This happened like..a couple of years ago? It was a pretty weird situation but yeah I was kicked out of the project for being a good voice actor

While I can sort of see the manager's perspective on the situation, they handled it completely wrong at every turn--

Every time I see a project with a lot of auditions I just get too scared to submit smt and say "yeah I'm not getting a role" lmao.
I knnoowww I was the same! It took me a while to just gather the courage but once I did, I had better chances at getting good roles 🫡

I'm sorry that happened to you! I can "understand" where the manager of that project was coming from, but the way she handled it was really unprofessional and immature. When it comes to working in group projects, there has to be communication. Not just sudden silence. Since you were a part of that group, it would've been alright to let you know that you weren't qualified anymore and needed someone else. Hope you don't experience any more of these situations anymore and that you have an amazing time voice acting for others!
You know? I both understand the manager’s logic and completely disagree with that manager’s method.
It’s true that the discrepancy in quality would be distracting and they clearly planned things to be a certain way….
But the way they handled kicking someone was completely out of line and super unprofessional.

That is crazy😭 Instead of kicking you out they could've just told you privately and this is so out of topic but I started voice acting cause I can do many different voices, Including a few voices from aphmau but anyways You are good at voice acting most people even say you sound like Laurance!
I feel so sorry for you on how they treated you from what I heard from this video they sound like jerks. They should just get a better life. I hate people like them they just so distrusting and wanting to do things their own way while being so stupid and complete jerks. I hope you can get a really cool part in a future role-play.

When i was younger i wanted to be voice actor as suportive character in lgbtq anime or games i always admired voice actors and its nice to know there are lot of voice actors with passion

I feel like I’m in another lecture 😅
Context: during calls with Write it Out I would feel bad when I picked other people that was ok, but then hear a person I REALLY liked to be put in that role. And he would tell me that-
“It’s your project and the Voice Actor that you picked before can’t get mad if you found someone better. And if they do, then tough luck.”
It made me realize that sometimes better things come and that I needed to be a bit patient when choosing my voice actors unless I found an ultimate spot on voice that I wouldn’t trade. And it honestly made me feel like a better director for my next project.
Sucks that happened though. That was a stupid move on the directors part honestly.
Dang, thats both amazing and very sad. Awsome skills, that ended up being too good you werent allowed in. But it’s really cool, because that means that im totally looking at the right person for voice acting tips (i mean if you’re that good you get kicked out, it must be serious talent)!! I may have not been inspired by you to voice act, but when i did discover this channel and learned about the awsome videos you make, including voice acting tips, i knew i was in the right place.
But also, if you’re too good for the non-paid roles, go for the cash! If you can make a big impact on the story just with your voice and expression, the money is totally worth it!

As for getting booted from a project without warning, I actually had a similar experience, but not as a voice actor, as a writer. I gave the "head storywriter" tips and tricks (as well as plot and character ideas) to help the overall flow of the story, and then one day they deleted the server lol. No heads up or anything, and it was pretty tough to handle--because I had been pretty involved with the characters and story from nearly the beginning, it sucked that nothing actually came out of it, and I didn't get a warning. Then like 5 months later they DM me and want to start up a new project with me. Lol nahhh 😂

I've been voice acting for like 6 years and 8 times out of 10, the project will MAGICALLY disappear! And all that hard work will be gone
I experienced the same situation but not as a voice actor, lol. And sorry about what happened, I’m sure you’ll find other better project with better manager.

I'm a va and have been for a few years (only gettings small roles and no paid ones as I'm still a minor) and the best advice I can give is to audition for ALL roles, all kinds of roles, audition for all the characters you can on a project on all kinds of projects, big or small because that's how I improves and I think I've gotten pretty good just by doing as many auditions as I can. I'm sure almost all of the auditions I've done, people have thought 'what the heck is she doing??' but I was doing it to improve, though there were some roles I've auditions to both try and get cast for and improve. That being said, most of the things I've auditioned for get cancelled or never cast people, (at least on CCC)
Basically when you're starting out, audition to get better not to get roles, and if you get cast, bonus points to you!
Also I agree that what they did was scummy, at the very least they could have explained it to you instead of just kicking you out
