What a nice young lady. I’m 66 and I remember watching her on the show. I too, just like Aunt Clara , had a door knob collection as a young boy. Yes, I was unique to say the least. I did have a real life Aunt Clara. I used to try and walk thru walls as a child. I was a kid; back when kids played outside and time was simple.
Erin is just genuine sweetheart😀People collect so many things why not door knobs😀So true about simpler times and playing outside for hours. Be sure to catch the other interview I did with Erin on Bewitched as well.

Wow I adore Erin Murphy! She's as sweet as she can be! I loved her as adorable Tabitha and now as anything else she may be doing! She certainly has some great stories from her Bewitched Days! ❤😊
Erin is such a good person and truly loves that she represents the Bewitched legacy. Don't miss the second interview I did with her where she answered fan questions, enjoy!
I have never heard that connection between fencing and acting but it makes total sense, and I love it that Agnes Moorhead told Erin that. I can see how the thrust and retreat motions of fencing practice would assist actors with body work, breath work and the kind of kinesthetics required for actors moving a round a stage and reacting to other performers. Acting is always about “reaction” and fencing has in it that sense of “forward” and “retreat”. Thank you Aggie from beyond the grave for teaching us all that!
@@ThatsClassicTVthe 70s revival was a disaster. I remember watching it at the time and thought it was bad even back then! Just dreadful! Lisa Hartman played “Tabatha” (wrong spelling they used)…. Please ask Erin next time why they didn’t ask her to play the older Tabatha back then? Or she may have still been too young in ‘77 to play the older “Tabitha” (correct spelling) …. But it’s a shame she didn’t do a revival being an original cast member and she looks so much like Lizzie. Perhaps they always wanted “name actors” to play these revivals but Erin would’ve been great.
@@lapislazuli7876 I think your right, Erin would have been too young. I can only imagine how bad that must have been. I really wish they had or would use Erin in a Bewitch spin-off.
Erin Murphy is absolutely adorable still! What a down to earth lady. Breathe of fresh air to see such a warm former child star grounded, grateful and NORMAL 🎉
I grew up in Australia with Bewitched and have a digital version of the entire Bewitched TV series. I do love it to this day and usually watch one episode per day. Bewitched is like my other family - pity the bewitched house will finally be torn down. Great seeing Erin on here and seeing her grow up slowly on the show. I am only 5 years older then her. Anything on the TV series or actors that comes to light i tend to watch. Erin thank you again for your contribution with other great cast members in being part of TV history and a dynasty of television - live long and may you prosper
First of all, love Oz having been many times! Erin is real and sweet as they come and an amazing person to carry on the legacy of Bewitched. I agree, I still catch an episode when I can and love it😀

Agnes Morehead was a hugely accomplished actress. She was part of the Mercury Theatre acting group originated by Orson Welles also had Joseph Cotton, Norman Lloyd, Mary Wickes, Vincent Price etc. Welles used her in several of his movies. She was excellent in a movie with Edward G Robinson and Margaret O'brien called The Vines Have Tender Grapes.
What an excellent interview. The human and interpersonal dynamic between interviewer and interviewee is rare. And how wonderful that Ms Murphy has become such a distinguished, elegant yet approachable person. A fascinating study about “when things go right.”
What a delightful woman Erin Murphy is. She is so nice and down to Earth. I loved her views on those she worked with on the show. It just confirms what's been said over the years, a wonderful cast, but also very nice people. I love it, Serena is more like Elizabeth. 😀 Well done! 👍

Erin is terrific! She carries the “Bewitched” torch in the same way Jimmy Page does for Led Zeppelin. My question: I heard a rumor that on the show they used real alcohol in all the drinking scenes and the cast would sometimes get hammered. Is that true?
It would be great if you would watch an episode of Bewitched with Erin, one she had a larger part in, so we could listen to her dissect the scenes and tell us what she remembered about that particular episode. I think that would be very interesting. I've noticed that some actors and actresses who had parts on other shows have started doing that on their own UA-cam channels. Judy Norton from The Waltons is doing it for example.
@@ThatsClassicTV I actually got to meet Kasey Rogers in 1999 at the 1st annual "Retro-Fest" in Santa Monica. Among the other stars there were June Lockhart, Angela Cartwright, Adam West, Frank Gorshin, Linda Blair, Brandon Cruz, Jerry Mathers, Sid & Marty Krofft, Tony Burrows, The DeFranco Family, Dr. Demento, Billy Preston (surprise guest) & Eddie Deezen, who was there to meet Adam West, but he should've had his own kiosk, since everyone knows that face & voice, even if not everyone knows the name. Still have lots of photos & autographs. I didn't live in the area & I wasn't able to make it a regular thing & don't even know if it became a regular event, but it was a lot of fun. Btw, I routinely suggest my favorite movies be added to The National Film Registry, which chooses 25 titles every December to be prioritized for being saved/preserved for the future. A lot of the titles one might expect are already on the Registry, but many of my personal favorites which I suggest (& some of which are very obscure or forgotten) have yet to be chosen & a few still aren't even on the browsing list of unchosen films for people to look through & suggest/nominate. The Registry doesn't focus on TV episodes, music videos or foreign films, but doesn't specifically exclude them, either. There really should be another branch of the Registry focusing on these, but I guess that will take some doing. The Film Registry began in 1989 & was instituted from a national law that was passed. Anyone who wants to can submit suggestions/nominations, a maximum of 50 titles a year, which must be at least 10 years old & have some sort of American affiliation (studio, producers, etc.). The other major criterion is each one must be "culturally, aesthetically &/or historically significant", which, of course, can be a very subjective description. The Registry is part of The Library Of Congress & further details can be found at their website. Perhaps if enough requests are made, a TV Registry can be initiated. There would certainly be no shortage of worthy contenders.
@@laustcawz2089 First of all, I am envious, what a line up of actors you met. Amazing. I would have loved to have been there. Interesting info. regarding the National Registry, I imagine it is near impossible for them every year to narrow it down. Very cool.
@@ThatsClassicTV Suggestions/nominations from the public do have a lot to do with what gets added. There have been campaigns for a while to get certain films on the Registry...the original "Robocop", for instance. When submitting titles for possible inclusion, it's generally best to cite whatever extra information you may have about the film, especially if it's not an immediately recognizable title. Helpful info. would also include year of release, director/producer/studio/writer(s), locations or interesting trivia to add to the film's legacy. For example, I love 1976's "Burnt Offerings" & it was actually the first movie filmed at Dunsmuir House & Gardens, which was later used in "Phantasm", "So I Married An Axe Murderer" & other films. A question: In a "Bewitched" rerun (that I think was run on Antenna TV), I swear both actors played Darrin in different scenes (time travel episode, I think). Did I imagine this?? My favorite "Bewitched" episodes, btw, include "Samantha's Old Salem Trip", "Samantha Loses Her Voice", "My, What Big Ears You Have" & "Allergic To Ancient Macedonian Dodo Birds". "Bewitched" also was groundbreaking in that it had maybe the largest supporting cast of revolving characters ever (at least up to that time, for a sitcom). The only other sitcom like that which comes to mind for me is "Night Court". Maybe also "The Simpsons" & "South Park". "Bewitched" was first, though & what's so amazing is that this could've easily been (in lesser hands) one of the worst shows ever. Everyone involved put so much into it & was clearly thinking way above the seemingly simple premise of "an average man marries a witch". I also love the creative catch phrases-- "Mustn't twitch." "Witch's honor?" & "Frank, I'm getting one of my sick headaches." Finally, another of Paul Lynde's roles was as the villain "The Hooded Claw" in the cartoon "The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop", which also featured Mel Blanc, Janet Waldo, Gary Owens, Paul Winchell & Don Messick, though Lynde asked to be uncredited, because he thought he might get some ribbing from the other "Hollywood Squares" (like anyone wouldn't know his voice right away!).
This is a great site! I grew up on all the classic 60's sitcoms I remember when Bewitched premiered ( which premiered exactly one year after The Patty Duke Show both on ABC Patty said she adored Elizabeth) Bewitched was a smash hit right from the beginning A stellar show with a stellar cast Erin is always so nice and down to earth in interviews Thanks for the great post I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Bewitched is the first color TV show I can remember watching. My aunt had a color set and I would watch in the afternoon. That would have been about 1969.
How does Erin have such strong memories from such a young age? She was only 2 or 3 years old when Marion Lorne died. When she was with Dick York on the show she was less than 5 years old. How could she have such clear memories of them?
I don't think you can find a cuter kid that is for sure:) Hope you enjoyed the interview and also saw the other episode I did with Erin on Bewitched. She is terrific in both. I think you already subscribe but if not please do so you can be notified when I release an episode.
Huge BW fan. Great questions. Interesting responses. Erin, I would encourage you and anyone else who hasn’t seen the first two seasons to do so. They are my favorite. Particularly Halloween from season two. To me, there is a different production and creative value and presents to the first two seasons. But of course, I love them all.

Erin Murphy "Tabitha" as we know her seems down to earth, and well adjusted. Next time ask her about her twin that was on the show, in the beginning!!! I am a child of the 1960's and 1970's and fell in love with the beautiful Miss Elizabeth Montgomery, its bizarre seeing Tabitha all grown up, as an adult, knowing the last time i have seen her, she was about 4-6 years old.
It is pretty crazy to see Erin again after all these years but she has grown into a beautiful woman inside and out😀 I am glad it brings you back to some great memories!
And she definitely has not changed that much, I can still see that little Tabitha Face, in her fully grown up face, and the way she forms her words, its just like little Tabitha, but only grown up, its really bizarre.
Hi Rob, thank you for wonderful commentary. We both sincerely love television and I am glad it comes across:) I think you may have already subscribed but if not please do as more great episodes are on the way.
What a great question about whether Erin felt a responsibility to the legacy of the show. She gave the perfect answer and I loved her follow up response. Another fantastic interview. I love that you give the conversation time to develop. This helps us really get a sense of who the celebrity is.
There is a scene - I can't remember the episode - but its with Dick York. Its the end of a scene and he is offering drinks to all the guests in the room. He asks Endora, and she responds out of character, "Thanks Dick" as kind and polite as if it was an after work party. Not at all how Endora would respond in character. She was a great actress though.
I would’ve liked to ask so many other questions about how Erin remembered her lines! It always amazes me how Tabitha would say her lines as such a young child. That is never asked and yet it’s something that would be difficult to get a child to do: to repeat certain lines or do certain things on cue in a show like that: all the nose twitching and hand waving and tricks, for example?
Really enjoyed this interview. I've only just discovered your channel this week. My sister and I were lucky to grow up in a time when all these shows were on TV. Keep up the great work! Ken (South Australia)

I been watching the whole series again and again and again
So funny but the series never gets old, I would agree.
What a kind women. Still watch bewitched. Best show ever.
Erin is as sweet as they come and truly loves carrying on the legacy😀
I enjoyed this as much as the first interview. Erin is a great guest.
My favorite seens with “Tabitha” is after she would twitch her nose, she would clap when she was successful. It was the most adorable thing.
I forgot about that, so true, absolutely adorable. I just watched the Jack in the beanstalk episode again and talk about cute😀
She seems like a really nice person...and very grounded.
@@vinniepelletier7891 Vinnie, Erin is very sweet and proud to be part of the Bewitched legacy!
It was an awesome insight in to Erin and Agnes Moorehead's relationship.
❤Erin is lovely, a smart little girl, so glad she is doing good. ❤
She really is and so kind and open when you talk with her. Just want to make sure you saw the first interview I did with her too.

Thank you! It was a great show! Be sure to check out the first interview I did with Erin as well on my channel, you will enjoy it😀
She's so delightful! I've always wondered what she thought of the short-lived Tabitha series from 1977.
She is a great woman. If I have her on again I will try to remember to ask her.
I remember Maureen McCormack being on several times.

Yeah little andora
Erin Murphy is absolutely adorable still! What a down to earth lady. Breathe of fresh air to see such a warm former child star grounded, grateful and NORMAL 🎉
Erin is special for sure in the child actor world, I think her parents kept her very grounded.

So sad for Dick York. But you and your sister were so cute on the show. I was a fan of Bewitched in French channel in Canada. "Ma sorcière bien aimée". I'm so happy to hear from you Erin. Thank you to "That's Classic" for allowing us to see and hear from you.
Thanks for your feedback. It is too bad about Dick York, that had to be rough. I will let Erin know what you sent. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed doing it. Please make sure to subscribe if you haven't already.

Great interview with Erin. Today was the first time I did a youtube search on her so I could hear some behind the scenes kind of info. I love hearing about life on the set that actors share. Erin is terrific! She carries the “Bewitched” torch in the same way Jimmy Page does for Led Zeppelin. My question: I heard a rumor that on the show they used real alcohol in all the drinking scenes and the cast would sometimes get hammered. Is that true?
Hi, I believe she addresses that in one of the two interviews I did with her. So be sure to check the other interview out on my channel 👍
Great suggestion, time will tell if we pull that off:)
The "Star Trek" episode is

I actually got to meet Kasey Rogers
in 1999 at the 1st annual
"Retro-Fest" in Santa Monica.
Among the other stars there
were June Lockhart,
Angela Cartwright, Adam West,
Frank Gorshin, Linda Blair,
Brandon Cruz, Jerry Mathers,
Sid & Marty Krofft, Tony Burrows,
The DeFranco Family, Dr. Demento,
Billy Preston (surprise guest)
& Eddie Deezen, who was there
to meet Adam West, but he should've
had his own kiosk, since everyone
knows that face & voice, even
if not everyone knows the name.
Still have lots of photos
& autographs. I didn't live in the area & I wasn't able to make it a regular thing & don't even know if it became a regular event, but it was a lot of fun.
Btw, I routinely suggest
my favorite movies be added to
The National Film Registry,
which chooses 25 titles
every December to be prioritized
for being saved/preserved
for the future.
A lot of the titles one might expect
are already on the Registry,
but many of my personal favorites
which I suggest (& some of which are very obscure or forgotten)
have yet to be chosen
& a few still aren't even on
the browsing list of unchosen
films for people to look through
& suggest/nominate.
The Registry doesn't focus
on TV episodes, music videos
or foreign films, but doesn't
specifically exclude them, either.
There really should be another
branch of the Registry focusing
on these, but I guess that will take
some doing. The Film Registry
began in 1989 & was instituted
from a national law that was passed.
Anyone who wants to can
submit suggestions/nominations,
a maximum of 50 titles a year,
which must be at least 10 years old
& have some sort of American
affiliation (studio, producers, etc.).
The other major criterion
is each one must be
"culturally, aesthetically
&/or historically significant",
which, of course, can be
a very subjective description.
The Registry is part
of The Library Of Congress
& further details can be found
at their website. Perhaps if enough
requests are made, a TV Registry
can be initiated. There would
certainly be no shortage
of worthy contenders.
@@laustcawz2089 First of all, I am envious, what a line up of actors you met. Amazing. I would have loved to have been there. Interesting info. regarding the National Registry, I imagine it is near impossible for them every year to narrow it down. Very cool.
@@ThatsClassicTV
Suggestions/nominations
from the public do have
a lot to do with what gets added.
There have been campaigns
for a while to get certain films
on the Registry...the original
"Robocop", for instance.
When submitting titles
for possible inclusion,
it's generally best to cite
whatever extra information
you may have about the film,
especially if it's not an immediately
recognizable title. Helpful info.
would also include year of release,
director/producer/studio/writer(s),
locations or interesting trivia
to add to the film's legacy.
For example, I love 1976's
"Burnt Offerings" & it was
actually the first movie filmed
at Dunsmuir House & Gardens,
which was later used in "Phantasm",
"So I Married An Axe Murderer"
& other films.
A question:
In a "Bewitched" rerun
(that I think was run
on Antenna TV), I swear
both actors played Darrin
in different scenes
(time travel episode, I think).
Did I imagine this??
My favorite "Bewitched"
episodes, btw, include
"Samantha's Old Salem Trip",
"Samantha Loses Her Voice",
"My, What Big Ears You Have"
& "Allergic To Ancient Macedonian
Dodo Birds". "Bewitched" also was
groundbreaking in that it had
maybe the largest supporting cast
of revolving characters ever
(at least up to that time,
for a sitcom).
The only other sitcom like that
which comes to mind for me
is "Night Court". Maybe also
"The Simpsons" & "South Park".
"Bewitched" was first, though
& what's so amazing is that
this could've easily been
(in lesser hands) one of the worst
shows ever. Everyone involved
put so much into it & was clearly
thinking way above the seemingly
simple premise of "an average man
marries a witch". I also love
the creative catch phrases--
"Mustn't twitch." "Witch's honor?"
& "Frank, I'm getting one
of my sick headaches."
Finally, another of Paul Lynde's
roles was as the villain
"The Hooded Claw" in the cartoon
"The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop",
which also featured Mel Blanc,
Janet Waldo, Gary Owens,
Paul Winchell & Don Messick,
though Lynde asked to be
uncredited, because he thought
he might get some ribbing
from the other "Hollywood Squares"
(like anyone wouldn't know
his voice right away!).

How does Erin have such strong memories from such a young age? She was only 2 or 3 years old when Marion Lorne died. When she was with Dick York on the show she was less than 5 years old. How could she have such clear memories of them?

Love the super-positive vibe you both have and the blend of wisdom about life with show-business lore.

Thanks Carol, when you are the main cast member left it is always interesting to me what that means to a person.
As I listen to Erin she actually still sounds the same as she talks in some way as a child in bewitched show. 😅
She kinda still does:)
Classic moment and Agnes Moorehead was an amazing actress!!
Hope a 3rd interview with Erin is in the works!
Definitely still a possibility:)
Fun questions, maybe if Erin comes back at some point…you never know

Although it's been 2 years since this interview, wouldcshe be c willing to to bring her character back back but in a better then the Tabitha show that had been on TV. Parden the pun, but she's still got that sparkle, and it could be brought to her location. Stayle and grace are so hard to find.
