in college my dad did this and tested out of english 1 and 2!! i wish i would have done it but hey at least i’m doing community another thing that saves time and money is taking college courses in high school as a senior at your local community college!
This is very good advice. If you plan to transfer to another institution (say from a community college to university or to a place like medical school), be sure that it counts there too.
Yes, Clep out of your classes or at least take your pre reqs at the community college. But taking most if not all of your classes at a big name university is important if you are trying to be a leader such as striving for a position eventually as a CEO, CFO, COO, Vice president, etc. Most people in those categories went to big name schools all the way thru. I don't know many big money makers who Clep'd out. Also, you can go to the military for 4 yrs, and that will give you some money. Other than that, clep is your best bet. I wish I had of done that.
@@kay8797 You have to check with the advisor, but I think all CLEP courses are ok except the science ones where you must have a lab. In CLEP obviously there isn't a lab component. In America, almost all science related jobs will require labs with your sciences, they may not hire you if you don't have the labs. CLEP chemistry, for instance, only works as a filler class for majors other than science related like a Business or Finance degree, for examples. But going to med school, I wouldn't CLEP on science but other courses.
Darn, I'm graduating this year. I wish I would've known what college credits even were. BTW, Early College/Early Admission (Dual Enrollment) is also a great opportunity to earn multiple college credits. So, highly recommend it. As a low-income student, not many resources were given for me to succeed. I hope this finds someone like me and provides the opportunity and knowledge to succeed. Thanks!
finishing those credits early is great!!......... until you realize you blew out all your gen eds and electives and now you're left with your hard science courses but if you want your scholarship to pay anything you have to take 12 hours (full time student) so you have to take 3-4 upper division sciences simultaneously. Just food for thought.
Yeah. A pretty good approach would be knocking out 50% of gen-eds with CLEPs and taking the rest to boost your cGPA. Also, check if the amount saved using CLEPs is greater than the potential scholarship you're receiving. My scholarship is quite small(only 2k a yr) and each class is 1.2k so it'd actually be worth it to take the gamble.
I took a CLEP once. I never took out a student loan. I mostly worked during the day, then took night courses. It took me a long time to graduate, but I was debt free! My last two years I received scholarships because my GPA was 3.5. I also taught in a pilot program. After I earned my BS in computer science, I was awarded a 4 year scholarship to get my Masters. I will never attend college again. Anything I want to learn, I get books and learn it myself! It is a shame how students are taken advantage of today. Must graduates cannot even find a job in their field of study, after they graduate, because H1-B visa foreign workers, and other foreigners are allowed to work in the US, thus taking those jobs. This leaves our students in debt for most of their lives!
That’s because most students are average. The average GPA is a subpar 3.0-3.1. I just graduated with a BS in neuroscience and got hired within year for neural imaging at a research facility. You want to get a job after you graduate? Stop being average.
@@good-tn9sr Nah I study at a uni, and it's a pretty big one here. But I think Education in Jordan and the parts around it are cheaper than some other countries
The same US History, English, Spanish you are taking in high school are the same ones in college. Keep your notes so you can refresh your memory before CLEP. Sometimes you can use work experience to get college credit for a class. Look into tech schools that offer core classes, (they're usually cheaper than colleges) just be sure they transfer to the college you want to attend. As a transfer student you are not required to live on campus. I want to sit for the CPA (certified public accountant) exam but I didn't want to go another year (MBA program) and pay all of that out of pocket ( you don't get financial aid after your 1st bachelor's degree.) I asked my advisor how to get there more creatively. she told me to double major. It was just 3 classes more and I'm able to start taking the CPA exam the day after I graduate. Which is in 4 short weeks! In 2 1/2 years I have earned my bachelor's degree in both accounting and finance. I wish you all the best.
I did not pass. Missed it by 7 points this time. I think i would have been more successful if it wasn't timed. But 1min 20 seconds per question to remember formulas and do the math. 2 times I tried this Chemistry Clep..When almost doesn't count.
@@teambordercontrol4799 yes. I missed it by 6 points. For me is what difficult because the test is timed. And I guess I'm just not that fast at math. I'm taking the classes now and getting ready to complete it Dec and so far I am making a 100.02% in chemistry class. I learned so much trying to pass the Cleo it made the class super easy for me
If you a business major teach yourself about the industry you want to go in. If you are creative I would avoid college No one will pay you what you would pay yourself. With people unmotivated it dosn't take much to have a decent business. I am 21 and have had 3 businesses while im in college what i do might not be best for you but its possible. I dont plan on finishing my bachelors most of what they teach is outdated or uneeded at my college. Why get talked to like ur less than a worker if your planning on being a boss or already are.
In my Country, Education is almost FREE!! I can't believe it takes 900$ for 3 hours of studying in the US. That would be a very large amount of money if it were here in the Philippines. 300$= P15,000 for just 1 hour tuition😱
I would like to see your photo. How old are you. What is your job. Am sure most students who watch your videos graduated because of you. Keep up the great work man, you’ll be blessed if not already

finishing those credits early is great!!......... until you realize you blew out all your gen eds and electives and now you're left with your hard science courses but if you want your scholarship to pay anything you have to take 12 hours (full time student) so you have to take 3-4 upper division sciences simultaneously.
Happy Teacher's day bro
you are a blessing
They allow foreign workers to keep wage costs down.

Such inspiration
I'm in the most expensive college in my country but it costs about 2000$ a semester, I gasped when you said 12k a sem O.O
*laughs in free education*
You can always go to a state or local college for $3k a semester. If you wanna go to a bigger uni it gets more expensive.
@@good-tn9sr Nah I study at a uni, and it's a pretty big one here. But I think Education in Jordan and the parts around it are cheaper than some other countries
@@linahussein8185 ye I study at a uni as well and I was talking about America.
Should've posted this video six months ago! Took three classes this semester that I could've done clep for instead........... great.
This is astounding
I just put this in my watch later so when I get to college i'll come back and watch it (currently a sophomore)
Passed my Bio 1 and 2 with Clep. Currently working on Chem 1 and 2. Took it once missed it by 10 points. But am taking the test again in a few months.
I did not pass. Missed it by 7 points this time. I think i would have been more successful if it wasn't timed. But 1min 20 seconds per question to remember formulas and do the math. 2 times I tried this Chemistry Clep..When almost doesn't count.
@@Creativeisme8 Have you made another attempt yet?
@@teambordercontrol4799 yes. I missed it by 6 points. For me is what difficult because the test is timed. And I guess I'm just not that fast at math. I'm taking the classes now and getting ready to complete it Dec and so far I am making a 100.02% in chemistry class. I learned so much trying to pass the Cleo it made the class super easy for me
@@Creativeisme8 Remarkable! Best regards to you in your future endeavors.
@@teambordercontrol4799 thank you!
thank you for the advice
I love these
If you a business major teach yourself about the industry you want to go in.
Save your money and get a skilled trade.
17 and want study Electrical engineering, this is great information.
Community college should also be suggested
In my Country, Education is almost FREE!!
I can't believe it takes 900$ for 3 hours of studying in the US. That would be a very large amount of money if it were here in the Philippines.
300$= P15,000
for just 1 hour tuition😱

This is great advice EXCEPT most people can't self discipline, thats why people go to school in the first place.
I would like to see your photo. How old are you. What is your job. Am sure most students who watch your videos graduated because of you. Keep up the great work man, you’ll be blessed if not already
Didn't really know about this, had only seen AP courses in highschool that was pretty similar to this. Was expecting his method of saving time was going to be to take like 18-20 credit hours a semester lol
Tiktok brought me here, imma watch this everyday.
I love you so much you have no idea
Thanks
Really nice
I just love you
Good video!....I don't think that would work here in Canada :( especially if I'm studying Biomedical Science.
