Out of all of the videos I have watched talking about profiling this is hands down the best one that I have seen at explaining what it does other than hey here are these zones we are creating. Much appreciated!
the other big benefit of skate profiling is that due to the fact there is more blade contact with the ice you can go shallower ROH having the same grip. that will allow you to skate faster with less effort
As a rec.player bought new skates last year from major skate manufacturer, had them sharpened and felt something was not right.. Took them to a pro blade guy he checked them and told me they were totally messed up from the factory. Had them profiled and resharpened from 1/2 radius to 5/8 radius...way better. Getting a proper profile should always be done. Just find someone who knows what they're doing. Great video.
Growing up, in the 70's and 80's we always had our skates Rockered (today it's call profiling). Having skates profiled is a must. It greatly effects your stride, pivots, backward skating, cross overs, stopping power, everything.
Great series Coach. I don't think people realize how little bit of blade is actually in contact with the ice at any given time, making that little bit of blade that much more important. I certainly didn't until I came across this. Love the videos, very informative. Looking forward to new ones.
Thinking of doing SAM on my blades. I have a custom 13'-29" rocker as is on a true two piece. Cannot stand the stock goalie profile as a player who went to net.
I have a 7 year old who is great at ice hockey but like you mentioned nine the video spins out and sometimes falls for no reason now. I am in Niagara Ontario and places arou hamilton or burligton ontario to get them done?
@@CanadianEdgehello, my son just got a new pair of skates. 10 years old squirt. AA Level skater. He has trouble with his power turns, outside edge stumbles/ spin/ out or losing speed. We would like to get his skates profile through you guys, what steps do we need to take to work with you guys? We live in Minnesota
Cornett's Source for Sports in Oakville has/had a ProSharp profiling machine. If they've gone out of business just look for a place that has ProSharp equipment. Any really talented skate sharpener can do an excellent job, it's just finding that person that is the problem.
Look for someone locally if possible. This isn't rocket surgery. Look for ProSharp profiling. Looks like they got bought by Bauer. If you do get your blades profiled by this channel, by shipping the blades to him, try to take the blades as soon as you get them back and trace the curvature onto a piece of paper for your records. At least that way you have a record of what's going on so if you ever hit the sweet spot you've got it written down.
TY for that 9 prt seminar, I've learned a lot here. CagOne Antronix will be in my shop next season. Have a question though.... If I can afford to only buy one,... Should I choose the profiling or the sharpening machine.... Can a profiling machine do both?
Got new skates and have had very serious shin splints after a few games..Feels like I'm leaning forward on the blades. What causes this? Can a proper profile correct it? Been playing hockey for over 30 years and never had this issues. Thanks for your reply..loved the video. Very informative.

100%
Excellent and clear demo of profiling

Great information. Thank you
What profile was on the blade prior and what was used to correct it? Thanks for posting!!!
Do you use 2 separate machines? 1 for sharpening and another for profiling? Or does 1 machine do both sharpening and profiling?
Where is your shop located?
Seems to me a new set of runners are in order here. Not much blade left to profile.
Yeah. It doesn't make much sense to profile runners that far gone.

Sorry not sure about places there. Let us know if you would like to ship them to us we will take care of them for you.

Thanks for watching! They are completely different machines.
Do you recommend profiling blades for Marsblade holders too? Thanks
Yes we do.
What age should one start profiling?
I’m thinking of profiling my 10 yr old daughter.
Not sure if I should profile my 8 yr old daughter
Thank You 🙏
You can profile skates from as small a size as Yth 10! Always a good idea to profile!

Same here I played last night and find my body constantly leaning forward but in my situation my lower back is hurting me.
Yes a proper profile can fix however we would have to have a look at your skating posture first. There may be a mechanical problem there as well.
My Kid is 9 yr old playing at AAA level. He wears a size 1.5 skate. What are the best profiling options him? I was considering the Toronto 7'10'.
We would have to see a video to be able to give a recommendation. We do not profile any skates without seeing the player skate first.
The old fashioned ryan
New skates with new blades are desperately needed here.
