Almost 70 years old......with the passion, speed and ability of a 20-something. God bless Billy!!! Thank you for posting this video!
without any doubts my fav bass player
I like his custom guitar style.
Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert. Super amazing dynamic duo. 👍👍👍
今まで何千何万回と世界中で披露してきたであろう名曲を改めてこういった形で全力で届けてくれるという。。レジェンドとしか言いようがない。
Billy Sheehan, an unbelievably good musician, one of the best bassists ever, and already a legend, who has remained humble and personable. A role model for all musicians !
And about Jaco Pastorius, Cliff Burton and John Deacon?
He sure is
@@vitoriosoalexmartins This was about Billy
@@vitoriosoalexmartins this is about Billy but if you’re gonna name drop you need to include several others like Geddy Lee and Chris Squire and John Entwhistle.
@Richard Harrold That’s unfortunate, especially for Billy. Jesus is the way, truth and life. But we all can choose what to believe. It wouldn’t be faith otherwise.
If Billy Sheehan says 'It's got some tricky parts in it..' , you've got no chance...
Truth! 😂
Ask Ellens plays bass to Billy.
This song is 30+ years old, and he’s still into it and playing it with passion. Awesome.
Yeah! So true! Though, i suspect at the time he hadn’t played it in a while.
Not only one of the best players ever, but also a gentleman.
Truth
Salute
And a scholar.
Mr big is criminally underrated
The best *ROCK* player along Geddy
当時憧れたビリーシーンがそのままいた。すげぇかっこいい。マジで最高
That "its a joy to play with pat torpey again" hurt me in the soul...
😪
me too
Then use capital letters when you writing his name please....
Same here 😞
Why? What happened 😕 sorry...don't know
Nothing more to say, other than he's a lovely genuine guy.
I was 17 when a school friend said to me "Billy Sheehan is the man for bass". I'm 51 now. And Billy is incredible. Love him to bits!
Billy is 69 yrs old... in phenomenal shape and health ~
One of the Greatest Rock Bassist of all Time... !
Many people never go on this old. But this man remain touring around the world in years of 70. Amazing. 👍👍👍👍
こんなレジェンドが本人の曲をひいてくれて無料で視聴できる時代が来ることを誰が予想できただろうか、、
So true
感極まります!
いい時代ですね。。。
これはたまらない
Will love Mr Big as long as I live. Pat Torpey will be remembered forever. No one like Mr Billy Sheehan.
Such a great guy. Lived down the street from him for years. Always humble & well spoken. He used to tell me about making mistakes live I learned a lot from him. I remember being in a band that opened for his band Talas I knew all that of them well I couldn’t wait. By the middle of the set I had broken 2 strings on my bass lol playing a 2 string by time we finished. Went to the dressing room he was laughing asked if I carried xtra strings with me I sheepishly said no which he thought was hysterical & threw me a new set of roto sound strings....another lesson learned. Lol.
Great story. I think I have only broken a bass string maybe five times total in my life and I think only once or twice at a gig.
That's awesome mate!
What a story! You lucky duck!
come back to JAPAN!!!!!
I LOVE MR.BIG
またいつでも日本に来てね!!!!!
Pat is indeed a phenomenal drummer. Insane groove on every song he's ever played.
Yes it's thrue. I think the same. That guy was a great drummer.
Great bass line and that light-speed speed guitar solo... OMG! I used to play this legendary song live with a cover band in the late 90's (I was the drummer). The audience was always blown away :) RIP, Pat!
最初見た目がビリーシーンって分からなかったけど相変わらずベース上手くて感動しました。20年以上前からMr.big大好きでよく聴いてました。たくさんの青春と感動をありがとうございました😊本当に感謝です
That 3 finger technique is so smooth and rock steady. Damn.
I saw Billy perform with David Lee Roth when Dave left Van Halen. Concert was in Broward County Florida. Venue has been torn down years now. Watching Billy and Steve Vai perform together was absolutely fantastic. Dave's voice was still there. Great concert, I wish that I had access to a time machine.
A true original. So musically tasteful but still fucking shreds. Fast n busy but still grooves heavy. N that tone n feel?! The greatest!!
i love Billy Sheehan. He's such a cool down to earth guy. Hands down
Man, Billy never get tired of bein such an amazing person and humble musician? This was AWESOME! For more videos like these!
I became a fan of Billy when he joined forces with Roth and Vai. Saw him with Mr Big at a small bar in downtown St Louis and they just tore it up! The band came out to greet the fans that stayed after the show and Billy was such a cool guy! He even gave me a signed copy of the setlist from the stage. Much respect for the man who inspired me to play bass!
He is a legend. 20 years playing Bass and He is still impressive. Remember seeing Mr Big in VHS in 2004…and today I Can really understand what was going on in this bass line. Anyways… no words to describe how I still feel when I listen to this song.
This is absolute Gold Dust….Brilliant…Excellent….Fantastic….
I don’t remember how many times listened this song ,maybe over a thousand,
But always can get excitement same as first time I’ve listened it 25years ago….
It’s a legendary piece! I feel the same way when I hear it.
this song gives me chill, billy...
Mr. Big is a band comprising of highly talented musicians which is AWESOME!
He keeps slapping that Yamaha like that theres ganna be a shotgun wedding rofl I've literally never seen another bassist like him he plays like a solo guitarist
And hes a humble NORMAL human being willing to interact with us lowly people
a master in every little detail ....
That groove is University Of Rock right there. I've been digging on Billy since the early 80's. He's a beast of a player.
Happy Birthday Billy Sheehan, saw him live in1994 with Steve Vai,amazing bass player and yes,a gentleman ❤
Billy is one of the greats! His humility proves it. An inspiration for playing the bass, and being a human being.
As a kid, Billy was one of my "guitar" heroes. As an adult, he's even more of a positive role model. He demonstrates humility, kindness, grace and imperfection. These are incredibly useful values to have. Thanks Billy!!
“I can did it fast but it’s hard to do it slow” lmao, I love it!
どのアーティストでも思うけど長生きしてほしいなあって思う!
出会えてよかったありがとう!!
もちろん出会ってない今生きてる人たちも含めてね!
He is the definition of what a good rock n roll bassist should be. Tight, solid, technical lines here and there, bright tone,no unecessary fancy slabs . 🤘. Billy Sheehan. G.O.A.T
Your awesome man! Still Kickin A** #GodsOfThunder2023
今でも鳥肌が立つぜ!最強神だ!
His right hand is out of control! Just unbelievable.
Billy's tone is unmistakable. Unique and a pleasure to listen to. Living legend on bass.
Beautiful - Miss you Pat. Rest well brother you lived a great life.
gifted and talented and humble Great musician love you Billy !
4:29 Love that Billy's been playing a million years on a million songs, and still feels the need to address a tiny mistake that nobody noticed.
Billy Sheehan has been a legend for over 40 years. I will never forget the times I have seen Talas. It was an event and a party. The crowd was always blown away. I can still hear Billy's bass echo in my mind.
That is cool for bass players.... and I agree Soooooo good hearing Pat's drumming again... Miss that awesome drummer.
Saya orang Indonesia. Mr. Big adalah band favorit. Tehnik bagus, namun tetap enak didengar, merasuk di jiwa. Rock N Roll, Romantis, slow, melow.
Sungguh band yg sangat perfect menurut saya. Selain tehnik masing2 player, mereka semua juga mampu mainkan nada dalam bervocal. Sehingga eric martin yang memang sudah bagus, makin mantab tercover sempurna karena 3 rekan di belakangnya.
MASTER BILLY SHEEHAN - THE MITH - THE LEGEND!!!
Man what can i say,so amazing and so humble at the same time,Billy is a God Bass
I saw Billy do a Clinic in Manchester in the early nineties. Sat about 6 feet away, one of the most incredible experiences ever!
He is BASS GOD. Respect
Billy, you and Pat were the best rhythm team.
Thanks for the great play!
Billy is one of the best bass players in the whole industry, no matter what music genre. He inspires me so much to keep playing bass and perfecting my technique but also, how not to drive yourself crazy if something goes wrong. Something I struggle A LOT with!! I have this specific record (of course because I LOVE Mr. Big), but also for these "minus" tracks that you can jam with and sort of deconstruct with the right software. LOVE YOU Mr.Big!!!
Watched this live in Liverpool last weekend and they were all amazing!
Thank you Billy. You are the definition of bass player for me.
Billy's awesome, my all-time favorite bass player. The level of talent in Mr Big was insane!
As per par for the course, Billy Sheehan play through with an additional lesson and tidbits of great advice! Thanks for sharing! We all miss Pat still. Thanks for keeping his memory alive (and kicking)!
Met you and the rest of the band at Dullas airport in 1990-91. I was 20 and in the Coast Guard at the time. Y'all were sitting in a quite portion of the airport when I noticed you. I remember freakin' out because I couldn't figure out how you knew I was in the Coast Guard? You said it was because I had my Coast Guard hat in my back pocket. I felt like a fool. Then you told me your dad was the Commandant of the Coast Guard once. Y'all were very gracious to me. Eric pulled out a Sharpie and y'all signed my white electric guitar. That was, 32 years ago. It was such an awesome experience. Thank you for your kindness and graciousness.
Billy is a seasoned pro on bass , one of the best ever. As good as he musically it is exceeded by his being a humble ,down to earth human being.
Love the tone of the Attitude II. Distinctive Sheehan sound
He's been my fav bassist since around 1990. If I could put together an all time all star band Mr Sheehan would 100% be the bass player.
This is a joy to watch
Billy's magic is his right hand, period.
I've seen him as well as John Entwistle, same thing. Both could play faster than the audience could hear, LOL! The cool thing about both was that they only played quickly if the song needed speed.
You are my hero and will always be, sir Billy Sheehan
Omg rip Pat Torpey!! He was such a talented musician, he could play, sing and write!! Like only a few could!! Thanks Billy!! 🙏🎶🌞❤️ God bless!
Billy = GOAT and one very cool guy that makes fans feel wanted! Love Billy and will alwasy support him in any project he is in. Billy's got more chops than a steakhouse man!
WOW!!!! I really enjoyed this even better than the album version!! RIP Pat!
I always love to see Billy playing - you can feel he enjoys the hell out of whats he is doing.
So cool! Thanks, Billy. Learning this tune for band practice right now.
Saw them open for Rush on the Roll the Bones tour. Saw them at Alcatraz in Oklahoma City on the Bump Ahead tour. Met all of them after the show. I ran up to Billy and said "Nice to meet you Mr. Sheehan". He said "Mr. Sheehan's my dad. I'm Billy" and shook my hand and signed the set list I took off the monitor after the show (still have it). Spoke to Pat a few minutes about playing on the Robert Plant Now and Zen tour. He was a really nice guy and a class act.
Billy is one of the all time greats. I hope he comes out to entertain his audience as much as he did before that covid thang!
He's incredible, i saw him twice with MR Big 1991-92 in the UK.
What a great dude HUMBLE and a gentleman
This is simply beautiful!! Awesome bass line
What a sensational pioneer of rock bass. Billy you are inspirational.
This man is such an inspiration ! Really loving his technique !
I love watching Billy or Paul. You really feel how much practice you need
He is busy as heck while remaining tasteful and that is a total skill.
My favourite bass player of all time, love u Billy
That live version of this they played in Tokyo is fucking awesome, Eric's vocals were in the stratosphere. Sure wish I got a chance to watch them play but never did, being a single dad back then was hard and I was penny pinching broke, luckily those days are behind me know and I'm retired. If they ever reformed I'd definitely buy a ticket!
Billy, you still kick a**!!!
To be honest I have never seen anyone playing bass guitar better than Mr. Billy Sheehan. There might be people who play jazz etc. I don't know. For me the second best is Steve Harris. But Billy Sheehan is in another level he is a virtuous bassist I have ever known.
Richard 'Dick' Lovgren is another brilliant bassist. And then there is Julia. Julia Plays Groove Channel. She is a prodigy.
i agreed
Stu Hamm?
@@simon27101 No frikin way, bro. Hamm is good, but he's not..how you say?....
Second for Stu Hamm.
Saw Mr Big in may 1991 Newport UK, such an amazing band live, outstanding in every way. Met them all , really nice down to earth guys. Such great memories, sat on their bus opposite Pat Torpey as a starstruck teenager. R.I.P Pat.
Still a phenomenal player. Sounds freakin' incredible.
🥰RIP PAT ! We all miss him! We know very well that YOU/WE was were like a part of ONE with Him and Mr.Big! And as for you Billy... you have been giving us such beautiful moments for years! Thank you all!
There's technique. There's musicality. And there's a much more comprehensive concept: Billy Sheehan.
Thank you Billy
The one and only 👌
Mister Billy Sheehan 🙏👍
Billy Sheehan is one of nicest people I've ever met.🙂
Dammitt! that was some killer vocals on that track 😮
Played this song in my cover band. Bass and vocal duties for me... Crazy hard on both fronts. I played it on my Fender P Bass Lyte, autographed by Bill Sheenhan when I saw Mr. Big in SLC Utah at Rafters. Thank you Billy, are my bass inspiration and a helluva a nice guy.
I'm a Guitar guy but, He's always been Inspiring to me Ever since I've seen him With DLR in the Eat em And Smile Era..
Still blown away to watch even after listen this so many times
Descanse en paz ese fenomenal baterista llamado PAT TORPEY.
Sabia que ele estava doente mas não que faleceu... RIP
Billy I saw you in Greece once around 15 years ago and since then I am picking up my jaws from the floor...
That was fun! Gosh, 30 years of Alive N Kicking🎉That whole Album and you Billy, are "irreplaceable"! Until we meet again for a Colorado Bulldog, Hot Shot♥️👗👠💄🌹🌉
ギターソロ中のベース線のエグさはおなじみです。💖
Thanks for this Billy. This song and addicted to that rush are two of my favorite songs of all time. Fast tempo, high energy. Absolutely love them!! 👍👍🤘🏿🤘🏿
