Sue, I have watched literally hundreds of videos on how to paint for beginners, how to brush, stroke, how to paint roses, wildflowers, buildings, etc., but not a single one comes close to being as careful and as detailed as you are in this video teaching about the kinds of brushes and how to use each one. You are unquestionably the best instructor I have seen on this issue.
Furthermore , I like everything about your approach: Closeup so that we can actually see how you load your brush, how you hold, move, and direct your brush. There is no waste of time, no self-adulation.
I will be looking for other videos by you regardless of the claims of others about their talents. No good to me in my efforts to learn unless their teaching is effective. Your instructions are superior. Thank you.

I have just starting painting at 74. I have watched three other videos this afternoon and found yours the most helpful. I like that you admit when something is not to your liking, showing how to fix it and tell us not to worry. I hope the person who wrote the negative comment has learned not to sweat the little things after the last year and a half we have had. It is so important to BE KIND. Our country needs to heal. Thank you.

It's close to Christmas and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your comments. It was a pleasure to make this video for you all. I remember how it was when I started to paint and looked at all the brushes and thought Oh My.
May the new New bring you Joy, Peace and Good Health and keep on painting.

I am SO glad that you don't have music, bells & whistles!
Infinitely better & more concentrated straight & to the point like this.
For the first time I think I was actually able to fully ingest & retain the info due to lack of distraction.
    Thanks!

Omygosh!!! I am in my 60's now and have owned and used all of these brushes improperly. I took oil painting lessons for over 25 years and never knew this. You are an excellent teacher as well. If there were awards for teaching videos I would put you in the first place. I haven't been excited to paint in a long time. Thank you. Oh... and do not listen to anyone with a negative comment. I painted on the wrap-around skirts that were popular in the 1980s. this would have saved me a lot of frustration and grief.

You are a great teacher. I am a beginner in acrylic painting (many years I used to paint watercolor, but I was a novice). After 35 years of teaching at a University, now I want to try on acrylic as my retirement activity. I like your video, since it gives me the basics about painting and the use of brush and color. I have seen many tutorials on UA-cam,. Your tutorial teachs me the fundamentals. I live in Boston, wish I was close to where you live in Canada, so that I take a face to face tutorial. Thank you.

Thanks so much! I have taken a few classes, but this free video was way more valuable to a beginner.

I very much needed what you had to teach. I am a little afraid of my brushes. This gives me lots of techniques with which to use. I would love to attend one of your classes once this pandemic is over and the border to Canada is open again. I am in Ste. Agathe des Monts in the summer.
