My dad used to have the 2004 Corolla I when I was very young. One thing I remember was that shifting gears was butter smooth, almost effortless, or at least that's what my dad made it look like. No issues, ran like clockwork for the entire time my dad owned it. It's a shame he didn't keep it, but he bought another Toyota.

These Japanese cars are amazing. My dad has a 96 Civic and maybe has close to 300k miles and he barely takes care of the car. Still to this day runs great.
I got my 20 year old Camry for 1500 bucks a year and a half ago after watching your videos praising Toyota, and other than replacing the door handles and a hood that doesn't latch after the previous owner had a fender bender, it works wonderfully. It's got over 250,000 miles and they just keep trucking.
I have 2007 corolla with manual transmission. Those things super reliable. Couple winters ago we had -30F in Chicago. It started right up. I needed to go to Minneapolis and did 800 miles round trip in -30F. I wouldn't hesitate to take my corolla to Alaska and back. In 6 years owning it I changed starter, alternator, brakes and did oil changes every 3k miles. 240k miles and runs like new!

I got a 07 Corolla S with 306,000 miles. Everything still works perfect. I drove it 3 times across the country from Los Ageless to Key West within one year! I change all my fluids religiously!
Thanks Scotty. These 9th series Corollas are the best imo. Bought a 2006 LE 3 months ago for $2500 that had 366K miles. Looks just like the one in the video -pristine. The only issue with these is the intake manifold needs to be changed out with the orange silicone one which the prior owner already did. Oh, plus the stuck Odo at 299999. But I just use the Trip Odos. A for the 5K oil change and Trip B for fuel fill up to gauge gas mileage. It gets 30mpg on 87. Yeah, a big money saver! My 3rd Corolla. I get to keep them until something hits them -car, deer, etc. I always buy them used. VVT-I is a no-brainer which are known to go 800K miles or more before a rebuild. Also supposedly by law the Japanese have to replace their engines every so many years so there are a ton of used 1.8L Toyota engines on the market dirt cheap. The 9th series is my favorite due to its highway-speed handling.
I bought a 2003 Corolla wagon a year ago. 230k on the dash. No rust. Looks and sounds like it’s new. Only problem i have had in the last year is the drivers windows cable that snapped, so i can’t open the window. It’s amazing how well it has been engineered and built.
I have a 2007 and my uncle bought it at 9,000 miles, my mom bought it from him at 215,000 miles, I have it now at 307,000 miles. Never changed any of the drive train. Just do the maintenance the book tells you.
I have a 2013 Corolla S with the manual transmission. I absolutely love it, my goal is to hit 300k miles, I’m half way there. Best daily driver car ever made in my opinion.
I just found you when I bought my 370z and I've been hoping I don't run into a video where you rip my baby apart or me for buying one 😂. I love your videos you're hilarious!
Love your work scotty i have a 98 corolla for the daily work commute. simple reliable transport ,never stops. Done 220000 kms gets 35mpg. best car made i think. Tony from Australia.
I repaired a two inch crack in the plastic top tank of my 1997 Tacoma radiator, with JB Weld plastic bonder, part number 50139. It's still holding up after two years. Plastic radiators are made from nylon (thermoplastic) because nylon can handle the range of hot and cold temperatures. This product is the right stuff to use.
I've been a mechanic for 30 years and I've seen many American cars go and go and go. Having said that the people that owned them changed fluids and filters religiously. They kept them clean and fixed things when they broke.
Toyotas are great cars. I just don't enjoy driving them like I do the European cars. Of course Toyotas win in the reliability category hands down. I hate the compromises in the automotive world.
i feel the same way. I love the way FIATs look, love Toyota reliability, love Lexus interiors, love Honda performance. Sometimes I find myself wishing on a star for either FIAT to make relaible vehicles or for Toyota to make more variety in body styling... You can never truly win :(
Scotty, you are 100% right, in my country where I come from, the taxi drivers prefer the Toyota Corolla, those taxis take a beating every day, no to mention are misers with fuel.
Picked up a 2002. Owned by an elderly lady. 132km. Bought, serviced and even safetied at a local Toyota dealer. A novel of service records. Literally. It’s crazy. Nothing was ever left undone. $2200 bucks. Drives perfect and I couldn’t be happier.
2007 Corolla LE with 190K miles and we just love ours. We bought our car from 2nd owner and it had 89K when we bought it. I got a Pontiac Vibe with the same powertrain years ago, because I could not find a Toyota Matrix, but since the Vibe is made with Matrix parts, I found my 2005 model with 142k and knowing how well the 1.8L engines were, I was very lucky to find it for the price years ago. It now has 175K on it and gets 36mpg. Our 2007 Corolla gets up to 41mpg when I drive it. Welcome to Tenn. we live in Lewisburg Tn. and have been subscribers for many years. I feel sorry for you. 2003-2004 corolla 5 speed is known to have the differential fail. It’s very well documented on the internet.
I wish that I can find a Corolla that cheap wow
I drive a 2004 Toyota Corolla LE. It's still running perfectly, everything on it works, and I have no plans to trade it in.
Ive never seen someone so excited for a corolla lol 😅🤣😂😭
Only Scotty kilmer
For just a second I thought he was going to climb on the hood and start humping it. 😅
@@mauricekwurue4974 can't on camera, he probably would have gotten demonetized😂
I'd be excited with the lack of repair bills
It doesn't break down, great gas mileage, great AC and heater, comfortable and cheap insurance. I'd be excited to buy that too.
I bought a 2003 Corolla wagon a year ago. 230k on the dash. No rust. Looks and sounds like it’s new. Only problem i have had in the last year is the drivers windows cable that snapped, so i can’t open the window. It’s amazing how well it has been engineered and built.
Corollas were never built in Kentucky. This 2007 Corolla was made in Fremont, California or it was made in Cambridge, Ontario.
NUMI in fremont would be my guess. there was a chebby branded version that came out of there too, and scotty even did a video on that as a value car.
@@skip123davis yup, the current day tesla plant building was called nummi
@@skip123davis "Nova and Prizm" ..Chevy and Geo, Corolla clones at NUMMI
I have a 2007 and my uncle bought it at 9,000 miles, my mom bought it from him at 215,000 miles, I have it now at 307,000 miles. Never changed any of the drive train. Just do the maintenance the book tells you.
I absolutely love my 2010 corolla. Bought it a year ago with 87,000 miles. Just put new headlights on it too 😂
I have got a same car 2006 with 205000 miles but it’s still run absolutely fine Toyota is a fantastic car 🚘 to drive
So many young people want the Corolla. Sometimes, it's easier to get a good deal on a Camry instead.
a camry is a "luxury" corolla.....bigger engine, more room, more stylish, n better ride....imo.....
I'd rather have a smile per miles car like my vett.

Thank you so much Mr. Kilmer, highly appreciated your outstanding job, have a great day.
Every three days Scotty Kilmer finds the best car ever made! Awesome stuff 😎😎
Whatever happened to his '65 2+2 Mustang??? 😳🤣
I've been a mechanic for 30 years and I've seen many American cars go and go and go. Having said that the people that owned them changed fluids and filters religiously. They kept them clean and fixed things when they broke.
I'VE GOT A 25-year-old Honda Accord looks and runs great 2200 4 cylinder engine.. I only paid $1,300..
nice! get extra security. tweakers are stealing a lot of hondas lately for some reason, prolly cuz it's easy.
I just bought an 97' accord a week ago! Runs and drives great, even with 188k miles. These hondas are very well made.
@@jaredmejiaarroyo833 on the market since my first dealer bought car got totaled might look for an accord
I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla as well! I bought mine a few years ago with 49K miles on it. Now I just hit 170K and it still runs great!
You can never truly win :(
I have bought a 2004 corolla Gli.
Beautiful car, chilled Ac, excellent suspension and with absolutely minimum maintenance. I love Toyota

are still blinding the oncoming traffic ?
Scotty, you are 100% right, in my country where I come from, the taxi drivers prefer the
Toyota Corolla, those taxis take a beating every day, no to mention are misers with fuel.
I just bought myself a 2010 corolla and it runs like a dream !

I'm 8yrs into my HID on my M37 and it's perfectly fine lol
Stock hid lasts forever. He is talking about aftermarket hid kit. One of my aftermarket hid jist went out. Lol. Need to be replaced asap.
When you live in MN. HID are nice to melt off the ice and snow
Thanks for all your years of helping others and GOD bless you and your family.
4runner is not going anywhere! I think He bought it.
Either that or it's his son's or a customer's and he's waiting on parts or is scratching his head on how to fix it.

Hey, Scotty. I own a 2007 Corolla LE with 135,000 on her. Same color as the one in the video....in fact, identical. Bought her used.....and it is, without a doubt, the BEST car I have ever owned. Love it!!!!!
I’m sure it’s reliable, but bland as dry toast. Newer ones are a bit more exciting.
Awesome video Scotty, I just purchased a 2011 Toyota Corolla LE, it has the 1.8 engine and only 72K miles. The Corolla only had one owner and was in excellent condition inside and out.
Ethel, Scotty’s doing another Toyota video!
I had a manual transmission corolla 2002 i drive it daily & now 20 years later it still run perfectly fine 👍🏻 no wonder corolla is the most selling car in the world 🙌🏻
I still drive my 94 Corolla I paid $1800 for 14 years ago.
So your in the same boat as scotty then
It should be against the law to drive a beater civic or corolla! Drives like a tank. Road noise, cabin noise, squeaky and rattling noise, shaky, shitty audio system, slower than grandma walking. U have no reason to drive these cars unless you cant afford a camry or accord.

I got my grandmas 07 Corolla when she passed in 2017. It had 20,000 miles on it now I’m at 148,000. Runs like a charm as long as you do the simple maintenance to it!
And yes, the Mitsubishi Mirage does have a dipstick for the automatic! Modern?

Great confy machine.
Thanks to your videos I decided for it.

The Princess Bride!! My favorite movie...yeah im female...
Long time ago I had 1993 corolla bought it new (1.6 engine with manual transmission) and run it for 12 years and 870000 kms and the only things I did was normal maintenance and fuel pump changed one time .. Toyota is no 1 in reliability and resale value in dubai and can handle the exterme heat in dubai weather

My little Yaris 1.4 diesel, is also near unburstable. Incredible little car.
I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica 3.6 I'm trading it in and getting me a Toyota of some sort
If yours is reliable, you should consider keeping it, because you're not likely to get much on the trade-in.
Try a yaris, they are fun
It's reaonably reliable it's the AWD Touring edition with all leather seats front and back heated seats pretty well taken care of with almost 160,000 miles on the odometer
Only paid 2,800 bucks for it and have had it for years only replacing an alternator and a few turn signal bulbs
No check engine lights and really smooth ride going down the road
