My best childhood memories are playing sports, lunchtime in the cafeteria, sleepovers, and being with my friends. All of these parents are robbing their children of these wonderful experiences. This is so well done and I think that's because so many details are meaningful and sentimental to the family. I think this is a little small for growing kids but I hope they enjoy it for as long as possible. That top bunk is so short! It seems to be pushing it even for now and may be the thing that puts the brakes on this arrangement. At that point maybe you can add an awning and a zip on type of enclosure that connects to it that surrounds the van door. This would create some living space outside the van.

The canvas was sewn around the poles and double-stitched so secure, and wide enough to give some sag.
