I wish I was born earlier! 86 wasn't enough!
It was 1993 and I was there... what a show!
They're the only band I can think of that opened for Rush without the fans never booing them off the ticket!
was born in the wrong year, either. wasn't there a clip of that
This song actually has some 80's Aerosmith vibe.
