I enjoyed this very much. Clearly told and lovely surroundings. I’ve read Murder in Coweta County and seen the film. I’ve also read another book called ‘From the farm to the electric chair’ which is interesting and paints another, very different picture of John Wallace, his guilt, trial and execution. So I am now disappearing down the rabbit hole. Thank you and I’ve subscribed.
Mercy that John Wallace was some kind of evil. Be sure your sins will find you out. He thought he was above the law. I'm glad that one sheriff didn't give up an made sure justice was served.
My upcoming book, “Moonshine Over Georgia,” is based on the recollections of my grandfather, Revenue Agent C.E. Miller. He was investigating both Wallace and Turner over a year before the murder took place. And, as testified to by Wallace himself. Had a midnight meeting with Wallace 10 months before the murder, wherein Wallace tried to order my grandpa to “run Wilson Turner out of the state of Georgia.” Happy to share an audiobook sample if you’re interested.
Is it possible to see the place Wallace lived at the time of his execution? Or any of the places like the Sunset Tourist Camping where Wilson Turner was caught? just curious, we watched the Murder in Cowetta County the other night after seeing a young actor that looks like identical to Andy Griffith. That movie is Chesapeake shores. We got to talking about Andy after seeing that young man and then recalled the movie. We are in Spalding County so it would be an easy venture to drive and see whatever we can see.
I remember seeing that movie on T.V and at that time was very powerful picture and just started rewatching it on UA-cam. I like to see Historical movies like the Life and Times of Judge Roy Beans and Bufford Pusser but the movies always leave out the best parts ie... the Towns, the community and real families affected. I wonder how the Public would react if some of the characters shin color would change to change the film perspective.

I had heard about the Kingdom and John Wallace but never saw the movie until recently. Amazing such a rich and powerful man was actually put to death.
Ron, Thank you for sharing the information you have gathered. We are all looking forward to more!
Loved the movie performances in this tragic story. Well done.

This wascso good thankyou
John Wallace ways caught up with him his arrogance and ego cost him. As the Bible says “ You reap what you sow”
I loved that move
Nice to see what you look like! ❤
I think the movie would’ve been better if they had used unknowns for the lead roles . Just my opinion.
