I been riding this bike for a month now and the speed and performance is no joke. 38mph consistently, 49mph going downhill. The batteries last a long time. I hit about 18+ miles riding on PAS 5, dual motor 85% on full throttle and the battery meter only dropped 1 bar. If you are riding normal going at about 20mph, you would hit more than 25+ miles before you see 1 bar drop. This bike has a lot of rattles, I got the rattling to stop by putting Gorilla tape as padding on the bottom of the batteries, the dual controllers, and there is a small black box that I also added padding to. Now there are now rattles. I also changed the rear shocks to some coil over oil shocks, they are much better and no more bottoming out. NOT perfect, but price is really good for what you get!
18+ miles and only used up 1 bar. So if I decided to drain the battery all the way down, I would get over 40+ miles on full throttle PAS 5, that’s going 35 mph all the way.
Dude, a friendly tip as a way of thanks for the video: Don't tighten brake rotors with a gun... Do it by hand, preferably with a Newton-Wrench in a star pattern... Probably won't make TOO much difference on this thing, but still: The force these need to be torqued down to varies massively by application... Head Clamps is another example where you should also be really careful... I'm sure there must be a video on here giving you some rough idea how hard to torque down what on most Motorcycles/Bicycles...
Skilled Craftsman at this level that know their tools true limits, and skilled with selecting clutch settings in advance is the difference between real tool techs vs rookie wanabe slamming it full power, full torque, snapping heads off hardware, or stripping fasteners. As AP Tech restoring WWII Aircraft, to head tech for Harley to Honda dealers moons ago, this guy needs no advice from rookie crew. Obviously wide angle lens creates an artificial speed twice of reality. Amazing little dual motor 20" guy that I'm in the market for and about the right price range, and doable by most. I'd consider studding the tires for winter, as done with XR500 pro motocross, where getting back up this steep icy 6 block route is quite steep and difficult even for average vehicle traffic. I've studied Ebike tech for a couple years now, and at seventy, where my ten speed and my knee condition is now too painful & impossible to make it back up the hill from store to home. So obviously electric is the only solution, before I destroy my knees further with attempts trying it in clown gear. Cheers, and great review Captain. Makes me want to try an upgrade mod with larger motor on the rear. Just for the heck of it. The clunking of suspension is probably due to rear shock with zero hydraulics for rebound control, where air ride and tunable hydraulics is needed.
"Stop" signs aren't gentle suggestions, they're actually demands. Actually following traffic laws tends to extend your life. So does wearing a helmet... at any speed... That said, this looks like a great little bike that's pretty compact.
"cops are starting to crack down [on ebikes]" he says while weaving through pedestrian traffic at 24mph on a public sidewalk while narrating a video and using his phone.
Based on the way this guy flies through stop signs, sprays sand on people relaxing on the beach, and almost runs down pedestrians left and right, I get the impression he doesn't much care how his actions inconvenience anyone.
I am worried about this type of thing not being aloud to follow rules of bicycles, it's basically a motorcycle. which by the way if your driving on a road you should be following same road rules of cars, no blowing through stop signs and stuff. But if they haven't already it'll be sad when they say you can't use these at all on sidewalks and bike paths anymore.
@@everettputerbaugh3996 I thought maybe it differs from state to state which I am sure it does but I'm from Florida and here we absolutely cannot run stop signs or lights and so on, we have to follow same rules as cars. but I've seen other youtubers in New York biking who doesn't follow literally any traffic laws and not seen them pulled over so either the laws are different or like you said cops just don't enforce them. It's a bit flustering though if laws are there and people don't follow them and it's not enforced, as a law abiding citizen you have a huge disadvantage with others especially if your competing in for example parcel deliver services and you are following laws and not others, it may also put you in danger if your only one following the rules and everyone else expects you not to leading to accidents not expecting you to stop or do this or what. and then if cops suddenly get a bunch of complaints or something and decide to start enforcing it then suddenly all those people start getting tickets that didn't before is also unfair. I firmly believe in either having a law and enforcing it, or not having the law at all. this in-between crap leads to very unfair situations.
@@everettputerbaugh3996Yes, enforcement is very lax. There was a time when you had to ride a bicycle in the direction of traffic. I can see younger people without the experience riding against traffic and at the higher speeds than a typical bike that will be a recipe for disaster.
Florida just past a law allowing e-bikes and motorized bicycles to role down any path. Sidewalk, trail or roadway. Even if it's sign posted no motorized bikes or e-bikes on this path. Gotta Hand it to Florida. They still believe in freedom.
I've had mine for just about a year now. I'm at about 700 miles. It's been a great bike with no major issues. Just make sure to goop the tires right out of the box. On flat ground my top speed seems to be 35-38mph and you can cruise distance at that speed. Range is a solid 45-50 miles in PAS5. If I keep it down in PAS3 and limit myself to 20mph I can get 60 miles out of it. I weigh about 200lbs. It's not the most nimble thing in the world, but it's quick off the line, fast on the stretches, soaks up the bumps nicely once you put some foam padding around the controller and comfortable enough to ride for the full range.
That looks like a fun ebike . Mine only tops out at 24 mph. The problem with that ebike and others of that can run high speeds, people will abuse the privileges and eventually they’re going to outlaw people riding ebikes on public property. We know people won’t abide by the rules for that class of ebike.
Nice bike but the problem is it's looking too much like a small motorcycle which makes you more likely to get questioned on the streets and sidewalks and bike paths by people and cops. Especially in certain cities
FYI: All Dual battery bicycles run on only one battery at a time. Each battery has an on/off switch. The best way to run the bike is switching one battery on and one off. When your ready turn on fully charged and turn off the other. This way you can control how much juice you discharge from each battery. On my Ariel rider I never let my battery get below 30%. It prolongs the life of the battery. It also depends on how much of a hurry Im in, if i need more power ill turn on the other battery sooner. Leaving them both on it will usually default to one first.
Shame awd on a bike screws up counter steering and stuff. I built one myself a while ago. The idea was to have something fairly road comparable to a 250cc motorbike, but it ended up just being insanely dangerous at high speed and wanting to high side you. I did manage to fix it somewhat by lowering the power of the front motor but it still bucks in corners and all manner of issues, especially in the wet on a lean. I converted it back to rear drive because it just wasn't a good ride to use it anywhere but in a bit of dirt or down the local bike paths and such. It's great in concept, or when used just as a standard bike to get around on, but if you want some speed and actually ride the thing hard at high speeds it's better to just run a powerful motor and gear it accordingly for road use. They handle like a dog's breakfast otherwise. Even the Chinese production electric motorbikes are absolutely terrible to ride unless you are commuting around the corner. You would never want to take one for a semi-decent ride, else face constant near death experiences. I've been road riding for 20 some odd years, and track racing for at least 10 of those. And not to mention dirt bike racing since I was around 4 or 5, so something like 27-28 years. Trust me when I say, AWD bikes are a gimmick. I'm sure they have their uses for a few things but nothing notable.
@gabys2 not a problem 😀 just thought I would share my experience for anyone interested. I hope I didn't end up coming off as arrogant or sound like I was making an argument from authority. While I fo have a breadth of experience riding bikes, there is always something new to learn and a chance to grow your talents when riding a bike. Particularly when you race, as meticulous inputs for greater control when entering and exiting corners as quickly as possible is dependent on making even the most minute changes, consistently just to shave off fractions of a second. So I certainly hope I didn't come off that way. And to be honest, I'm hoping someone else comes along with more experience with AWD bikes, as my experience with them is fairly mediocre at best with only a homemade converted road bike, that will know a great deal more and can provide some insight into how to get an AWD bike to perform better. It's just to the best of my knowledge and from what experience I do have on them, that having the front tyre under power also, messes up the suspension geometry and loading when entering, in and exiting a corner, as it doesn't load the suspension the same by causing it to rise while under acceleration. I'm sure there may be a way to counter this by setting up some modelling for testing and running vigorous testing with different setups, power ratios between front and rear, and even perhaps completely altering the position or direction of the shocks, as the standard bike setup simply doesn't work very well, but I expect there may be a way to get it working well with enough testing and alteration. But alas, that is for the big manufacturers, with theirnbillionndollar testing and simulation facilities to research. With All that said, if someone wishes to make one, absolutely you should! Perhaps you can work out some aspects to have things working a bit smoother that I didn't have the time and money to put into it as I am a full time working father of two and have a business to run l, all while maintaining my motorcycle riding addiction 😜 I must admit that when I was off-road and down the trails, AWD came in handy on occasion, and particularly once I had installed a microcontroller that allowed me to change the power distribution on the fly, so I could change the bias to mostly front, so 70% front and 30% rear etc. Because that was extremely useful for when climbing uphill and prevented the bike from wanting to roll backwards and wheelie when accelerating. Just load your bodyweight over the front forks and send it! So while I can't see myself riding an all wheel drive bike for road racing any time soon, unless some active control systems are put into place that actively torque vector where the power is or isn't required when cornering etc, I'll give it a pass. But that doesn't mean there isn't a bright future in off road use like trail biking or adventure bikes, where traction from the front could be really handy coming from the front as well as the rear. It will just need a very good ABS and traction control specifically designed for that purpose. I usually ride without any traction control or ABS when I ride dirt. But for this application, I believe it could be what makes the product work, and work well. Hope that offers just a little insight 😀 and if anyone knows more or has any opinions on the matter, feel free to add your experience or ideas to the comments, as is the case with most bike fanatics and daily riders, I could talk bikes all day every day 😜 Cheers for the kind words mate. Have a great day 👍
@burkejohnson4539 the suspension geometry between a scooter and that of a performance boke/motorcycle are not even remotely comparable. They are two vastly different systems for use in entirely different circumstances. Tell me the last time you saw a scooter hitting the apex with a knee on the pavement like Rossi and I'll eat my hat.
Doesn't seem like he was that irresponsible. Have you all not been to Santa Monica? Everyone flys around like this. And it's not busy while he's filming this.
There is no difference in voltage. Both batteries are 48 volt. But there is a difference in amperage though and driving with one will reduce the range. That's it.
@@Fury_BlackWolf You know how batteries work? 48V battery is somewhere between 53V (Full) and 43V (Empty). So if he uses only one then one is at lower voltage and thats bad for combination of 2 batteries. Depends if those two batteries are connected or if they are separate (one for frony, one for rear and no connection between)
Sorry to be so blunt, but this is NOT an ebike. It isn'teven a moped. It is a motorcycle by any state's definition of the term. If you youtube influencers werent so busy encouraging illegal "ebike" riding, maybe we could have a revival of realy cool 70s style 30 mph restricted mopeds, albeit electric, ridden legally with a standard driver's license, registered and insured. Ditch the term "Moped style," restrict them to 30 mph, and just call them what they are: "Mopeds."
Great review!! I'm concerned that their website says nothing about the manufacturer of the battery packs (suspicious, since most reputable ebike manufacturers recognize how important that is to consumers). I don't need generic Chinese battery packs catching fire in my garage, thanks. Fully half of the reviews on their own website were negative, which didn't seem to reflect well on the company. There's just no way that I would risk $3,000.00 on this thing.
@@direwolf3972true i was gonna say the same thing, Ariel Rider X Class is also a great value, mine is litterly 3 years old and runs like it's brand new
I have been watching your reviews in the last month or so. They are good and useful reviews. Thank you. Only one minor critique: public garage ramps do not usually exceed %10-12 max. The garage ramp you are scaling as a common hill denominator in your reviews
I like when you edit out the part you not stopping at stop signs traffic laws applies to e bikes too, ignoring it eventually will catch up to you one day
4 decades ago, I had a Yamaha Road Trail 100cc motorbike that I used to putter around town on. To get my open motorbike license (250+ cc motorbike), I borrowed a friend's RD 350 sports motorbike for a week ... and it was so much fun to ride, so powerful, and accelerated so fast. Had to hang on for dear life when I accelerated hard or I'd somersault off the back of the bike. It was so different to my RT 100. I rode it for a few hours, my confidence grew, I was having a blast, and everyone else seemed to be moving in increasingly slow motion. Was shocked when I looked down at the speedo and found myself going well over 100 mph on a busy city road with a speed limit of less than half that. Immediately slowed the bike down and took it back to the owner - the bike was not for me because I became a speeding maniac when I rode it, I didn't want to kill myself or hurt others. Got my RT 100 back and stayed safe. This guy also needs to take a good, hard look at his riding style - blowing through STOP signs, ignoring road rules - you are going to hurt or kill yourself or others. STOP IT ! Send the eBike back if you cannot control it. There's enough idiots on the road - trucks, cars, motorbikes, eBikes, eScooters, push bikes, eSkateboards, etc - without you adding to the carnage.
Don't forget the second one of going 30+ on a shared path with people walking and running. People like are the reason everyone hates people on bikes and even more so electric bikes.
I really like the way you do reviews. Lots of detail, from assembly to the extended ride. I was wondering if you'll ever do trikes? I am looking at them because of mobility issues but my balance sucks these days, too. I'm 62, disabled and would just feel safer on one. I have looked at a lot of trike reviews but Nobody does them like you. Here's hoping.
I replaced the rear shock with an aftermarket one (150mm/1500 lb spring). It helps with the bottoming out a lot with the stock one, that's for sure: (JFOYH Coil+Oil Shock Absorber Adjustable Damping Hydraulic Rear Shock)
I really enjoyed the commentary on this bike The sky is a really good evaluator I like the way he talked there wasn't a lot of nonsense he told you what you needed to know and he made it interesting I have three e-bikes now I have an aerial rider I have a Hemingway and I forget the other one they're all great bikes but the aerial rider is super fast which is kind of scary I want one of these now but my wife would kill me if I bought another one
Oh man, thats what we need... 38mph dual motor ebikes on the boardwalk that anyone can buy, what can go wrong? I hope riders wear a motorcycle helmet for this one
Ngl I kinda like these bikes. They are still better than cars. But at this point there really needs to be a law limiting these things from driving on sidewalks. This is basically putting pedals and a chain on an electric motorcycle and calling it an e-bike because of that. The fact that you dont need a license for it is concerning too. These loopholes need to be adressed asap.
I don’t it’s a good way to get around BUT you go buy me and I’m on a sidewalk at the speed this guy is goin with my kid your going to have a close line type of a day 😎 Bike gets an 8 guy gets a O
I would love to be able to buy one of these. I just pulled the trigger on the Euy S4 about thirty minutes ago after watching your video about it. That was a big stretch to my budget.
These things are becoming a scourge on the roadways, especially when being operated by juveniles. Riding on the wrong side of the road, running stop signs and red lights. Riding on the sidewalks at high rates of speed, and failing to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
This could be a self-correcting problem. Just make it illegal for parents to sue anyone for the suicide of their Newtonian-physics-ignoring crotchfruit.
I ride something similar as my full transport, messing no car. But I obey all traffic laws and always stay to the right I always wear a helmet. They are extremely viable forms of transportation but when operated by people who drive them like kids they are a danger .And it's upsetting to those of us who use them as transportation and obey all laws. Because we know it's only a matter of time when the amateur riders ruin it for everyone.
If you want to charge faster then buy a charger. You don't even get the fastest charging speed from your phone out of the box unless you have an iPhone lol.
@@Trillville43 you can also just buy a different battery, or motor, or tires, or brakes, or handlebars, or frame… I’m simply commenting on the package offering. Obviously you can upgrade anything if you throw more money at it
The problem with this bike is you can order it straight from China for much less. There are no custom design or original pieces or features. They literally picked it out of a Chinese catalog and doubled the price. And now they aren't even saving you the shipping time because after you order it saying 5 to 8 business days, they email you and tell you it's actually 5 to 8 wèeks, which means they are ordering from China when you order. They are adding zero value at that point.
Do you want little tires or big tires? Do you want a light bike you can lift and put on a rack? I have both 20x4 and 26x4 and far prefer 26x4 for stability at speed and they can roll over obstacles that would swallow the smaller tires. 20x4 is for short people and women in my experience. AWD is inherently more dangerous and you can easily lose it if you turn while accelerating. Wired is a American company with amazing customer service if you have any issues to the extent you care. The moped style bikes are not welcomed on bike paths and sidewalks. Nobody cares when I ride my Wired on bike paths at 20mph. The weight difference between these bikes is huge, the Wired is much lighter.
Interesting idea with the awd. They did on an dirt bike once and it worked pretty damn good actually lol.. Anyway Cool bike. But I would bring the forks up all the way for proper angle and height balance..
I paid $1200 three years ago in the indigogo campaign for Mate bikes. The campaign was a nightmare, but they eventually did deliver a great product. I get up to about 35 mph and the battery lasts a LONG time. Its hard for me to believe that I still cant buy a bike with that kind of power 3 years later for that price. My Mate is heavy, but I can't imagine how much this one weighs with an additional motor and an additional battery.
i 1st built my EBike back in 2003, it was 24V, 12 Mah, Range was 15 miles on Single charge. I made a New Controller chip, a Better Charging unit !! ..& it went 60 mph, 35 miles Range. I was offered big cash for it, Nope I didn't sellt it...still got it lol😂
I'm sure some safety oriented folks watching this are grateful for the heads up (with a video to show their friends too), and are starting the paperwork now to have it banned from sidewalks and paths. 😂 You don't need to test this in high pedestrian traffic or at peak hours of community activity. Oh and you might not want to video yourself riding like that around people or in traffic. (...Exhibit A....)
I see a lot of the same equipment on differently named bikes. They're all made of pretty much the same stuff but in a different shape, color and configuration.....So it comes down to who offers the most features/equipment for the best price. Funny how price isn't mentioned. I bought a foldable with all the features I wanted; dual motors, hydraulic brakes, LG Batt., 1,500 watts (total) and what I consider necessary equipment; fenders, nice seat, lighting, mirrors etc... just under $1,500.00. I'm not out there to race anyone...30 mph is plenty. If I wanted to get there faster I'd buy a SUZUKI GSX-R 1000 K5 TURBO.
I’m completely new to ebikes and what to look for but the question I have about dual motors is: how do the motors synch so that one isn’t pushing against the other or dragging the other?
Most hub motors only push. They don't drag when you let off the throttle, they freewheel. There are a few exceptions and those regenerate when coasting or braking. They do drag the speed down with no throttle input. But there are controllers that will give it just enough power at "idle" to make it feel like a freewheel. You get somewhat better battery life with those because when braking the motor pushes a bit of power back to the battery.
The driver is absolutely NUTS driving that fast with pedestrians. Very careless & thoughtless. Should have gotten a dozen tickets for reckless endangerment of pedestrians.
The biggest hassle for me in Honolulu, HI is that so many manufacturers don't ship to Hawaii. 🤬 The retailers here have very limited options, all overpriced. What to do???
I would like to know how efficient it is in 1 wheel drive over 2 wheel drive. I suspect that in city driving it may split the resistance of the road and power draw across both wheels and may be more efficient in some situations. However, it is probably more efficient in one wheel drive while cruising continuously at certain speeds. But in one wheel operation the motor can also become strained when encountering steep slopes and increased road resistance can put a strain on the single wheel drive and draw more than if the power was split between the 2 wheels.
That's actually about the same speed as an ariel rider 52v single motor single battery but more torque. Maybe it's one or two mph faster, not sure if it's $700 faster. Cool though, I would have considered that if I didn't already have the ariel. Even with just one battery and one motor the ariel can climb ridiculous hills. Mine can't do anything now though, forgot to keep the battery charged over the winter and killed it, she's dead.
Who decided that moped-style e-bikes don't need to have adjustable seats? The peddles may just be to make the bike Class 1/3 legal, but an adjustable seat is common sense to make peddling a possibility.
Heya Matt, was wondering if you could help me out please? My boss and his wife has some E-Bikes and they got us into them so I had bought us both a EUY Electric Bike for Adults, 1000W Motor 48V 25Ah, Very nice bike I might add however when we go riding with my boss and his wife their bikes are at 90% charge when we drop below 50% so we have to turn back. They make it about 17miles on full power before we have to turn around so they are about 35 miles all power as advertised. So I recently sold one of the 2 bikes taking a few hundred dollar loss because I ordered a Ridstar Q20 Pro-2000w&52v 40ah and didnt need 3 bikes.... So I ordered and my bike is coming this weekend however I started reading more post on this bike where people are saying they max out at 30mph and my EUY was hitting 32mph, then I found a guy that wrote he even suspended the bike and it was still backing off as soon as it hit 30mph. Have you checked this bike out at all and do you have any suggestions? I know I shoulda asked before I ordered but didnt think it was going to be a issue when its 52v dual 1000w motor, but now its on the way and I figured if anyone would have any ideas or suggestions it would be you :)
I cannot say for sure, I have seen a lot of people talking about that one. I have not wrote it yet, but I do know many companies follow the law to a T, technically no electric bike can legally go faster than 28 mph. Some of them, do you have free reign over modifying the settings, but sometimes companies will restrict what you can actually get away with. Worst case scenario, I think you could modify the wheel size inside the settings hopefully, and it will make the speedometer read slower, but perhaps you can go faster. Hope this helps.
As both an eBike rider and car driver, trust me they don't replace a car, but they can be better in certain conditions, but you can never beat the creature comforts of a vehicle, music, heat or Aircon, secure place to chill, immune to weather conditions etc, But you should get one, ebikes are awesome.

@horsepastedelish yea that too. Also I know how hard it can be to hold a phone in 1 hand and steer with the other. Almost crashed when trying to see my 1/8 mile time 😂

Sadly, your hopes are in vain. He rides recklessly fast on sidewalks, whilst approaching moms with babies in strollers. Even more dangerously, he bolts along a crowded beach at breakneck speeds, whilst riding right next to sunbathing families ... he could easily ride over a little kid buried in the sand (as kids often do at the beach) ... at the speed he's riding, he wouldn't have time to realize ... then he'd crush the poor little kid to death. If he doesn't learn to change his ways, by prioritizing safety, and "slowing down" near pedestrians ... then tragically, he'll soon kill a little kid.
Must be a generational thing or I'm getting old, but it bothers me seeing someone destroy something for no reason. I don't know why, it's not even mine.
One trend that hurts performance is this 4"wide tires. Wish they were 26" X2.5" for better corning and wat less rolling resistance. Maybe a thinner tire in front but bigger diameter like a dirt bike
only question left unanswered and I think you forgot to mention, how is the distance on this thing? how many miles can it go? how what voltage reading before and after all your rests? You mentioned early in video you would test voltage when you got back to get a sense of how well the batteries last. I found range on website, apparently 44-68 Miles which i assume will depend on various road conditions and how hard you push it.
@@larion2336 oh wow he snuck it in there, i watched like 90% of the brake test segment and stopped as video was ending but looks like he did mention it in last couple seconds of the video within the brake test section, wow. Thanks.
Great if you want a moped style but the Wired is faster with bigger tires and significantly less expensive. Shouldn’t really be called a bike if you can’t really pedal it. Looks like a good alternative to the Ariel Grizzly.
Here in Leeds, UK. We have bike lanes that are tiny, awkward and cut off randomly. The UK needs to badly catch up with everyone else. Trouble is that the council usually takes 10 to 20 years for a 2 year project.
This isn’t bike with extra power (say 250 W) this is electric powered motor bike (e-motorbike), this should change soon in laws because like this we will share cycling paths with such beasts and their irresponsible riders.
This Jerk doesn't have any regard for Laws. Runs stop signs, makes illegal turns, when he does make legal turns he makes them illegal by sweeping from a right lane into a left lane and then back into the right lane. If he is planning on buying insurance, whether life insurance or accident insurance, he better hope that the underwriters don't see this disregard for proper driving/riding or they won't insure him. Also, he did several no-nos when assembling the bike, that could also come back to bite him. One can hope. We need this type of action off the road.
great reviews. I'm a bit shocked at your disregard for road rules / safety... not just your safety but you cut it pretty thin around others. You seem to be oblivious to others. Bit disappointing.
Bit interesting that people still consider lithium batteries being charged when you get the item as a nice extra, they leave the factory fully charged , otherwise they would be ruined so it's not a service, it's a need.
Any chance you are going to review Denago's Fat Tire? Torque Sensor/48V 19.2 AH 921KWh battery, 750W/80 NM Bafang motor for $1799. Seems to compare favorably to Aventure 2/Nomad in most aspects other than color choice. I have a local dealer that I'm considering to buy from.
Thank you for the review - One thing I am hoping you can take back to these cheapo manufacturers - IT'S THE 21ST CENTURY, NO ONE WANTS A STEEL FRAM - MAKE THEM ALUMMINUM PEOPLE.
During a commute, you would be a maniac to floor it the whole way, especially if you ride through dense bicycle and pedestrian traffic. 15-25mph is a great speed and even thats still illegal (25kmh EU+AU+UK). I also don't like AWD due to when dropping off ledges the front motor traction doesnt sit well with me, plus the added weight and consumption of the 2nd motor. Open road riding might be its advantage and living in the US.
Shame they didn't utilize the space under the seat for the battery instead of the controller... Looks like there's a good bit of room since there's not much rear suspension Excursion?
I always wonder, how you get those big heavy boxes thru your elevator and apartment? Does the FedEx guy drop it off at your front door? You give one of the best reviews. Thank you!

Are you allowed to ride these on any roads ?
18 miles is terrible 😩
18+ miles and only used up 1 bar. So if I decided to drain the battery all the way down, I would get over 40+ miles on full throttle PAS 5, that’s going 35 mph all the way.
@@williamkrethput a sticker that says “Class 2 750 watts 20mph” and put it to PAS 2 if you get stopped.

Also, not yielding to pedestrians at one point. He clips it, hoping we don't notice.
"cops are starting to crack down [on ebikes]" he says while weaving through pedestrian traffic at 24mph on a public sidewalk while narrating a video and using his phone.
lets add, an entire empty beach to test the bike, and he goes directly to where everyone is trying to relax.

Everywhere I've lived; bicycles MUST obey traffic laws. Enforcement tends to be lax, though.
I can see younger people without the experience riding against traffic and at the higher speeds than a typical bike that will be a recipe for disaster.
yep blowing thru all stop signs you 200 pound person
Florida just past a law allowing e-bikes and motorized bicycles to role down any path. Sidewalk, trail or roadway. Even if it's sign posted no motorized bikes or e-bikes on this path. Gotta Hand it to Florida. They still believe in freedom.
Love the mini-bike/motorcycle look!
So cool! 38mph is great!
Sur Ron is way faster, and they haven't outlawed that one.
Nice bike but the problem is it's looking too much like a small motorcycle which makes you more likely to get questioned on the streets and sidewalks and bike paths by people and cops. Especially in certain cities
@@charlieredeemedthey're giving tickets out to people riding sur rons in Cali now. Doesn't surprise me in that state.
That's insightful, thanks for sharing
Perhaps you can work out some aspects to have things working a bit smoother that I didn't have the time and money to put into it as I am a full time working father of two and have a business to run l, all while maintaining my motorcycle riding addiction 😜
I must admit that when I was off-road and down the trails, AWD came in handy on occasion, and particularly once I had installed a microcontroller that allowed me to change the power distribution on the fly, so I could change the bias to mostly front, so 70% front and 30% rear etc.
Hope that offers just a little insight 😀 and if anyone knows more or has any opinions on the matter, feel free to add your experience or ideas to the comments, as is the case with most bike fanatics and daily riders, I could talk bikes all day every day 😜
Cheers for the kind words mate. Have a great day 👍
interesting, every performance electric scooter has awd but they dont suffer from the same issues...

You should never turn one battery off, it will still move the same but the voltage difference between the two can really create damage in the cells.
Depends if those two batteries are connected or if they are separate (one for frony, one for rear and no connection between)
@@cyjanek7818 Yes I'm aware of that but thought that the bike would be designed to be able to run on one battery since they're parallel connected.
They're in parallel, the voltage difference doesn't matter. If this bike is half as well designed there'll be diodes to stop backfeeding too..

Sorry to be so blunt, but this is NOT an ebike. It isn'teven a moped. It is a motorcycle by any state's definition of the term.

That rattle with bumpy terrain makes me wonder if the batteries are being abused, which might post a fire risk when off-roading.
Pretty sure the rattles are due to the crappy shock absorbers bottoming and topping out harshly.
Do you need a driver's license? Helmet required?
I would love to get my hands on one of these but I would definitely be a danger to myself and others❤
The biggest hassle for me in Honolulu, HI is that so many manufacturers don't ship to Hawaii. 🤬 The retailers here have very limited options, all overpriced. What to do???
There's probably a mail forwarding service you can use. You ship it to a company then they ship it over to you for a fee.
No way this is worth $800 more than the "WIRED" when both top out @ the 38MPH speed.
Great review that bike has a lot going for it!! I know not needed but why not do 52v and better chargers to get closer to perfect lol

Hope this helps.
stumbled across ur video man these ebikes look crazy fun as eff and ridiculously functional. why own a car?? ya i think I may get one eventually.
As both an eBike rider and car driver, trust me they don't replace a car, but they can be better in certain conditions, but you can never beat the creature comforts of a vehicle, music, heat or Aircon, secure place to chill, immune to weather conditions etc, But you should get one, ebikes are awesome.
How would you compare to a Super 73 Rx ?
Asks couple "what happened" Answer "a murder" Follow up "really, that never happens out here" Old dude replies "Yes it does and nods his head"... we get a review and a true crime vid all in one! Well done!
"Never happens out here." I was wondering how long this guy has lived in L.A. Five minutes?!
@@notsoanonymous2458the murder rate in LA is way below the national average in the specific area is probably even lower then the LA average.
@@Pinko-Diamond Is that supposed to mean something significant in light of the topic? Surely you aren't trying to make the point that because there are more murders in other places that murder in L.A. is uncommon. Because that would be foolish.
I have to say u drive like a maniac on that thing. I want one now
AWD is just awesome !🚴♀
AWD is amazing. I just converted my old MTB and it is incredible, goes anywhere.
Dual motor KT controller Ebike T-06SS
LCD HUD LCD11 SM plug
Throttle WUXING 300X Thumb Throttle
Front Motor AKM-75SX 36V250W
Rear Motor AKM-100CST 36V250W
Not as fast as this vids more powerful set up but it's a sweet eMTB build for actual trails. Bike only weighs ~20kg. Converting an older dual suspension MTB is a really neat way to go. If you can build a computer you can build an ebike.
It's a lot better now it's got the Deul motor setup. I would get better rear suspension and maybe change the front forks, then u, have a pretty good bike.
you should to pick up a phone mount so you dont lose control and hurt urself when doing those speed tests lol
Also, viewers can see the real life speed
@horsepastedelish yea that too. Also I know how hard it can be to hold a phone in 1 hand and steer with the other. Almost crashed when trying to see my 1/8 mile time 😂
Do you need a special license for these things? Been looking at the Ristretto but the Freego has a beautiful look as well
its an electric motorcycle, requiring drivers licence, insurance and motorcycle helmet.
It's definitely a class 4.
Yeah, let's be honest this is not an ebike. It's a cheaply made chinese scooter. Crash at 30+ mph will mess you up badly.
16:12 I wonder if you can get the USB cord to reprogram it from PC / Laptop / Smartphone or even through Bluetooth. Re-Balance it, do a 60-40 split (instead of 50/50) 10% off the front and 10% more to the back...?
I like what you're thinking
lets hope this guy learns his lesson without ending up in a wheelchair. or anyone else for that matter..
How many watts can you run before you have to register your bike as a motorcycle
In texas it's like 900 watts
Thumbs down. You rode right through all those stop signs without stopping.
I have a Freego F3 AWD MAX - Series 2 NEW IN THE BOX still at the warehouse In Ca. I believe not too far away from you, the new Max is Black with larger brakes and bigger battery and some other updates. Bike is said to be an animal as you can assume. This is the first of this model in the USA. Let me know if interested. Thanks
Yes, please email me at TailHappyTVcontact@gmail.com
That’s not a bike. And I hope you’re not going 38 mph on bike paths.
Good review
Waiting on a trike
No interchangeable batteries? What could they be thinking .
Maybe Milwaukee will make something
Thank you exactly the information I needed to help me decide to make this my next big buy.
Must be a generational thing or I'm getting old, but it bothers me seeing someone destroy something for no reason. I don't know why, it's not even mine.
One trend that hurts performance is this 4"wide tires. Wish they were 26" X2.5" for better corning and wat less rolling resistance. Maybe a thinner tire in front but bigger diameter like a dirt bike
but the 4" tires eat anything you throw at them, worth the performance tradeoff if you go offroad.
Dang man. Just blasting right through those stop signs and red lights.
only question left unanswered and I think you forgot to mention, how is the distance on this thing? how many miles can it go? how what voltage reading before and after all your rests? You mentioned early in video you would test voltage when you got back to get a sense of how well the batteries last. I found range on website, apparently 44-68 Miles which i assume will depend on various road conditions and how hard you push it.
He literally talked about it and tested the batteries at the end of the video.
@@larion2336 oh wow he snuck it in there, i watched like 90% of the brake test segment and stopped as video was ending but looks like he did mention it in last couple seconds of the video within the brake test section, wow. Thanks.
@@zengrath fair enough. yw
Just realized your description answers some questions ty, I’ll help ya out when I get one, once I figure out what one to get anyways 😅
Always fun and light watching your awesome reviews
This Jerk doesn't have any regard for Laws. Runs stop signs, makes illegal turns, when he does make legal turns he makes them illegal by sweeping from a right lane into a left lane and then back into the right lane. If he is planning on buying insurance, whether life insurance or accident insurance, he better hope that the underwriters don't see this disregard for proper driving/riding or they won't insure him.
Also, he did several no-nos when assembling the bike, that could also come back to bite him. One can hope. We need this type of action off the road.
Your suppose to air your tires down going over sand and gravel
Good to know that cruising through stop-signs is a good practise.
great reviews.
Nice quality review! Enjoy watching your videos!
The smashing of the free helmet made me laugh and then subscribe, thanks for that.
Thank you!
Now show me cool weather testing and different terrains including snow and ice. Then I’m sold for 4 season use. Lots of e-bikes here I see been driven in winter weather
The way he bounces on that seat.
In your opinion which one would you prefer, the x-trail pro or this freego?
Great review...so glad I don't live near where you drive!
Nice mark ya left there on the floor. Hope that wasn't too annoying to remove.
