I got quite sick while making this video - sorry if my voice sounds different/shitty at some parts of the video lol. Also, I would have loved to add/change a few things, but I agreed upon a deadline before I got sick and had to stick to it.

Honestly agree with the final thought of the video about the units, feel like an important part of what makes games with limited units is seeing the buffs built around those units and you just didnt really get to see that this video
The randomized lord and location is pretty fun to see how you try to work around it though (also just seeing you learn/relearn a lord).
I completely agree. I might even split the wheel into challenges. "Archer only" "cavalry only" "magic only" with whatever I think it's possible to do with the faction while keeping things as interesting as possible.

I've seen Warriors of Chaos factions do that with the randomiser mod - I think they need their dark fortresses to let them do their warband recruitment, so when they get put out will-nilly into the world they struggle to raise anything more than a bunch of lords without armies.
Kind of like wood elves, having random start locations hits them particularly hard, as they don't do settlements well outside of their pre-scripted economy zones!

Starting off on Ulthuan as Kislev. What an amazing randomizer. And 2:11, the most important question in any campaign. Players are still trying to answer that to this day.

As someone who plays Dwarfs a lot, I feel that hatred of Warp lightning. Single-handedly wrecks my beautiful tight knight dwarf formations

lately i have been doing randomizer starting location runs too, got lucky with volkmar and got the book of nagash with cooldowns right next to me so that was a fun and bloody fight, best part, i started next to reiksland, so now my job is to reclaim it all, even if my neighbors are nice people, and then get books

One good thing in this type of run where you narrow down your choices is, well, putting a spotlight on a unit you might've underestimated before. Armored Kossars with Great Weapons are pretty neat, even if they are statistically worse than the shielded ones.
Definitely! With a few buffs, they can beat most tier 3 infantry in the game, even if they don't get the chance to shoot them first.

Scenario idea: Start a game where each individual race has a military alliance with itself and at the same time a war with every other race which also have alliances with each other. I recommend it, it's very funny -AI bigger empires are created faster. So it's like Total war from the first turn, but you still have allies.
Fun vid really enjoyed randomized campaigns and your editing is enjoyable to watch. Also didnt expect the Unicorn Overlord sponsor lol been really looking foward to that game
for the next challenge you should also make the rule that one of the 5 rnd units must be a tier 1 unit, otherwise you might get stuck with your starting units only for like 20+ turns if you roll really badly.and one lost fight might loose you the challenge.

Out of all the factions in the game to have 3 random units with, Kislev is the least interesting lol. For some reason the random selection does seem to favor the lord on the top left though - I'm not sure why.

Malakai Makaison is a geat slayer engineeer who was cast out for thinking out of normal and he killed some dwarfs with some of his desiegns which is why hes a slayer
Too bad you can’t make recruitments in general completely random. Both a faction specific random recruitment challenge could be fun. Then find a way for complete random recruitment across all factions. Grimgor leadinging Empire knights, Chaos Dwarfs, Norscan Wyverns, and Elves would be hilarious

The 3 random units should have been among the starting army units, not the whole roster.

yeah 5 seems like a better number for random units. Fun challenge, very hard and frustrating at times, but it looks fun!

All those solo lords got me thinking. Lords of the ring challenge. High elf lord that starts on the ring, and the method of fighting is lots of lords and no normal units. Sounds slightly tedious and funny. If you want you could also bring heroes.

I've been noticing that the gate bug and wall pathfinding have been particularly atrocious lately. I generally enjoy siege battles, but it's really frustrating when half a unit gets stuck on the other side of a gate and the fact that using ladders just ruins pathfinding is really annoying. Battles that should have been an easy W ended up losing me half my army because of bugs.

I have a unique idea for a challange.
Get the Short Victory with Teclis, without attacking enemy cities.
You are allowed to take over Ruins where you dont have to fight anyone (so not Skaven infested Ruins)
And you can take over the 2 Cities in your Starting provinc normalie.
After that its time for politics.
You can defend your Citys, attack armies outside of cities, that doesnt get reinforced by a city, assist in defending your allies citys and interact with enemy cities with Heros.
I think that would be alot of fun and allowes for more insight in the political Site of the game, then just the Battlefield and Doomstacking.

I swear kislev's auto resolve is so fcking busted. Armored Kossars in particular punch so far above their weight class both in battles and autoresolve.
Also I do agree with the AI leadership cheats being the most annoying stat modifier. Like bro why are these marauders fighting to the death while my guys route at 80% hp.
PS: Blizzard is so fcking strong and I love it.
What mods did you use and could have used? It looks like a fun and chaotic way to play and I'd like to do a run myself

I think it may be interesting to have a 3 units challenge but you can use your ally's units from outposts. Army composition would be a total mess.

I got a challange idea. How about zombie apocalypse but with vampire coast. Zombie pirates is way cooler than peasant zombie who not die cause nerd cast funny. And lets give salstspite some love she needs, but thats more of my personal preference.

can you beat Total War Warhammer 3 using only skeleton Warriors skeleton spearmen and skeleton archers as the tomb Kings if you're having any trouble as in not being able to control enough armies to counterweight the lack of strong units I suggest the use of a singular mod. (dansmeah unlimited tomb king armies). that is the mod you should use if you need it :))))

The only difficulty would be recruitment - unless that unit is weaker than I remember. The problem with challenges that require tier 4+ units is that I'm forced to rely on cheesing battles with my lord and garrisons for the first 20+ turns which isn't really fun or interesting imo. I might sort out some custom mods to make challenges like that more interesting in the future, though. Maybe something that replaces my starting army with ~5 units that I need to keep alive until I build up recruitment
