  • Georgie Newbery, flower farmer and florist, cuts 1,567 stems to create an amazing wedding in the walled garden and orangery of grand old country house ‪@elmhaypark1511‬, part of ‪@orchardleighhouse‬. Using a bespoke structure created by Nathan Shaw of @floralfabrications (see his instagram for amazing Inspo!) she and her team create the most beautiful frame for a Chuppa for her lovely bride who's been waiting for three years for this wedding because it was postponed and postponed through the pandemic.
    See what Georgie cuts, how she keeps herself cool, clever tricks with ribbon (inspired by ‪@chapeldesigners3467‬ Holly Chapple) and a brilliant speeded up film of how the team create the Chuppa.
    This is real fun in the sun with wedding flowers. Enjoy!

    Georgie, you and your team are amazing magicians and wizards with flowers! Such a lucky bride. With all your the ‘normal’ concerns with keeping your blooms fresh and conditioned you also had this massively hot weekend to deal with as well. You give your clients and subscribers such pleasure and joy watching you work..a heartfelt well done.

    Thank you so much for taking us through the whole process. I was wondering you said the wedding was 3 years in the planning, did you have to plant a lot of extra flowers this year to know that you would have enough flowers for this wedding? Also can you share if it was difficult to determine whether things would be blooming at the time of the wedding? Did the bride set her wedding date keeping in mind what would be blooming for her color palette? Sorry I don't grow flowers for weddings but I'm so curious about the things I asked about. I think this whole process is so fascinating! I actually was watching some of your previous videos when I got the notice for this one. You are fabulous!

      Well the wedding was booked 2019 for summer 2020 but the pandemic came along and it only happened last weekend x. I plan to be able to cut about 4000 stems a week (plus or minus depending on the season,) this wedding was 1567 I think x

    This was the fastest 15 min or so I ever felt but are local flowers foam or not great value for you money not only that but what do people see in those imported straight wired steamed things I just released looking at your local flower art you cannot buy this in the fancy pansy flower bent banana leaf type places
    I mean a wedding feels just homely warm with local flowers
    A funeral a simple coffin with local flowers on top what more do you need
    Local employment spreading local money no air miles and far better and more virility of flowers that no one else has great work ladies
    God bless

    • @theflowerfarmer
      @theflowerfarmer  2 роки тому +1

      our local flowers are always local as we grow most of them and only buy British grown when we order in extra - we gave up using floral foam a few years ago and find flowers are much happier in water - all you say is true x

    That was gorgeous. Do you not spritz your flowers with water to keep them fresh? Spritz yourself too - it works a charm to cool you down. From someone who has experienced menopause in hottest Africa.

      lol - yes we do spritz - ourselves and the flowers - these were done 10am, wedding ceremony 2pm, and amazingly they still looked pretty good when we did the take down on the Monday. x
