I was an 88M is Afghanistan back 06-07. I still have dreams of being on convoy. Still experience roadside stresses to this day. I feel like a piece of me is missing since I retired. Thank you for your service brother.

I was a Carpentry/Masonry Specialist in the U.S. Army during the 90s. My first deployment was to Miami, Fla. following hurricane Andrew. We built tent cities and cleared debris from the streets. 🇺🇸

In 2005, I was deployed to ISAF HQ in Afghanistan with the Danish DCM-COY (Deployable Communications Module Company). We we're a NATO-unit and the only DCM in Denmark. Our mother battalion was the 1st Nato Signal Battalion. So we deployed in the NATO HQ, while the rest of the Danish detachments were in (Danish) Camp Viking inside the multinational Camp Warehouse (a few kilometers from us in Kabul) or in Camp Helmand. Our job was to provide all communication - from desk phones to satellite video conference calls between NATO HQ's.

I was an 88M, toured in Afghanistan in 2011. Drove PLS mostly but also drove the fueler. I had a little different experience, I was in a smaller support team for my squadron (1/2 cavalry regiment) but very accurate depiction of it. My favorite thing to deliver was mail, rarely did it but very rewarding.

Informative video...I worked at a transit center sending military personnel back to the USA...checked bags and scanned military personnel.

Kinda cool that you got time outside of the wire. I wouldn't have thought you would with that mos. Interesting!

Here’s an interesting video idea: life in a unit that’s non-deployable.
