The amount of legends on stage at the same time is crazy
You Said It Right
Imagine having tickets for this show. They don't make 'em like this no more.
It's been 34 years and THIS IS STILL THE GREATEST BLUES SHOW OF ALL TIME.
Still an All Time Great
I'LL SAY IT AGAIN,DIS HAD TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST NIGHTS EVER.
You got that right bro!!
Just stumbled onto this video, I can't wait is an understatement!! 🍻🍻
Omg I agree where's Buddy still o-some
Amen!
Yes!!!
To the 172 dislikes, u don't know what great music is! This was and still is, killer music, they just don't make it like this anymore!
Added note: this is an all star line up
29 mins - now I'm getting upset. Stevie Albert and Paul Butterfield singing the Sky Is Crying... it gets you right where it hurts. It's 1.42 in the am here and work in the morning but it can wait. I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead. Right now I'm pouring me a drink and listening to the best Blues players this world has ever witnessed. It's a joy people.
This is the best thing that ever happened to humanity.
The Best I’ve had
Im a 20 years, my dad is a professional blues musician, I play the blues as a drummer, guitarist and a singer, whenever I’m down or feeling the blues, I sit and watch this video, to remind myself that gods do exist, and the gods are every person in this video... what I would give to go back and be at this gig,
A ridiculous amount of talent on one stage. Makes the hair on my arms stand up.
RIP Stevie, Paul, Albert, & Etta.
BB RIP too.
Rip Paul, Stevie, Albert, Etta, B.B and Dr John.
❤042024😊
I was a lil girl but I remember watching this wth my mom... Phil Collins back there playing the drums this was a star-studded event....The best this reminds me of being home with my mom so much!!!! Awwww this just bring back so many memories BB King , Eric Clapton

Everyone stay and be blessed !!!! 😘
God I wish SRV was still around man
Best version of "i'd rather go blind"
This must have been a dream come true for Stevie, to earn the respect of the biggest blues giants of all time and be able to play with both of them at the same time. This was a big time in blues, maybe the biggest.
Much respect to Gladys and Chaka, but nobody was realer than Miss Etta James
Incredible musicians... incredible togetherness. The band, the camera people... everyone who put this concert together.
I had forgotten just what an excellent vocal artist Billy O was - this show was very well Directed/Produced - and all such gifts to us.
Thank you!
RIP BB KING, ALBERT KING, ETTA JAMES, STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, PAUL BUTTERFIELD.
This was a magic moment in R&B history, caught for later generations to appreciate . Some of these performers will never be back, but this recording allows my grand kids to hear the real deal.
Here is the best thing about bb king. He only wanted to share the stage for the betterment of his craft. The man surely kept the blues alive
Paul Butterfield's solos are just amazing
I remember my father playing this VHS for the entire family back in 1987 and to this day it still HITs like TYSON!!! Everyone in it are massive legends and no egos. Wow!!
We went from 1987 and we all got along to what we have now....simply sad...
was there ever a more generous entertainer than BB King
Being a Blues fan, I was thrilled when this program was first broadcast. It obviously was a Blues lover's dream come true. And it sounds just as great to my ears today as it did back then.
Damn.....!
Don't know how I missed this for all those years ?
Guess I had to pay my Dues !
One surprise after another !
Mighty Fine !
✌️😎
THIS IS TOTALLY PRICELESS, I'M LOVING IT
This is not even my generation BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZZZZZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how I imagine heaven... BB, Stevie, Albert, Eric... all my influences and masters together
Wise thought -
*Only the body expires, the Soul energy continues,* and shifts back to where NonPhysical resides and they continue to live.
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed (Quantum Physics) *Energy is Eternal*
...all of these Greats that have shifted to where NonPhysical calls home, are in this Universe.
...and they can observe us in Physical.
If only we didn't suffer "memory pause" when we incarnate.
Research NonPhysical like the Physical is understood. There's a bunch more NonPhysical energies than Physical, and I imagine that would include all Dimensions and Parrell Universes.
There's so much we have yet to realize.
But know you are Worthy and you are Loved.
Focus on the DESIRED, the Positive, Harmony...
*Thought, energy, vibration, Frequency ... that which Creates Universes, creates your own reality.*
See "the Universal Law of *Attraction" (the Mustard Seed)*
Amen! God's choir is gonna be the most amazing! I can't wait to experience it when I get there!
I wish SRV had a bigger solo with Clapton & BB
Etta and Doctor John... BB and Clapton... Gladys Knight... SRV... Albert King... those horns... that electric piano... PERFECTION.
Dr John of course on the harp...
This is a dream concert that only BB could have pulled together because people love and respected him so. Also, SRV is the cutest thing on that stage!!!
You can't keep me from playing this every day. It's the most emotionally alive I've ever seen these musicians being!
Sorry, but i can only Cry, hearing this music... it's making me so happy....
man, sitting here with goes bumps watching Etta and DR John. Outstanding!
Etta James was a special person. God keep her well as she sings with the angels.
This was Billion dollar talent no one can dispute this quality of entertainment the blues world is here and will never e er be again. the sky is crying but the Angels are happy may they rest in peace they made us happy on earth.12/2/16
So many of my hero’s all on one stage, hard not to shed a tear watching this. Thank you for the upload!
🤔Paul Butterfield had BB King call me this night, as I was a fan most of my life, great memory.miss you Paul💕
October, 2022... in the train from Zurich to Frankfurt, worrying news from everywhere and suddenly remembered this great concert of Blues music.. and the life turns beautiful.. many of them are not with us anymore, hopefully Eric C., Billy, Phil, Gladys and chaka are doing well today 💪
The amount of talent on the stage is off the charts. I remember buying this VHS at a record store in the late 80s, and could not stop watching it. A master class by master musicians, who know how to play together while not trying to top each other. This was a one night show that I could have watched forever.
I FEEL the BLUES. 😀
I would sell my soul to be there 🤣🤣🤣
As close to heaven as it gets ❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a slash of velvet in the voice of Gladys Knight! Wow!
Gladys taking them to chuurch!!!
My only wish is to give this 2 thumbs up.
CAN FEEL THIS DEEP IN MY SOUL!!!.....whaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy♥
sabrina ponnet soulshaker!👍🙋
Awesome
RIP BB King. Great man.
This is Blues Heavan.! Sign me up.
Wow, too much class and talent in one place. And Gladys Knight...awesome And beautiful.
What a POWER team of Blues!!!!
back in 1991 i had just moved into my first flat share, quite often on a Saturday night, or any other night come to think of it, id come home in the early hours of the morning after a couple of small sherries and put this video on, much to the annoyance if my flatmates and neighbours....good times
Thank you so so much for posting this!!!
What can you say.....? Pure tallent.
Came here cause I am SRV to my core, and wasn't disappointed of course. But am sitting here drenched in tears of ecstasy due to the UNBELIEVABLE voice of Gladys Knight!
THE BLUES. Nothing but THE BLUES ! 🎸👍✌️❤️
Gladys Knight - beautiful in every possible way, what a sweet, sweet voice. Clapton and B.B. King duelling - harmony, right there, my favourite spine tingle of all time.
+Kevin I never knew exactly how a good she was until I saw this for the first time. Now when she comes out, goose bumps, every time.
I am a Gladys fan. I have always known how good she was and is. This shows the quality of singing of the older singers versus the newer ones. Etta is no longer with us and she had a voice on her.
I only wish I had been there myself.... What an evening - I am filled with jealousy!!!
B B is awesome everybody love him
Chaka was higher than the price of gasoline and STILL showed out. That's a gift from the heavens...
I love GOOD music, but this is GREAT music!
Etta james is an amazing singer. I love her
All the good stuff happened back in the days!
Two Kings and their Court. Fabulous in every sense.
Can't find anything in this world I'd rather be doing than enjoying this REAL music. Wished I could have been there back in the day!!! Sure miss Etta James' presence on this planet...So glad the rest are with us. What a pack of stars!!!!
If you had the Privilege to have attended this show You wouldn’t have to go to any other 🎶🎵🎼🎼🎵🎶🎸
If this doesn't get you Rockin....Nothing will
Chaka Khan steals my heart right around 46:20 OMG!
Never again. It's impossible.
But in our heart, yes.
Luc we will remember that it happened when 99% have forgotten it.
God how I wish I could of been there.... Love You Stevie Ray !
2020.....and this is still one of the most masterful gatherings I've ever seen and heard. If I go more than a couple of weeks without returning to this, my soul feels empty.
Yeah this is amazing to say the least. I used to have the DVD and I gave it to my mom because it brings her so much joy. I'm glad to see it's on UA-cam so I can still enjoy it too!
2021 too 👍🙏❤
Probably the greatest feel good videos ever.
This is MUSIC HISTORY 101: Legends Of the Ages. Thank God For TV! Love You BB, Etta, Gladys, Clapton and EVERYONE on that Stag!
NOTE: ETTA and BB are so Great because they have MEGA Voices. Like back in the Vaudeville era, before the age of Microphones. They Have Singing Voices that cut s through ALL other voices and noises.
Oh Gladys .... so very peefection! Etta, the Heart of the energy and Respected Leader of Women of Blues in the era. Chaka, the voice supreme, strength of soul.
Eric Clapton the most powerful blues energy reach.
That trading fours/conversation BB and EC have at the end of "Thrill is Gone" is just priceless!
A lot of love, respect and talent between those two.
Love you Gladys. So talented and beautiful❤️
love you always chaka
I love Gladys and she did that part at the end of Send me Somebody To Love.
Can t keep my eyes dry between 18:46 - 25:15. What a people...what souls
Yep she was. At least I want to think it was tears, not sweat :D
Ariana Zburlea if you look close its sweat
Ariana Zburlea me either. My mom was a HUGE B.B. king and Etta James Fan, and she had this on VHS. She watched this everyday...Makes me wanna cry, because you don’t appreciate these songs as a kid, but once you lived through it...It’s so real. Makes it real since my mom is gone...RIP to them all
@@paisleyprincess7996 sincerest love from my heart to you. I hear your pain that your mom is gone. I am, however, thrilled that you had a woman such as this to bring you up. And I can just see her in my mind's eye returning to this tape over and over again to have her spirit fed.
All the best to you as we begin another trip around the home star.
It's been years since I've seen this. Arguably on of the greatest blues ensembles ever together. I'm also saddened by how many of them are no longer with us. Three of the four guitar players are gone. Paul Butterfield passed less than three weeks after this show was taped. We lost Etta James four years ago. There'll never be another gathering of greats like this one.
Nick Kinler They're jamming in Heaven
I was getting ready to say the same thing. U took the words out of my mouth. Still listening in 2018.
By this time Butterfield was getting by on fumes. May he rest in peace.
without them the music will never be the same
What an unbelievable ensemble, you don`t get much better than this!!
Lillian Thomas Awesome show!
Amen
BB King and Albert King sharing a stage, that alone is awesome.
And SRV!
Jedi Grandmasters of the Blues
Lord, bless my marriage and strengthen the bond between us. Help us to communicate with love and respect, to support each other through all circumstances, and to grow together in Your grace.
you can't even buy this anymore that I know of..it's rare and a collectors item..thanks and quality is super..nice job!!!
Amazon.
This is the the best thing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Just incredible. God rest your soul, Mr BB King.
R.I.P Etta James and B.B King ❤️
Amen and amen!
Wow😊😊😊
And doc he passed away too by now
rip albert king and stevie ray vaughan
It´s like watching an early Motorhead video. All those guys are gone now. I am a fan of metal but I LOVE the Blues and always will.
Man, B.B. King was a showman if there ever was one!
He learned all the skills. That man was a consummate professional.
rest in peace BB King!!
Etta James was killing it!!!
I really love the sound Chaka Khan's voice it is so rich
She was awful
@@charliewise1971 you’re jealous
@@charliewise1971
You're mad because she can and did sing the pants off your favorite singer.
Nobody can deny Chaka Khan's Talent, it speaks for itself, however she was higher than a jet that night.
Chaka was lit but still delivered
B B King and Gladys Knight - Fantastic !
Most underrated quality of a blues master? Knowing when to lay back.
Well It's All There You Just Have To Listen. Nothing Better INNIT SMILE!!!
You Gooooo ETTA JAMES!
Like... you KNOW she's singing for real if BB King will step back and just *disappear* throughout the song... LOL
Hi Uffe! BB knows a great singer when he hears her! Bravo....
I just love this, thank you for posting it!
I Love You Etta James, Beautiful soul..
My Opinion is C
He surely shared the stage and the accolades with so many who appreciated him as the best glues musician ever.....he made the best role model for music ever to be with us for a short time
OH MY OH MY OH MY.....SO GREATFUL TO BE ABLE TO SEE THIS...
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Watched it to the end and started it again straight away. Love, Love, Love this.
After dozens of views, I still have the same reaction to listening to these fantastic artists: I smile with tears in my eyes.
Thank you for this intense moment.
This is one of the best blues DVD I have had in a long time. Love this musical program we will never get it again in life those were the days !!😍😘👍👍👏👏👏👏
