Hey Colonel, thanks for covering our mods, I'm really glad that you like them!! Snotwasabi, creator of the Blessed Bretonnia mod, inspired me to get into mod making back in the Warhammer 2 days! I was really excited that he wanted my mod to be a required component to his, and I really like his changes. I am a really big fan of your videos and it is a little surreal having you cover the content from my Overhaul. -Lily
Thank you for making my favorite faction to play what it is! Without the contribution of you and Snotwasabi I would have never been able to become a true Tier 3 Simp for Ze Lady!
@LilyZayli great mod, I know on the mods page it says it is not save game compatible, but is there a way to save it so I can come back to it, cant sit through and play a whole campaign in one sitting.
@@omarsamra2 Yes you can save the game and come back to it. If you do use the mod, save the game, remove the mod and try to continue it will cause a crash, but thats true for every mod that also adds buildings and/or units.
@@The_Last_OldOne what are you on about? Literally so many other games and gamers use mods. All of the Bethesda games, mount and blade warband and bannerlord. Minecraft, crusader kings, stellaris. I’m not going to keep naming games. But yes many games have mods that improve the base game. Warhammer 3 is no different. Maybe don’t be so narrow minded and give mods a go.
@@Cameron-up3vpI did, and it's awesome, but I didn't like looking up mods, that could crash the game if I download mods that aren't meant to use mods and so on. I waste a lot of time getting an experience that should be base game.
It is only through the grace of the Lady Lily that Bretonnia has been fun these last years. This mod is a masterpiece - added to The Old World Mod and you can LARP being a knight as you quest for justice and a united Land.
Overall, this is a very solid "But what if Bretonnia was a WH2 faction, not a legacy WH1 faction?" upgrade. Doesn't quite have the flair of WH3 factional power creep, but you don't feel like you have been stuck in time six years ago. There are also some mods that slot into this fairly seamlessly, like Man-at-Arms sergeant hero, or Friar hero. Sadly, doesn't work well with Herrimault faction mod, is messes up horde buildings. On more specific note, - Montfort's steel upgrades are pretty good, especially on royal peasants units. 70% missile block, +Armor piercing damage on archers, etc... You can build a very mean peasant army with him, and it'll cost fairly little.
I think bretonnia is still absurdly op just like WoC just for the fact they have no supply lines you can simply have a lord accompanied by 2/3 other lords that punch waaay above their paygrade and their factionwide +3 armor building that makes their knights almost immune to non-ap damage, you just have to get the t2 cav building asap and you are good to go, as now you can recruit knights of the realm np.
Loun Leoncour is still THE most op mfing base lord in vanilla, hands down. Prove me wrong. Seriously though, what's that mfer get, like, 95% ward save? How is it even POSSIBLE he's as strong as he is.
Lorewise, all Grail Knights get to drink from the Lady's Cup. Louen, however, is the ONLY one she's ever actually KISSED. So. . .yeah. The Lady likes him quite a bit.
50 upkeep reduction has changed my warhammer playthrus. It made my norsca campaigns an absolute blast. This mod basically just puts you on par with the a.i. it even allows me to play bretonnia without draining my income when building a new army
Does it make things actually more difficult? I haven't touched Helves in awhile, but it makes confederations happen very late in the game, whereas a lot of the bonuses that are supposed to compensate are all somewhat unimpressive? It looks very awesome, but I have been wondering about mechanical side of it all.
@prosski7949 I like the bonuses, and the usurping actions over seats can make for some very dynamic political gameplay. Just waiting on a rework lol, I like it more than the Tower of Hashut mechanic it is based on.
Wanna talk about a no-brainer? Bretonnia in the lore has a Robin Hood like character, leader of a peasant uprising. This mod adds all these new factions that seem all the same, and new units that are all better versions of the standard Bret infantry, when they couldve added a Robin Hood faction that put a real spin into the chivalry mechanic (because they consider different things to be honorable), are opposed to the rest of the dukedoms because they oppress the peasants, and had something Bretonnia actually lacks, stalking skirmish infantry (the Herrimaults) and ranged heroes (Faceless Men) That shouldve been a no brainer
with these faction adding or modifying mods (like Araby, this one overhailing Bretonnia etc) do people leave them on even when not using the faction? Do they mesh well with the overall map when the AI is using them or do they skew the overall dynamic significantly?
The only thing i hate about this mod is that repanse cant use any knight so what is the point to play with her? So i decide to enable via rpfm, now i'm having a blast.
Im gonna be so real. I love the style of economy brettonia goes for, and I hate the trend of oversimplification of building trees we’ve been seeing. While I would like the industry tree to be buffed to better allow for a militaristic playstyle (farms for pure eco if you plan to stay within peasant limit, or industry to support more armies over the limit, at the cost of not having an insanely powerful eco, just an alright one.) the two building system is what, in my opinion, balances brettonia’s economy, and has you putting more thought into your eco beyond just “build this in every settlement.” Truth be told, i don’t think they even need a grand rework with most to any of their systems, maybe beyond the green knight. Just some qol updates or buffs on vows, and add some handful of units and they’re fine. But dont overhaul the eco or the peasant cap ir the vows in a way that simplifies them, please!
The sad thing is, when I watch videos like this, you can see just how much better WH3 could be. Even if CA paid the modders X amount of money and then resold it to me as part of the base game as an add on I would pay for this stuff. Or if they did an official GW release with an unofficial GW release, pretty sure I know which would sell more.
I don't get why CA just not.... Well pick a mod a month and make it base game. Think about it it would save so much money if they only have to add voice acting and maybe minimal polishing
Great review, but when you do the unit breakdown you REALLY need to show the upkeep cost of the units. Sure 1 unit might be slightly better in combat than the vanilla equivalent, but how much more does it cost? Since upkeep changes based on difficulty, just pick one you think works best for your audience.

Thanks for making the mods! Really enjoying experimenting more with them and it's always fun taking a faction you don't like and making them better :)
