I have a pair of gloves that Jeff gave me at a late 90's Seatte Supercross. After that, I bought a KX and all the gear he wore. He was a huge influence on making MX a part of my life.
Thanks for this interview Don it’s great to see my heroes doing well and hearing what they have been up to. Definitely enjoyed the old stories they have to share
Always liked Jeff a lot. Got to see him race at Englishtown in Jersey. He raced the 125 class with Donny Schmidt and local Hero Barry Carsten. When the 500 Pro class lined up I was surprised to see Chicken line up next to Ward on the KX500 and what a treat! He gave Ward fits wringing out that monster like it was a 125… Great memories
Every time I see him at Perris he’s roosting the hell out of me. Proud of those post ride bruises. I was young but I rooted for him because of the hair and that Iguana ad.
I think you’re forgetting these guys rode 500 Two Strokes with open face helmets and no chest protectors! They have way more torque and roost than a modern day 4-Puke 450!
Dude nobody rode more 2 stroke open bikes than me ...maico factory bike in 81 crs kxs yzs rms...in fla sand..i rode a 2005 cr450 r that had everything...i had never ridden anything so perfect
Raced all of em open bikes...in the sand i could win agaist anyone hannah stanton on thw sand after 25 minutes that was it...if i had a 450 it was sooo easy..jumpas far as you want its not even close...my opinoon

Dudes a freaking legend!! Just got done watching some of the 90 season, he had the points lead most of it. Every race he was towards the front

Chicken is a Legend. As a kid growing up in the late 80s, the biggest question was always who had better hair, Chicken or Micky Diamond. 😅

Roost bruises from him are a badge of honor!

He didn’t have an open face helmet . But that 500 was nuts . He broke his femur in the whoops in an outdoor race . That bike is so gnarly
Nice interview with an awesome guy. Kind of short should have been way longer, definitely he has some stories to tell...
Man he's hilarious! I could listen to a lot more of his stories.
Ty for the time chicken! ❤
Man Jeff was one of my big favorites for sure, great talent and style! What happened to his voice?
Eating to much chicken. He’s got one caught in his throat!!😅🐓🐔
He was just sick
That was good, man 👍 It’s crazy he and Bradshaw never buried the hatchet.
@18:00 minutes in for the video title, if you are searching...
He has always done things his way. He was kind of Barcia before Barcia. He had no f@cks to give. Cool guy
my cousin said he used to go with Jeff to practice when he was on a 85. he worked at Vegland would get paid to watch him practice.
Who was he?
Was that Corbin ?

I never understood why his nickname was “chicken”?
He used to chase chickens when he was a kid. The neighbor kids used to call him chicken man . Over time it kind of evolved .
