I knew that a period could be used and still have the same result, but didn’t realise I could just input that into sites and it would pick it up as a different address. This is genius, thank you! Such a simple, easy tutorial to follow.
You must not use UA-cam a lot. I learned to fly a plane on this platform before passing my test. Remodeled my house with it. YT is awesome for learning.
This is the only thing that I was able to come up with@@779hollywood... Although you're not going to reduce the amount of email or spam that you'll receive in your regular inbox... You could however, use the modified alias to create a filter in your inbox that would automatically put all emails sent to your alternate address in a sub 📂 folder to reduce clutter in your main inbox.

Kinda surprised this surprised anyone! I literally figured this was the case before I ever heard about it anywhere, and tested it out. It's obvious that G stands for Google, so it was pretty obvious that Google would work as well as G.

And dont get me started on syncing and logging into websites using mail. It gets super confusing. So yeah, im gonna only use 2 specific random words after the plus, and filter it by that, for my professional and un professional account.
It's a shame that plus addressing doesn't work on multiple sites, because the characters you're allowed to enter into the email address field when registering or signing up for things are usually parsed for security reasons and thus don't allow any special characters like the plus + character or < > etc, to stop code injection. In other words if your entered address doesn't match the standard format of 0-9, a-Z @ recognized mail server, it won't let you register.
Brilliant, i always need to create a new account in clients name but with email address to do business for them then passing the account to their email address, it works like a charm.
I think a big part of the answer could come down to: being able to organize better, by tracking all entities that you've entered the "new" email address into. Then whenever you see this "new" email replied to in your inbox...you know its origin (unless of course, when receiving the new email back, it shows up as your original email; but I don't think it does.)

10/10! It's a rare day when I learn something new in the tech world, but by golly this Gmail address stuff I have no idea about and I'm so stoked to now be aware of it. But you're NOT making 2 accounts, it's still ONE SINGLE ACCOUNT, and all emails will go to the same inbox. It's one account, so why add more info to your email address to make it longer? For example, if you're doing this to have a "junk" account to use for free trials etc, if you do this, all that new junk mail you're gonna start getting is gonna go to YOUR EXISTING INBOX!!!!! And you can't just delete or stop using that new "junk" address, BECAUSE IT'S YOUR PRIMARY ACCOUNT!

This is interesting but what good is it? When I sent an email from one of my current addresses to my regular address with the plus name added and then I hit reply back to my secondary email address it came back as my regular email and name. I say again, what is the point?

The "dot" method will not work. That email address will come back as undeliverable or will be delivered to whoever else actually has that email address. Either we all didn't follow or her "dot" instructions are incorrect

Perhaps it's just me but what's the point of the dot or plus based names if everyone knows it leads to the same inbox? I can see the dot as a handy way to make the address more people readable so instead of having two or more words squished together they have a visual separation.
Other than aiding in defining rules to move incoming emails into specific folders (or to apply tags) based on the address used by the sender, not really sure about the added value of creating new email addresses. It's not shielding your address from some vendor's future data hack as it's trivial to strip off the + suffix & reconstitute the account's actual local portion of the address. Perhaps I'm missing some use-cases where an account's security is improved by this? It can also help to track how incoming email came to be sent - ie. a unique address used for a given service, it becomes easier to see if that 1 service shared your email address and that's how some other senders got that 1 unique email... That's potentially useful.

Will it work for me IF I want multiple email address "sub" accounts or "alias" accounts or whatever without having to create another google account SO i can separate all my work emails and my utility bill emails, etc into different FOLDERS on my iPhone mail (like i have done for years with my old spectrum email, but i get so much spam i am leaving spectrum)??? ALSO... I don't want all of the responders to my various email accounts to go into my main email folder.

Most people simply click 'Reply', and this will use the modified email address, so that you can search or add labels to help organise your inbox.
