- What is 88M AIT like at Fort Lost-In-The-Woods?
Monday-Friday
0400 wake up
0445-0500 first formation
0500 PT (cardio 3x week)
0600 ish chow
0730 Trans
0800-0830 ish Training starts
1200 chow
1300 training continues
1700 back to the company
1730 ish chow
2000 final accountability
2100 lights out
Saturday/Sunday
0600 wake up
First formation, chow will vary
If you get pass it will be after lunch chow
Usually 1300-1700
Please get back to sign in BEFORE 1700
Contraband rules still apply
Don’t be stupid with your phones when you do get that back (Friday after training until Sunday evening)
STUDY YOUR RED BOOK!!!!
Nothing is on the test that isn’t in that book
Keep reviewing it whenever you have time
Ask questions and get in as many reps as possible

phones and computers. sheesh. 64c from 1984. was self paced from a book when we were introduced to the CUCV & jeeps up to the 915's. Picked up my 88m in Germany when our HEMTTs were delivered.
It’s definitely changed a lot, even just 10 years, let alone 20+ from what our instructors talked about. A lot is on the units and specifics SOPs instead.
06 Truck A-company 1998. AIT was a cake walk.

@absfitlife all open book testing. No laptops or tablets. I didn't see any reason for failing the written test but some people did lol. Like I said, AIT was a cake walk and I was over 32 years old when I hit basic training too lol
@joeordile7657 oh dang!! lol our was on the computer BUT no open notes or open book, nothing like that. I think 5 ish people failed the first go and then passed on the 2nd attempt. We had some hands on tests as well with a matching paper test before the final

@@Archangelactivewear I highly doubt any other companies allow you to have it during the week during training (past fatal accidents) I would guess most have the same type of structure for the weekend. Especially since you get pass and need your phone to get around base (pay taxi, etc) I was in Charlie

So im just really nervous and home sick a littel. I know we get our phones and. Does time just fly by. Also what is there that i can do to just prepare myself. Im just so worried about the test both paper and truck test.
Hey! When you get pass on the weekend, use it, enjoy the time. Walk the PX, go bowling. Get some food. That is always a good way to feel ‘normal’. Time does go by pretty fast. Lean on your roommates if you need them. RED BOOK!!! STUDY YOUR RED BOOK. You get so many practice reps with the trucks. It’s weird but just do as your told. It’ll work out. If they ask who wants to go again, do it! Ask questions
What was it like for prior service while attending ?
What if i already have my CDL?
Prior service probably has an ‘easier’ time, only because you’re already use to the military way of things. But it’s still all the same training.
From what I’ve seen, if you have your CDL you are able to ‘skip’ some of the training but there’s still a lot you need to go through.
So since I got Cdls already would What would happen do I got to do the stuff over
I saw one guy skip part of training. He started with us and within a few days when they could get things together he got moved to a different company that was ahead of ours

Are they giving you something to take to dmv to get your cdl?
I’m still waiting on my license at my unit, so I’m not sure yet what paperwork you get/is needed to get the CDL … check on your states DMV website
Hello. Do you get CDL after training?
Not directly. Fort Leonardwood is not a licensing ‘facility’ but it makes it easier to get your CDL when returning home/going to your unit

Congrats on making it through BCT!! If you’re a hold over like I was, you’ll have your phone that entire time. ONLY IN YOUR ROOM. You can’t go to the DFAC with it. Once training starts, phones are turned in. You get them back Friday evening after training and turn them back in Sunday around 1900

Hi. Does AIT have reception like bct or you start righ a way ?
It’ll depend. Some classes may be able to start right away. My class had a week where we didn’t do anything. Graduation from BCT -> next day we moved right into our new company, then sat in our rooms for a week before starting. Had our phones, but that was it. We didn’t get our gear until during the first week. But it was just ACHs. (It might change depending on MOS)
@absfitlife I'm 88M going to ft leonard wood my ait is 6 weeks just wanting to know if am going to be there for 6 weeks or longer
@marwankareem477 could be 6 weeks could be 7 depending when your class starts. But that last week… doesn’t really count in my opinion, I graduated on a Wednesday. And you’re just prepping to leave at that point

@marwankareem477 hey!! Pre workout will not be allowed because of caffeine. You can’t have any during training days. As far as vitamins it will depend on the company you’re in. When you get there, you will be able to ask, and should be told, what you can have. And when you get your first pass and go to the PX you can then purchase that. I had to get a note from medical allowing me to have fish oils and airborne gummies

@@absfitlife good the drills seem chill I did basic here too so I expected similar things but we are learning new stuff like chow formation 😂 I also have to say senior drill sergeant to any sfc drills oh and they made me PG first day 😂
@dailylifewithsteve4460 hell ya!! Yeah learning the little changes is rough at first but it evens out real fast. Congrats on PG. I was APG for the last 3 weeks and got the leadership award at graduation
this chick definitely that one girl that cries during every run making 10 soldiers crowd around them for help lmao
