I grew up fishing in a similar 16' lund. I'd spend all day on the lake fishing every nook and cranny of the lake chain. I could even take it through this very narrow and shallow channel into the northernmost and smallest lake, something even slightly larger or heavier boats couldn't do. My parents still have the boat and next spring it's coming home with me for a few retrofits. I hope the early 80's minnkota still works...All I have to do is grease the wheel bearings and get new tires and it's ready for the trip.

Nice boat and performance under the prevailing circumstances, though I'd like to recommend one thing in regards to safety. Attach your lanyard safety cord to your lifejacket not your wrist, as it may detach from your wrist. There is s specific latch on the lifejacket for that precise purpose I'm a huge fan of boating and safety myself, have been for over 30 years, but safety comes first my friend.

I just bought one of these boats today a S14 . 20 inch transom, I have a 1 year old Honda 9.9 long shaft and I go myself and just changed my prop to a 3 blade one pitch higher. I downsized from a S16 which I was getting 13 - 14 mph with. I can't wait to see what I do with the smaller boat and the different prop. This boat looks tiny compared to my 16 hoping it goes like crazy. I am so curious what size motor is in the video looks like it could be about a 20.

I’m fixing up my 1970 lund S16, exact layout and colour. I’m not doing carpet and storage compartments just rebuilt transom with new mercury 40 hp tiller and a couple comfy seats. I was happy to watch your vid, cool boat.

Might want to make a cheap fin for your cavitation plate. It would cut way down on the pounding. Boat would behave much better.

what year is that boat, what hp is that, and whats the top speed on a clear day? I just bought a 14' lund that looks exactly like that.
