- Опубліковано 8 сер 2024
- Do you want to improve your technical mountain bike climbing skills? Are you stumped by downed trees or rock ledges in your path? Check out this video and learn the key movements to help you get up and over those steps with ease. In this video Drew starts out with some basic body movements and inputs to the bike on a basic curb. It's an easily repeatable and easy to find obstacle that you can practice anywhere and will be the first step in learning the timing and moves to get you climbing up bigger rock steps and ledges. From there the progression ramps up to larger obstacles and then gets translated to some trail-like scenarios.
With these skills and some practice, you'll be able to conquer technical mountain bike climbs, increase your confidence and smiles all while impressing your riding crew!

You are quickly becoming one of the best MTB/eMTB channels out there! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you so much!
Wow UA-cam read my mind…
I was out riding today at my main place, and there’s this one technical climbing section that always gets me, and was thinking I need to watch some videos on this stuff..
Low and behold this shows up in my feed! Amazing tips!
Haha. Thank you and hope it helps!
Excellent tips as usual guys!
When he said you have to stretch before riding is something I wish I had practiced earlier. As someone who now has golfers elbow from riding mountain bikes I can’t stress this enough. Not riding your bike for a month or two to heal sucks…take it seriously.
Thank you very much Jim...Getting old ain't for the weak! Hope you're back on the bike feeling better soon.
Super helpful for east coast rock wall work. Thanks!
Awesome glad to hear it.
Nice video...... very clear explanation..... Appreciate the effort in making the video which i believe is very useful. Thanks a lot. Ride Safe!!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for taking time to say so.
So well explained, thx.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it b
thank you
Great sound, and filming- smooth.
Many thanks!
Thank you for this great content. I'm still new to MTB but loving it!!
Welcome aboard! WE hope it helped offer some advice to help you gain skills and confidence on the trail.
Really helpful video thanks for doing it. I think using a higher gear as you did was a good tip as I sometimes stop mid-climb due to hamster peddling!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for letting us know what you found helpful as it also helps give us more ideas.
Nice job breaking that down!
Thank you Jeff! Much appreciated. Look forward to our next road trip and riding! What you doin this winter?
One thing not mentioned here is that it looks like you actually push the bike forward with your arms at the same time you lift the back wheel on the slanted rock wall. I usually get stuck or crush a pedal into the rocks - I need to try this!
Good point!
Not to mention at 4:19 you would strike your pedals since you are doing so many revs over a short distance if you were in the granny gear.
That too.
😎
Is that the fezzari sal peak 2022 you'r ridning on? I wont one!!!
Yes it is. Very fun bike all around. Especially since you can choose the customization aspects for the build and price you want.
Would you be willing to share what park this is? I would like to work on skills off the trails in Bend.
Hey Chris, this is Sawyer park. We’d love to hear what you think of the area and obstacles for training!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the content of the channel and seeing Bend represented on the MTB channels on UA-cam 🤘🏻
Do it with a hardtail
Want #UpHillFlow get a #Class1 #eMTB
We like tech. Uphill flow is fun, but I’d rather have some challenges and feel thrilled to tackle them on the way up… whether I’m on a Class 1 or traditional bike.
You sale this want bro I need one bike like this my bro
A bit harder when you're riding on flat pedals.
Still 100% doable on flat pedals but yes, most definitely requires more exertion and slight change in foot "pick up" technique...But as I said in the video, being clipped in offers huge advantages in many scenarios, this is one of them.
Dude...2x15 seconds of adverts 6 minutes into the video. That's not right. If you want me to keep watching, reduce the amount of adverts.
Thanks for the feedback! We usually reduce/override what UA-cam automatically puts in there but seemed to miss this one. Appreciate the input.
