I bought my '05 Vibe brand new and, with 214k miles on the odometer, it still runs great! I've never had a major problem with it. My only regret is I should have bought 2 of them.
Why keep a car so long? I replace my cars every three years. about 25k to 30k miles when I replace them...cars go out of style you know? you don t want to be seen driving an old car,it tells the world that you can t afford new things...bad for bussines.
@@giovannisocci8793 D goal is to be happy with d little or more that u have accomplished, not impressing d world. Unfortunately, if u had nothing at all, d world still wouldn't care ur in need.
Bought a 2003 Vibe GT 3 years ago as a commuter car. Garage stored, infrequently used given it was a second vehicle. 75k original KMs. Amazing how a nearly 20 year old car can hang in the left lane and is so easy to work on. Best $1000 ever spent!!!
I still drive a 2005 Pontiac vibe and love it. It runs so well I can't justify spending an extra 50% premium on a new USED car. As always, love the content Scotty!!
I had a Chevy Prizm back in the day. It was the precursor to the Vibe… had a Corolla engine and transmission and I sent it to the junk yard at 400k miles. Most reliable car I’ve ever owned.
Back in the 90s I rented a prizm and drove around Southern California for a couple weeks. Was surprised how much I loved driving a crappy little chevy and then found out it was a toyota in disguise and it made sense that I liked it.
I have a Pontiac Vibe that I’ve had for 16 years now. I used to work at a Toyota parts department, so I knew they were Matrixes/Corollas in a Pontiac shell. I had a GM employee who WOULD NOT believe that it was a Toyota under the hood. You open it up and almost all the parts literally have Japanese writing on them 😆
The Matrix/Vibe is one the best cars for cheap inexpensive transportation. It's a shame they discontinued such a great design, even my 2017 Corolla IM isn't as good. My friend has a Vibe with 300k and still going strong.
I love my Pontiac Vibe. I paid $500 for mine and I bought it because it's all about Toyota reliability. Mine has the Moon and Tunes package. It's a base model FWD with the GT wheels. The 1.8 liter engine is absolutely amazing. It's a darn shame they stopped making the Vibe/ Matrix. I'm currently converting mine into a micro overland adventure vehicle.
Good day Sir, I’m trying to get one of these but I have no clue as to where to find one at my budget of $1000. If it’s no trouble, I would appreciate if you could you kindly refer me to where I can get one for a good price.
Ya 1k for a drivable car nowadays is almost impossible to find. Maybe get lucky at an auction? I just bought an 09 matrix but still had to pay 2500 for it
Those days of used cars at $500 or even $800 cars are over. Like some others mentioned, people are selling pieces of junk for $2500 or more. The cheapest decent Vibe I've seen for sale now is close to $5000
I drive a 2008 Vibe. I bought it with 150,000 miles. I've put 30,000 miles on it and only had to replace the front struts. I see comparable cars selling now for $5,000. Nothing fancy, but really happy with it.
My mother had a '08 vibe. The only thing that was wrong with it in our time of owning it was the backlight went out on the stereo, that was it. It was a fantastic car, and me and her both loved .
Funnily enough, the radio’s one of the few interior components in the Vibe that was a GM-specific part and not Toyota. Maybe that’s why it went bad lol. 🤣
@@fangzhou3251 If you know someone who's reasonably handy with a soldering iron, there are step-by-step instructions here on YT on how to replace the bulbs.
If you have a good Pontiac, KEEP IT! The value of the older ones are classics and pretty cool! This branding should have never went away! I would have junked the "crooked bow tie" branding in favor of the badass Pontiac brand!
@@robertlawrence9000 GM was also to focused on Buick due to their sales in China. Another reason why Pontiac died. GM ignored it. Along with their other brands such as Saturn, Saab, Hummer and Oldsmobile
@@captinbeyond: I bought a new 3/4-ton (K20) Chevrolet Suburban in 1987. That vehicle spent more time in the dealer's service department than it did in my possession for the first two years. Example: There was a hissing/rattle sound in the right-front door. Three trips to the dealer and they couldn't find it. One fine Saturday morning, I decided to look inside the door. I removed the inner door panel; and, lo and behold, there was about a pint of random hardware (nuts, washers, sheet metal screws, machine screws, etc., about one-third of it rusty) which had, obviously, been tossed into the door as it went down the line. The brakes never worked well. And on and on. Screw GM.
I see so many negative comments about the vibe. It's not the car, it's the driver. You have to keep regular maintenance up in any vehicle you buy. Just jumping in and driving doesn't cut it. I have a 2005 vibe that was purchased brand NEW and still going strong. No issues what so ever and they are easy to work on.
Have an '07 Pontiac Vibe myself.. 211k miles on the odometer right now, single owner car and very minimal rust for a Chicago car. It had been parked for three years when i bought it, and all i had to do to get it started and running was put a new battery in it. After that, all it needed was tires and general maintenance, and it still runs great.
I love my 2010 Pontiac Vibe. Mine has the 2.4L with the 5 speed auto. It has 347,000 miles. Vibes can be found cheap (we bought mine for $950) but people have caught on and jacked the prices up. Just have to find the right one at the right price. They’re sometimes better equipped than a similar Matrix or Corolla. It’s no surprise Scotty approves of the Vibe.
I have an '06 Vibe with the standard 5-speed stick. No power anything and crank-ur-self windows. You can fix practially anything on that car yourself... except the fact the the odometer stops working at 299,999 miles, LoL.
I work at an oil change place and we literally had a guy come in with one of these cars that he was measuring the mileage via trip A and trip B and in between oil changes. He added up the mileage and the car had 419,000 miles on it. I was flabbergasted and also very thankful that I own a 2005 Pontiac vibe. Mine only has 176,000 so still a lot of life.
I bought my '06 5spd Vibe brand new - still have it with 350K kms and rust proofed since day one. Still going strong. It's never let me down, and cost of ownership has been very low. The original ball joints and tie rod ends are still good! I don't regret buying it. I tow a small trailer with it, and with the front passenger seat folded - 8 foot 2x4s fit with the hatch closed :) I love the Vibe!
I was heavy line for Buick, Pontiac and GMC for 26 years. The Vibe's were good sellers and we saw very little problems. We have 2. 2005 and 06. 200k. Water pump and mounts are the only things that went other than maintenance.
I was looking at those old vibes about 3 years ago. Knew they had the Toyota engine and tranny, always wondered if the rest of the car was up to par. Sounds like they are. Decent ones were all in the 2K range, these days they're like 4K with 200 thousand miles. Buying any car these days is absurd.
A buddy of mine had one of those Vibes.. been to the moon and back at least twice, not a straight body panel on it and burnt heaps of oil. Looked like a rolling dumpster fire when you put your foot down. Whenever people made fun of it, he would always say... well a second class car, beats a first class walk 👍
I had a vibe a 2006 the one of the best car I ever had!! Kept it for nine years sold it with 130.000 km what a amazing car and ps the vibe looks better then the matrtix hands down!!
I had a 2005 Vibe, and it was great, but because I live in Colorado, it's real hilly here, and it did need extra oomph, but traded it for an 09 with the 2.4l AWD, and it's a huge difference in power, however, having the AWD system on a small vehicle does lower your gas mileage by a good amount.
Bought a 2008 Pontiac Vibe for $2000. 160k miles, premium audio, sunroof etc. Put about $400 into it(k&n air filter, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, blower motor, alignment, wheels balanced, oil change) took it from FL-TN 4 times already. Car is getting consistently 32mpg. Cold ac 💪 great little beater car to haul my dogs
Just purchased a 2008 vibe with 109k miles. I regret not getting it instead of a brand new 4runner back in 2015. Such good gas mileage and I can fit a ton of stuff in it
I bought such a car with all-wheel drive on the cheap, it traveled in Canada, then in Russia, and now in Kazakhstan. Everyone asks what kind of car it is. Many of us do not know about this car. Engine 1zz - fe. Made a major overhaul of the engine, threw out the old pistons, put restyled pistons with normal oil channels and rings with cylinder bores. Now it won't take oil. All buttons, electronics, sunroof, airbags, everything working. The car is over 20 years old. Suitable for all parts from Toyota Matrix, Volts, Corolla Fielder, Allion, Wish, Opa and many others. Hello everyone from Kazakhstan! Sorry for my english, translated using google translate.
1) Seats can be folded down to form a pickup bed as well as a sleeping bed. This thing has a power outlet and is a mobile tent. The GT has sunroof & 340watt amp &sub-woofer.
Very good info here Scotty. Thank you for your continued car suggestions and support. I will pass this article on to my son as he is due for another car and a Pontiac like this one is a really good idea.
I was the 3rd owner of a Pontiac Vibe . Excellent car I got in Florida drove from there to NY, California Texas Florida then StJohn, US. Virgin Islands 00830. Hurricane Erma 2017 removed some windows and added a few new dents. The car drove daily till 2021 when USAA desired it was cheaper to call it totaled because the parts and labor were more than replacement.
A minister buddy of mine in Florida inherited his late mom's 2008 Pontiac Vibe a five years ago. She bought it not knowing it was essentially a Toyota, ironic since she was fiercely ant-Japanese and bought only American made cars. My friend whose never been very materialistic, drove the same Chevy Malibu for nearly 20 years. After inheriting his late mom's Matrix, he recently donated his old Malibu to a fellow struggling pastor. After seeing your previous Vibe videos, it gave me great pleasure to tell him that his mom's Vibe would probably last him for at least another 10 years, as long as he had it regularly serviced.
Bought a 2008 Vibe from my parents when they started having issues with driving. It only had 99k miles on it and was in pretty good shape for the most part. My dad broke one of the door handles by pulling on it way too hard. Had to have the front brakes fixed along with a computer module that died right after buying it in June 2021 for $1,000. It was a fantastic deal and still runs great to this day!
We had an 06 vibe as our first family car. I loved that car! Never one problem in 100k miles. We stupidly traded that in on a Hyundai minivan that was nothing but problems. Ugh.
OMG, I just checked 2005 Pontiac VIbe and the average asking price is $5000. Scott, you got a great deal and this Video has jet up the price of all the used Vibe.
I have a Pontiac vibe 05 standard. Car rolled over on mileage about 3 1/2 years ago everything is original. If I had to guess I'm close to half a million miles. Clutch is starting to slip but that's to be expected. I've never had a problem, starts everytime. Never broke down and gets great mileage.
the Pontiac Vibe might be the most underrated car of the last twenty years, and one of the best (if not THE best) cars to have a GM nameplate! i always thought they were very sharp looking cars…not to mention they last forever!
@@donjohnson1416 not all of them but they make the best cars let’s be honest. I can definitely tell you the best cars aren’t Dodge, Chevy or ahh German cars lol
@@donjohnson1416 you’re either super invested in North American cars or arguing the semantics on the nature of permanence. Yes, nothing lasts forever but Toyotas get a lot closer than any other car manufacturer.
The Vibe was a better deal because it had more base content and a lower sticker price when new. Toyotas also never offered any special financing like GM always did/does so they were the one to get!
Found an 07 vibe for my friend that just wanted something that won’t break and is practical. Paid 3500 for it not a speck of rust and runs like a top, got scratches and scuffs but she doesn’t care, never let her down after 5 years! Whoever bought it new must have special ordered it, it is the strangest optioned car i’ve ever seen, it has the painted body cladding not the plastic, the most expensive alloys available, the monsoon audio system, a sunroof and automatic transmission. BUT it has manual locks and manual windows, it’s perfect for her nothing can ever break! Also best part is, after a year of ownership someone hit the car on the passenger side and a piece of the cladding came off and they totaled it for 5k, bought it back and fixed it with a couple screws and made some money on the car. Absolute joy to own this thing.
I have a 2004 pontiac vibe with 260k miles. I bought it used like 8 years ago with 72k miles on it and i have never had to do anything to it except oil changes, tires, and brakes. Everything still works including a/c, electric locks, and power windows. Outstanding vehicle!
We have a 2009 Corolla and a 2020 Corolla, both bought new. Here, in the desert southwest, air conditioning is no longer optional. Both vehicles, when new, would not blow cold air. It was cool -- around 62F -- but not cold. I own a shop, so, I decided to check the systems (When both were new!), and the gauges indicated a slightly low charge. When I evacuated the systems, I discovered that both cars were undercharged AT THE FACTORY by about four ounces. That's a LOT in a one-pound system! I recharged to "factory" spec (on the under-hood sticker), and the discharge air in both cars is a cool 40F. Yes, even eleven years later on the '09. By the way, that R-1234yf in the '20 is some expensive stuff!
I heard that GM wanted their antifreeze to be used in the Vibe. BUT Toyota said to stop using that crappy antifreeze and Toyota wanted good antifreeze. GM refused to use Toyota antifreeze so Toyota told GM to pound salt.
@@cdxser91 The Saturn Vue was still a GM-made and designed SUV. The V6 version had a Honda J35 V6 and Honda 5-speed automatic. My dad has one, the powertrain is great but the interior is cheap, and it has DRUM BRAKES in the rear!
Bought one almost two years ago (after hearing you talk about it) 06 with 112k miles for $3700. Nice zippy little car, only thing against it is that it's a little narrow (for me) for comfort. Gets good milage and easy to get in and out of, should last a good long time
Buying one today! $2,500 with apparently zero issues! $2500 is a dang steal in these times.. Toyota Corolla with 200k miles are well over 5k right now it's annoying! I've been searching every day every second for months for a car and I am hoping this is the one!
Vibes were an excellent deal at the time. The dealers didn’t really want to sell them, you could apply GM credit card points to the purchase too. I bought a GT in 2003, drove it for four years, gave it to my son and he still has it. I bought a leftover 2007 in early 2008 for my younger son, he drove it for 10 years, had a relatively minor accident that insurance totaled it. BTW Scotty, the GTs power kicked in when you hit the valve boost I think at 6250 RPM, the engine has some sort of bolt that wears out such that the valve boost won’t engage. You knew it when you hit it, a nice kick in the back all the way to 8k RPM redline.
One video I will definitely agree with & I tell people about these cars. I had gotten a regular '05 Vibe with the Corolla engine & when I couldn't find the weather stripping for the passenger door from GM, I found it from Toyota & for cheaper. Had it a couple years ago for my step-son's mom & only paid $1,000 for it, with 160,000 miles.
That reminds us of a Geo Prism that we had at the dealer where we worked as a asst. parts mgr. where we could not get parts for a car that had been in an accident. The Prism had been built in the Fremont plant & the factory told us just to order parts from a Toyota dealer network so we could get the customers vehicle up & running again. If we remember right we ordered the parts for a Toyota Cressida which had the same body panels & radiator core support. The only differences was the badging & some trim parts. We were able to repair the customers 1990 Geo Prism & several months later we were able to get the trim & badging parts & put them on. The car was almost brand new as it was a 1990 model but was hit later in the year the customer bought it. It was very weird to pickup parts for a GM marketed vehicle for repair from a Toyota dealer!
I Bought an 06' new Matrix back in the day, drove it for 6 years, passed it down to my older son who in turn drove it for another 6 years, then he moved out of state and returned the car to me and now its been driven by my youngest son, so thats been the history of that car so far and it only has 90k miles and let me tell you those Matrix are a war tank
I didn't care about AC when I paid 1,500$ for my 2004 Lexus Rx 330 because it's a freaking Lexus! I had no idea how solid Lexus were when I got her, I had to get new brakes and rotors immediately because she was abandoned for a couple years and I bought new tires bc I'm in Florida and it's HOT! I've had her for two years and I had to replace the water pump and radiator because my engine light is always on so when the water pump went I didn't know until it blew up 😆, but the parts and labor were under 2 grand and it was easy to get parts. I thought I'd have bought a new car by now, but I'm not about to over pay for a car in this market just because I don't have ac, my baby drives beautifully with 180,000 miles.
My 2008 Vibe has over 300k miles, original engine & transmission, runs fine ! I had a 2006 that was running fine with almost 280k miles, only sold it after it got totaled by hitting a deer
I bought a 2009 Vibe in 2017, and I hope to keep it going for a long time. It has around 120,000 miles today. It's a great car, and I'm sorry they discontinued it. I would consider getting a used Matrix if it were a little newer and less worn (because they made the Matrix a few years longer). Worst thing about mine is the paint is wearing off, and a good paint job is expensive. Also, the seat is low for me, which puts the driver's side rear view mirror at an awkward place. A nice thick cushion helps a lot.
My 1992 Toyota PickUp Truck came from the Fremont NUMMI plant, purchased brand new in San Jose, about 15 miles from where it was built. I still have it since new and it still runs just fine. The AC runs perfectly too and has never let me down. If I knew how much it was worth, I might even consider selling it since I bought a new Tacoma since then. 30 years old, always maintained on schedule, still runs well, but I probably wouldn't get enough to make it worth while to ever let it go, since it might still run another 30 years for all I know.
From what I've seen, at least around my area, the cat's already outta the bag. These sell as well as actual Toyotas. I started looking at em awhile back, noticed "hey this engine and various other parts give me some Toyota-esque vibes" and did some background research on em, but by then they were already selling like crazy.
I only ever drove Pontiacs up until gm nixed them out. God I miss Pontiac 😕. Only reason Buick stayed and Pontiac was nixed, Buick was super popular in China 🙄
I agree, Pontiac made some badass rides. Buick should've died because they already have Cadillac, why does gm need 2 luxury brands? 1 is enough in my opinion
I just bought an 06 Vibe for 1300. Great car so far. I replaced the alternator and installed a touchscreen double din radio. The car otherwise is very base except for the power windows. I'm a luxury car guy but this car is fun to drive and it looks great. I'll be driving this car for a while.
Can't help but to notice everytime a Pontiac shows up on this channel they seem to get some good praise from you. I daily a 2004 GTO, it's got almost 200k on it and still runs like a top. Pontiac and Holden made great vehicles
@@HumblyServingGod Yeah the G6s are basically just a Chevy Cobalt, so they were pretty bad. That was probably the worst car Pontiac ever put a badge on. If it would've been a G8, you'd likely still have it today lol
@@robertlawrence9000 Agreed, Pontiac was cooler than its Chevrolet counterparts, like Pontiac Grand Prix was related to the Chevy Impala, the grand prix looked way more cooler in my opinion than its Impala sibling. Screw GM for killing an iconic car brand that a lot of car enthusiasts liked. Who knows what cool cars Pontiac would come out with today if they were still alive
I'm the owner of the car and I did tell Scotty that he catches some ire in the 2zz community and that this might redeem him. I think good on coop too ... just bad as a toy with a young dumb driver 🤣 Throw a baffled oil Pan on it and upgraded oil pump, and take off like a rocket without much risk
@@gabrielkishinevski1473 You should have told Scotty to take it up past 6k rpm for the better engine sound lol. I used to have a 04 Matrix XRS with a long ram CAI on it and loved the sound it made when the lift kicked in. I was sadly a young and dumb 18-year-old at the time, and drove that thing through hell like I stole it. Using it for pizza delivery and later as a contract courier, I put a lot of miles on it and the engine never failed me. I did go through 2 clutches in the 3 years I had it though. Eventually the transmission gave out (probably due to me power shifting it, or loading the car over it's weight capacity) and it started making a popping sound so had to let it go.
I have had my 2006 pontiac vibe for 15 years and it's at 226k miles. I have to give it coolant every now and then, which is a mystery right now. Checked if it leaks in the oil, but oil is fine. I have had thoughts of trading it in lately, but then I watch this video and read comments and maybe I should keep it longer.
Hey Scotty, I recently totaled my 2010 Lexus is250 awd with 155,000 miles. I bought it over 2 years ago with 120,000 for 7,000. The insurance payed me out 7,300 and I now want a newer Lexus for around 13-15k preferably an es350 2013- newer they are just super hard to find with decent mileage for that price. The used car market is crazy these days
I really like the look of those Vibe GT's. I managed a carwash for 27 years and saw so many of all cars on the road including very high end cars. But all those years the Vibe GT was made I think I had only ever had 2 customers that owned them and I never saw any more on the road
My first car. Spent 1000 bucks for it. 230k miles. Had it for a couple years and sold it for 1300 with 270k on it! Was a fantastic first car. Learned how to wrench on it by doing all the work myself since it's easy to work on and got good mpg, and very practical. Never left me stranded although I did replace a lot of parts!
We've had a 2007 Vibe since new, with the base engine and automatic. It has 185K miles and runs great. It's still pretty solid, despite spending its life in Western NY. The A/C doesn't work at the moment, but all is well otherwise. We still have an S-series Saturn too (2001, 94K miles), so we should probably start looking for an Oldsmobile to round out the fleet.
Yea no. The vibe looks awful, the matrix is much more attractive. The vibe looks like a riced out matrix. It literally has factory canards lol. It also has that awful plastic trim that makes it look cheap and ugly. The matrix xrs is the performance matrix and has the best styling as it comes with a full body kit and optional spoiler. The vibe is a dollar store version of a matrix. The only thing I prefer on the vibe is the more aggressive headlights other than that it's horrible looking.
I love these. I have a Vibe AWD with 198000 miles. It got hit so I got a Matrix XR with 220000 miles. I love these cars, but I had to replace the transmission on my Matrix. Turns out the 5-speed manuals on the Matrix are fragile. The 6 speed is supposed to be better. So if you want a stick make sure its the 6 speed.
I owned a vibe for 16 years - best car I ever owned. New England Rust finally got to it and I sold it a few weeks ago while it still had some value in it.
Bought my 05 vibe in 2020 for 950 drove it across country 2 times and sold it at 270k for 1700 After regretting my sale later I bought another vibe with 148k miles for 3200 One of the most comfortable compact car for long road trips even if you are over 6ft tall
My mother actually purchased one of the first car models produced by the NUMMI plant, it was a ‘86 Toyota Corolla FX (not the hot FX-16), the FX was basically Toyota’s interpretation of the Mk1 VW Golf/Rabbit, the FX was the car I learned to drive manual transmission in, she (and I) still miss that little car… My current daily is a ‘10 second gen base model Toyota Matrix…
@@JohnnyTyrone77 i hear ya & scotty (been loving scotty for years) ? I dunno, but for some reason they didn't hold up for other reasons i guess? ( Maybe too many other issues?) because there's hardly any Pontiacs on the road anymore: Let alone the vibes. I love Toyota's though. I even like some of the older classic pontiacs. The vibe just missed the style curve IMHO
Hi Scotty, Now that people have already caught on to what you point out in this video, Pontiac Vibes are often MORE expensive than the Toyota Matrix (Matrices(plural)) out there!! The Vibes have roof racks as standard, the Matrix models do not have standard roof racks.
If you buy a 5 speed manual transmission Vibe or Matrix and the transmission fails, look for a 6 speed manual transmission from a Vibe GT or the equivalent Matrix. When I look for used manual transmissions for these cars the 6 speed manual transmissions are often cheaper than the 5 speeds since the GT engines blow up more often. The 6 speed bolts is a direct bolt in.
My 2006 Vibe with 1.8 auto was a steal. Bought from the proverbial little old lady, 85k, spotless interior, new tires for $5000.00 . More interior room then the new models and no gdi or cvt.

Glad you posted that. I was in debate of what to purchase soon. That wasn't pricey and is reliable.

I had a 90 also. Best car in the world.
@captain miscellaneous , Awesome!
I have a Pontiac Vibe that I’ve had for 16 years now. I used to work at a Toyota parts department, so I knew they were Matrixes/Corollas in a Pontiac shell. I had a GM employee who WOULD NOT believe that it was a Toyota under the hood. You open it up and almost all the parts literally have Japanese writing on them 😆
and they say Toyota on some of them.
I did buy one right before the pandemic. 2007 160k $1500 . With 220k now I could bet $3-4k for it. Best cheap commuter ever!

My mother had a '08 vibe. The only thing that was wrong with it in our time of owning it was the backlight went out on the stereo, that was it. It was a fantastic car, and me and her both loved .
Standard on older Toyotas/Lexus too man, usually a bad earth wire on the back of the head unit, my 97” LS400 has the same issue
my 2005 did the same thing with my radio lights, so I had to replace it a few years ago.
Funnily enough, the radio’s one of the few interior components in the Vibe that was a GM-specific part and not Toyota. Maybe that’s why it went bad lol. 🤣
Same story here. Back light of radio. I just deal with it. Using guess to tune the radio it was quite fun

If you have a good Pontiac, KEEP IT! The value of the older ones are classics and pretty cool! This branding should have never went away! I would have junked the "crooked bow tie" branding in favor of the badass Pontiac brand!
@@captinbeyond I know. Only if GM gave the same love to Pontiac as they did to the crooked bow tie brand it could have been a great success.

Screw GM.
I KNEW there would be a video on the Vibe, just didn't know when.

I’m pushing 400k on my 07 vibe! Never left me stranded. Like I always say a good vibrator never let anybody down.
This car is good! Runs forever with that anti-theft manual!!!
We had an 06 vibe as our first family car. I loved that car! Never one problem in 100k miles. We stupidly traded that in on a Hyundai minivan that was nothing but problems. Ugh.

Got a 03 Vibe GT 124k for $2400 red line 8200 rpm so fun. Made in fremont,CA. the same place my 1970 GTO Judge was made
One video I will definitely agree with & I tell people about these cars.
There are a myriad of things that happen before, during, and after a water pump failure that let's you know.

Pontiac as far as I am concerned were excellent cars! I would buy one even today if in good condition!
We have a NUMMI built 2010 Tacoma and 2005 Vibe in the family. Now Tacomas are made by people who earn just $2-3 per hour.
From what I've seen, at least around my area, the cat's already outta the bag. These sell as well as actual Toyotas. Ephesians 6:24 (KJV) Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
I really like the look of those Vibe GT's. I managed a carwash for 27 years and saw so many of all cars on the road including very high end cars. But all those years the Vibe GT was made I think I had only ever had 2 customers that owned them and I never saw any more on the road
Scotty has a new word: "🐿️ly"
I have a 2004 Pontiac vibe Manual transmission with 700 000km on it still running strong, that’s 435 000 miles
The Pontiac Vibe styling was a better looking car than the Matrix. They also offered a performance version. Great car
Only XRS and GT Come in 6 speed. But 6 speed is easily put into an original 5 speed if you can find just the transmission.
These are still cheap. Don't let the word get out!
I owned a vibe for 16 years - best car I ever owned. New England Rust finally got to it and I sold it a few weeks ago while it still had some value in it.
I have been driving my 2005 Vibe since new here in Ontario. An annual visit to Krown Rustproofing has kept it rust free to this day.
Bought my 05 vibe in 2020 for 950 drove it across country 2 times and sold it at 270k for 1700
After regretting my sale later I bought another vibe with 148k miles for 3200
One of the most comfortable compact car for long road trips even if you are over 6ft tall
800 bucks 2 years ago, but 3 grand now with Brandon as President.
5k now. 😅
My mother actually purchased one of the first car models produced by the NUMMI plant, it was a ‘86 Toyota Corolla FX (not the hot FX-16), the FX was basically Toyota’s interpretation of the Mk1 VW Golf/Rabbit, the FX was the car I learned to drive manual transmission in, she (and I) still miss that little car…
My current daily is a ‘10 second gen base model Toyota Matrix…
If you see a Pontiac vibe it's probably a collector's item *if it's still running* !?! Lol 😆 A throw back or throw out? hahaha
It's a Toyota Matrix engine transmission and body..Why would it break down?
@@JohnnyTyrone77 I guess I don't see many on the road: I do see more celicas
@@thatguybrooke Here in California there are still plenty of them on the road as well as the Matrix.
@@JohnnyTyrone77 I do see plenty matrix here in MD not vibes.. but that's interesting
@@JohnnyTyrone77 i hear ya & scotty (been loving scotty for years)
? I dunno, but for some reason they didn't hold up for other reasons i guess? ( Maybe too many other issues?) because there's hardly any Pontiacs on the road anymore:
Let alone the vibes.
The Pontiac Vibe is basically a rebadged Toyota Matrix.
That's what he just said
@@phatgringo2.0 Right, just like the newer GTO is a rebadged Holden Monaro and the Pontiac G8 is a rebadged Holden Commodore.
Lazy
