The movement for independence in Greenland has been growing for years, just as the whining by politicians in Denmark about the financial costs of retaining control of Greenland has grown louder. I do agree but I also think purchasing Greenland could provide huge benefits if the ice does come to melt in the coming generations. There are apparently a lot of minerals there which have not been fully explored. Anything that can make America less dependent on foreign countries the better
"Belongs to Denmark" might not be the best way to describe their agreements. The agreement between Denmark and Greenland allows Greenland to split from Denmark any time it chooses. One of the reasons it doesn't is because it only has a population of around 60K with a high percentage being poor. Denmark pays Greenland an amount equal to around 20% of Greenland's GDP. It's not easy to go independent if you are poor and financially reliant on someone. There's nothing wrong with the US making Greenland a better offer. Development could bring up the income and standards of living for the people of Greenland. Also, there could be more to gain for America than it costs us. The purchase of Alaska was called Seward's Folly at the time and it's now thought of as one of the best land purchases of all time.
@@justoldjoe9328No, it belongs to Denmark. They settled there can 950-1450 AD and again 1750 AD and the Inuits aren't technically the natives, but immigrated in waves centuries after the Scandinavians. It took me a long while, but I figured out what y'all's intro song was. I saw the video years ago and just put it together. Marble music machine is what I type in to find it. That is so awesome.
As an American - that’s a ridiculous question considering if we wanted to “take it all” we could’ve been doing that for the last 25yrs. Our corrupt govt would rather covertly overthrow govts and send all our tax dollars to places like Germany even tho it has the best or one of the best economies in Europe. As an American I would prefer we shut down 75% of our foreign military bases, stop sending all our money to foreign countries, make deals so that we do control the hemisphere around the USA in a strategic way, not in an economic or political way (maybe that’s impossible idk) and bring back all of our manufacturing from places like China. And the next time Russia invades Ukraine or Germany we just watch instead of getting involved because it’s not our business. That’s what most Americans want.
Trump is not talking about "taking" Greenland. He is talking about offering a deal. He has said that the people of Greenland should have democratic input. As so often happens, the story gets reported without full context.
Inclusive public schools is a blanket term that means trans ideology, but it also means acceptance of terrible public controlled schools, and it has an anti-Christian schooling bias as well as an anti-home schooling bias.
Since you are new to the geopolitical sphere: This is a straight forward answer as to why Trump wants Greenland, it is simply about raw material and keeping China / Russia at bay: ua-cam.com/video/Lv9qHzwsvfM/v-deo.htmlsi=Oc_BAvk4MNzGCgHb
Something that crossed my mind about greenland being inhabitable atm. If you expect it to warm up in the coming years, even if far in the future, the return on investment is priceless. SO much resource, so much land. No matter what price you pay, it will pay for itself. The odds of them selling it are not 0 now, but will be once it's fertile again
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. Love you guys! Here's hoping we see real change in 2025. I love those 8 principles at the end of the episode - turns out I've been living by those my whole life ❤

@01:33:36 "we have social programming" - how do some of these individuals get the money to open a bookstore/ buy a house - and then be able to work making a living doing this? How many of these individuals are artificially propped up by think tanks and etc.
Greenland: Did Trump specifically say that US need to buy Greenland, or did he say that (someone's) ownership of Greenland is important ??? Last time Trump talked about buying Greenland, my fellow Danes really wanted to keep it, even that having it comes with a cost. If you is reminded that you can loose a thing, you start cherish it a lot more.
Interesting point… I think this time he just said “ownership and control is very important”, and implied he meant americas ownership. Obviously we’re not going to invade Greenland and take it and he’s a businessman so everyone with a brain knows he’s talking about making a deal with Denmark/Greenland for them to join the US in some way.
@@WideAwakeHuman Denmark has just signed a contract non-negotchable for the next 10 years. US can now have/use 3 bases in Denmark. Not even the cold war made our government make that deal - quite opposite we didn't war NATO/US A-weapons on our soil Something is up..

I doubt that given how tuned-in Heather is on most matters. Perhaps she was just tee'ing up Bret's one line overview for those viewers not yet familiar with the term?
Whatever you THINK Trump is doing, its usually not what is actually going on. He’s a MASTER at creating deals and strategizing how to get them. Going after Greenland could have nothing to do with Greenland.
Lol, ok. Sure. The MASTER worked out the trade deal between Canada and Mexico that he's now complaining about. Maybe he should've mentioned border patrol the first dozen times they sat down with our ministers to hash things out. Maybe he didn't work out such a great deal for America after all? That would be saying something considering the fact that he was dealing with Canada's most incompetent, uneducated woke government in it's entire history at the time. Freeland for crying out loud. Our embarrassment of a former finance minister. That's who he lost to. Trump's 'strategizing' is akin to the logic used by a used car salesman. Get a grip.
yes, he is masterfully talking about some American imperial ambitions which do not affect a daily life of an American in the slightest, and America is talking about it, blindsided. Somehow America first means American elite business & control interests, not interests of everyday American.
"Since 1867, the United States has considered, or made, several proposals to purchase the island of Greenland from Denmark, as it did with the Danish West Indies in 1917. A 1951 treaty gives the United States much control over the defense of an island it once partially claimed from exploration." From wikiedia
I read through the comments, skipping the snarky virtue signaling, and found a single one referencing the state of lake levels & how it’s negatively affecting the ability to operate the locks. It seems any discussion on the canal needs to address this.
In 1867, United States Secretary of State William H. Seward worked with former senator Robert J. Walker to explore the possibility of buying Greenland and, perhaps, Iceland. Opposition in Congress ended this project.[62] Following World War II, the United States developed a geopolitical interest in Greenland and in 1946 offered to buy the island from Denmark for $100,000,000; the Danish rejected the offer.
Hawaii pursued annexation to the US, voted overwhelmingly for Statehood, and their first Congressional representative from the territory was Prince Kuhio. Queen Liliuokalani herself became a proud US citizen who flew the stars and stripes over her home. Hawaii is a State because the people of Hawaii wanted it.
After arresting half a million illegals, Trump might run low on jail space. Greenland likely has abundant abandoned military quarters. Not comfortable! Using them motivates self departures from the mainland. Denmark has similar issues.
I was thinking it would make a great island prison for our 30-40 million illegals and maybe lease out room for Western Europe’s, Canada’s and Australia’s illegals. I’m sure most would self deport instead of going there especially if we stop all welfare
The first few primes are close together. The distance between them increases for a while but reach a surprisingly low maximum between successive primes. Something about this is very counter intuitive.
Does anybody know if Bret and Heather spoke about solar panels? Looks like there appear papers about leaking heavy metals, solar trash etc. Is it really such a useful and priming technology, is it safe for people to live near solar farms?
Bret and Heather: “We are going to take a 13:17 point of view - the spirit of Christmas being what it is.” What a crock that is! Let’s look at the Christmas story. It is a fight to the death with evil! When a mystery of of evil overtook the world and it fell, it’s creator came into the world to draw its poison upon himself and die for it sins against Himself, its creator, and rise in victory over them. He came into it to suffer its outrageous hate towards Him, to save sinners from their own evil works, while judging evil for what it is - a contempt for all that is good, pure, beautiful and true - and destroy that evil utterly. That is the spirit of Christmas. Not taking time for a happy holiday while the wicked go their killing way. No. If you love the good remain joined in battle with evil. That child in the manger came to die and rise in triumph over a spirit that was and remains malevolent.
1:39:51 That's my Christmas Miracle right there. Child of Man speaks a truth into The World. (JRE & GGrumps also had commendatory offerings) Merry Christmas, thanks for the show.

The purchase of Alaska was called Seward's Folly at the time and it's now thought of as one of the best land purchases of all time.
Greenand has a lot of resources in its ground that can support a greater population. That means work for financialy. Stressed Americans and others.
How about people take care of themselves instead of crawling around in the gutter looking for drugs.
@@justoldjoe9328No, it belongs to Denmark. They settled there can 950-1450 AD and again 1750 AD and the Inuits aren't technically the natives, but immigrated in waves centuries after the Scandinavians. The self-rule was a virtuesignalling farce pushed by the US and communists. Denmark might sell, idk... But the US already has military access(NATO), US/EU companies get dibs on charters and Denmark is a close ally.
We don't really care what number of episode it is (even if it's a prime)...but we DO care what the topic is. Give us a hint. Love you guys.
It took me a long while, but I figured out what y'all's intro song was. I saw the video years ago and just put it together. Marble music machine is what I type in to find it. That is so awesome.
I as a German ask you: which part of the world is not of strategic interest for the US? Be free to take it all?
You wish 😊
Silly German. You're not a superpower, this doesn't concern you.
Yeah so, better watch out.
Inclusive public schools is a blanket term that means trans ideology, but it also means acceptance of terrible public controlled schools, and it has an anti-Christian schooling bias as well as an anti-home schooling bias.
In Australia small private Roman Catholic schools are popular for these reasons.
Where is the cat? Its always nice to have the host of the show on camera.
Merry Christmas to you both! 🎄
Merry Christmas to two special people. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom so freely. ♥️
Thank you for an enlightening podcast. And just getting to hear the calmness and sanity of two logical and humane people speak.
Merry Christmas. Best Ad read so far!!
Dang.... The argument against drags confusing children reminded me of Scooby Doo where they took off the masks ...
Love you both! Happy holiday and I look forward to the new year 2025 and all the good you will bring us ❤
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.
Love you guys! Here's hoping we see real change in 2025.
I love those 8 principles at the end of the episode - turns out I've been living by those my whole life ❤
By the way... Watch the movie "Greenland" to know what Trump was saying. His executive order during his last administration ensured JCOS are the only ones who can legally disclose the bad news.
Hanukkah
Question? Any insight on the Queensland Australia bio lab missing viruses??
Fellow Australian, I haven't heard about this.
@ look it up. It’s info I found from multiple sources but haven’t seen any more about…

America cannot allow an "independent" Greenland, bc it would immediately be controlled by China/Russia.
Trump mentioned US taking it
Interesting point… I think this time he just said “ownership and control is very important”, and implied he meant americas ownership.
Not even the cold war made our government make that deal - quite opposite we didn't war NATO/US A-weapons on our soil
Something is up..
Very true, but not sure "cherish" is the right word.
Excellent, loved the concrete insight. Merry Christmas to you all!
19:48 we love you guys so much! Thanks for being yourselves
I LOVE your banter. You are adorable. I'm so peanut butter and jealous. My husband completely ignores me. 😢
You're a monster
Smooth peanut butter jealous or crunchy peanut butter jealous?
@alex-internetlubber Crunchy. Always crunchy.
Ignore him for a week and he'll learn his lesson.
I love you guys. Thank GOD, the heavens, the universe, whatever, for you two. I Absolutely LOVE listening to these two brilliant people. Thank you for what you guys do. Awesome stuff
It is fairly obvious why you two get along so well. Merry Christmas
Heather had never heard of the Belt and Road Initiative? 🤔
I doubt that given how tuned-in Heather is on most matters. Perhaps she was just tee'ing up Bret's one line overview for those viewers not yet familiar with the term?
Why is it strange that someone may not have heard of something?
"I am not familiar with the belt and road initiative".... sometimes this podcast leaves me speechless.
@@bobibufi1389 its bigger picture stuff...
I always ask people if they know who Blaire White is? And tell them to listen to Blaire. Blaire explains the whole trans situation, honestly.
Great! It can also become our Siberia for recalcitrant politicos...
Borders get more firm in the nuclear age.
But they have been fluid in eastern Europe following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
How come we get commercials that were absents before... and so many... 😢
Let's trade New England for Greenland.
Heck, throw California into that deal.
Or just Brady
No, straight up buy Greenland. Then send all the illegals there. Then grant Greenland it's independence.
Dane here, it's a deal. Sign here, here and here.
Canadian here. Can we auction New England? I'll bid Quebec.
Merry Christmas everyone!
The first few primes are close together. The distance between them increases for a while but reach a surprisingly low maximum between successive primes. Something about this is very counter intuitive.
Merry Christmas
the first 6 mins about Primes is watching to really smart people in the act of 4 play lol really enjoy the show guys
I flew on KLM from Amsterdam to Montreal and as we passed over the west coast of Greenland I saw glaciers falling into the sea forming icebergs.
Heather: "You contain multitudes."
Beautiful!

36:29 "the strategic importance of Greenland - its location is ... obviously unique."
Does anybody know if Bret and Heather spoke about solar panels? Looks like there appear papers about leaking heavy metals, solar trash etc. Is it really such a useful and priming technology, is it safe for people to live near solar farms?
The farms give off radiation.
Bret and Heather: “We are going to take a 13:17 point of view - the spirit of Christmas being what it is.”
What a crock that is!
Are you also nervous about US influence in Taiwan?

@45:00 I can't believe that is the only reference you guys make about drones.
Sort of off topic, but not entirely. I was wondering why Heather didn't use ivrm when she got sick? Also, I just tried to look up the original Nobel Prize press release for when Iver won the prize in 2015, and it has been completely rewritten to omit any mention of it as an antiviral. Which I should have seen coming, but it still is a shocking statement of what they are willing to do! I really wish I had screen shot that. That's the biggest problem with the internet vs books, they can rewrite history in a quick minute.
There are still geographic frontiers, they just haven't been discovered.
