Trying to de-Google your life, shift to a more secure email account, or get rid of that old username that’s haunted you since childhood? There are a number of reasons why you’d want to get rid of your Gmail or entire Google account for good.
Whatever your reason, today we’re going to walk you through the relatively simple process of completely deleting your Gmail account. However, it’s important to understand some background and details about the process before you send your Gmail down the river once and for all:

The third party account is needed if you choose to delete only the Gmail service. If you choose to delete Gmail, Google needs a mail address from you so you can still use the other services like UA-cam otherwise you can't log in to UA-cam or Google calendar anymore. If you don't care to loose access to all of Google's services you have to select 'delete my Google account' and not 'delete Gmail'. Hope that was understandable and helps.

About a year ago, I went on the delete google account page, I wasn't gonna delete my google account, I was just messing around on the page and seeing my data, I never clicked the delete account button, I left the page immediately after that.

Hey please read all, I have an important question 👉 On the manage account settings (Android UA-cam App) I was meant to go on another page, the change password page, but I accidentally went on the delete google account page, I entered my password in the "To continue, first verify that's it you" page, then it brought me to the delete google account page, that's when I realised I accidentally clicked on the wrong page, I left the page immediately, I didn't click on the "Delete" button. Am I fine?

This is all very good and well if its the entire service, such all Gmail, that you wish to delete. I have two gmail accounts. I am trying to delete one of them. Not the service entirely. I won't be able to designate my other gmail account as the one I want to use.

How long is the recovery access possible?
There's a 20 day time limit: the account must have been deleted no more than 20 days ago to be able to recover it.

I had UA-cam way back in 2003 and signed up a google account to get google chrome Nov 2013... I didn't like that signing into UA-cam I had to sign threw Google.... For security reasons you cannot use the same email login, no.
this doesnt work, tried deleting gmail and in order to continue with the process u need to do a verification with an alternate email address, in my case i dont use anything else rather than gmail, so this video is pointless

From my understanding each gmail account you set up is then associated over time with various other accounts/services such as UA-cam, play store as you start using the gmail account etc. All of these (including the gmail account) are under an overarching 'single Google account'. So therefore when you setup numerous gmail accounts - some people have tens of dozens of gmails - etc each one is under its own Google account
If for example you want to delete one single gmail account (and of course any associated services like youtube with that gmail account) you do as you have instructed but choose 'delete an account'. By doing this you delete only a single gmail account but not any other gmail accounts you may have as these other gmail accounts are each under a different Google account when you set each up.
Would you say that this is a fair summary? I know Im being very, very obvious, but what is not obvious with many video's explaining this subject leading to anxiety for many viewers is most videos don't make it clear enough that by choosing the 'delete an account' option you DO NOT delete all your 'other' gmail accounts but only that single gmail account (and its associated services). So people stress out and are left wondering and kind of fearful of pushing the delete an account tab. They then and end up trying to set up an alternative email like hotmail to try and delete a gmail account to avoid the delete all button - which is silly.
Anyway, please let me know if the above it correct - as Im one of those kinda wondering but kind not now ehehe :)
If you have multiple gmail/google accounts, you have to delete it one by one. Deleting 'example1@gmail.com' won't affect 'example2@gmail.com' 🙌 You can have 5 accounts and delete only one of them, other will stay untouched.

I didn't finish the deletion process. I never ticked any boxes or clicked on the "Delete Account" I just basically went to the Delete Your Google Account page (By accident)
But my question is, is the Delete Your Google Account page saved in my history or anything? If so, I hope it's not. Also I didn't use a browser, I used the android app.
