The fact that most of my family cant stand garlic and I put it in almost everything makes me think I am adopted signing off
Are your family members all vampire? Or are they from Romania?
@@SafiullahMollick idk whats going on. Louisiana folks. I can’t make sense of it with the heavy Mediterranean influence in our cuisine I am like live a little. I gotta find some garlic loving friends 😂😂😂
@@user-ii9xh5lz6u I thought Louisiana was all about that garlic and seasonings at least that's what I picked up from watching that Ralph dude cook lol
Garlic is the sauce 🫠
@@JoshuaJames604 it is I am also half Cuban so idk whats going on maybe I am adopted I had south indian and Philippino native america. Nigerian german french irish show up in my dna test 😂😂 I don’t have a clue
We make vegetables like this in Nigeria and kids don't have the problem of "not wanting to eat their vegetables". I've always taught "well why would they want to eat it? It's bland" when I see videos online from other parts of the world where they just chunk random vegetables into a bowl.
😂 I'm with you my sista, we don't have that problem in Benin here either
Nigerian girl here too🥹
Same 😂
That’s pretty much what happens in the US! A lot of vegetables are just boiled or steamed with little to no seasoning. Boiled spinach is the worst (but I love it when cooked properly).
@@soniccookie655 this is for a historical reason...we had the "greatest generation," and quiet generation, both grow up during the great depression...Cooking with seasoning, was impossible for $$ reasons. Plus, it would be used to mask poor/old ingredients
the colors of the vegetables are so much more vibrant this way-looks delicious!
So. THAT'S the trick! Thank you for another excellent short video! I've been cooking over 50 years and I learn something new from you weekly.
you can also use rice starch too
I love water blanched veggies. Less oil is better. Less inflammation. Which is bad for my arthritis 😊
Use olive oil, avocado oil and flaxseed oil
They are good for anti inflammatory..
Use coconut oil - it's a miracle Medium-Chain fatty acid.
Don’t eat vegetables, that’ll help your arthritis even more.
Wait a sec...And all of these oils (I'm assuming 1 @ a time 🤭) won't increase your inflammation?
*It's not only bad for arthritis, but for Fibromyalgia, too!
@@agbabon olive oil, flaxseeds oil, almonds they are omega 3 fat so they help to lubricate the joints and aid the cartilage so they are best for arthritis.
I got to make sure to keep oyster sauce, corn starch and soy sauce in the cabinets
...don't forget garlic to give flavour!
And hoisin sauce 😂
Sodium bomb
Yep! I live in Asia. It makes all the difference… trust me
Maybe you can try to find Kecap Manis with brand ABC as the name in asian store. I think it will change up your cooking game. It is an Indonesian sweet soy sauce and you can add it into everywhere. Fried rice, this sauce or anything just try to experiment with it!
I was basically raised on Chinese Cuisine&Im S0 glad u share Great Cooking clips&even post measurements with !Thank U &Bless u & your channel!
Very helpful I saw this over n over definitely gonna try it. Thanks for putting the measurements up too.
Wanna see what else u make now 😂
I like potato starch, it mixes in smoother & tastes less harsh
Duly noted!
Corn starch is industrial waste repackaged to consumers.
Good to know, we have family with corn allergies so that will help me convert this for them, thanks!
I don’t know how your videos stumbled on my UA-cam shorts but it was a blessing I love watching these and the tips are so helpful!
I want ginger in with my garlic
And longer time in the wok for the veggie, just a slight crunch when I’m eating
These are already blanched before they go in the wok.
@@SheilaR.08 and still really crunchy. Why correct someone who just said how THEY were going to do it?
I love your channel , it has helped me figure a couple dead ends out on seasoning and texture.
Please don't ever stop making videos. Your recipes are awesome and easy. I just love them.

Thank you for all of this. I am too poor to order takeout and this helps tremendously.
Mandy should do a special where she speaks entirely in Mandarin, and another special where she speaks Cantonese.
Thank you dear Mandy for sharing your wonderful videos! You explain not just how but WHY! You're a great teacher!
I have no idea how you ended up on my shorts, but I hate vegetables unless they're from Chinese takeout. I subscribed to your videos right away. Thank you!! 🙏🥰

I gotta try this!! Blanching before stir frying is something I hadn't thought of, but I'm trying to minimize oil in my food so this is a great trick!!
I'm trying this. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii
Hello Mandy!! Love your wok!!
Thank you so much!
"Stir until fragrant"
Is such an Eastern terminology. Chef Wang Gang uses it as well
Her English has improved so much ….I used to watch her earlier videos ….😊 her food always looks amazing ❤️
Thank you so very much for listing the ingredients ! I am so very grateful!
Great video as always! I love the vibrant green color of vegetables like broccoli when you blanch them

Your the best thank u I absolutely love love love Asian foods especially Chinese and Japanese and I want to make them at home healthier for my family! Thank u for your time
Mandy, you’ve helped
Me so much with my culinary skills in cooking Chinese type dishes! You’re the best!
Corn starch (arrowroot works too) is a very common way to thicken a sauce. A lot of people like it, but I’m not always a fan. It’s too saucy. I’m a dry gorl heh
I wonder if you could substitute arrowroot powder for the cornstarch and get the same result?
What is arrowroot?
@@fayemyles4942 Arrowroot powder is a white, powdery starch that’s naturally gluten-free, grain-free, vegan and paleo-friendly. It is extracted from the root of a tropical plant known as Maranta arundinacea. When the root is harvested, it looks pretty similar to cassava root, or yucca, so it's oblong in shape.
It’s used as a thicken in gravies and sauces.
Yep we use arrowroot powder in india too
Making this for the 2nd night in a row!😋
Might be the first actual good tip I've seen on UA-cam
YUM!!! As I watch this at 1:30 a.m. and everyone is asleep. My stomach is growling now. 😏🤔😋
thank you for the tip! You’re a so adorable ❤
Beautiful dress!
One thing to remember about starches like corn starch is that its heat activated. Aka, cook everything how you want it first because the sauce will thicken in about a minute.
Thank you for this tip!!
Thanks 😄 best way to make kids eat veggies

Love this tip! Never thought of that
Thank you for your tips and recipes. I find You so pretty and adorable.
The vegetables look so fresh and juicy!
omg it looks easy i will try it thanksuuu
Thanks mate.
I honestly think the reason why kids in the west tend to dislike vegetables is because they never season them right. It’s bland and soft, sometimes only flavored with salt or just eaten directly. I never understood why they were so hated until I tried them in school and realized how bad they tasted…at home the sauce always made it really good, and I loved the texture.
Seriously never understood why people hate vegetables. I'm indian and we make them so flavourful..
You are the Best on UA-cam!
Thank you
Has been a part of my cooking for years. I use it where ever flour is asked for to thicken.
*We call this dish "Chopsuey" in the Philippines.*
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
We LOVE your recipes!!!! Soooooo easy to follow and so delicious!!!!!
A big thank you from Oregon ☺️ yum.
Sounded so crunchy!! Good goood!
So cool!!!
Only way to make broccoli taste good I guess
I see from the comments, that potato starch and arrowroot may be good replacements for cornstarch.
Thankyu for giving information at the start of the video
Woowww I feel you so much, ur journey in uni is similar to mine and sadly to most of my uni mates:(( because u have to choose our path at the age of 17/18 and stick to it as ur parents pay for it and god u can’t just quit, then at the age of 21 u are a slightly matured version of urself 4 years ago who only knows how to study, be a good student and listen to ur teacher:(( that’s how it is in a typical town in Russia
Well done you 💕 seems you are trying your best to become an educated and well behaved, kind and thoughtful adult. Honey I send you good energy and lots of Love and good health! All the best, from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦❣️❣️
Used the sauce on some broccoli and I must really say thank you LOL, because I struggle with eating vegetables and I was able to do it with your sauce 😁
The best food in the world!
Leaves the veggies with a nice bright beautiful color too!
I’m to lazy to blanch 😩
Steam them.
Me too!😂
Microwave them. That’s what I do.
@@Carey86 great idea. probably much quicker.
Seeing her using metal spoon with wok. 👀
Me:Uncle Roger enters the chart.👁️👄
Uncle roger:haiyaa!! 🤦♂️
Metal utensils with a good wok are traditional. A chan or chuan which is a spatula style spoon and a ladle are very common metal utensils and I always use them.
Very good.!!!
Looks so pretty and colourful! I wish I had a wok. I'm positive it makes a difference! Anyone else agree? What really is the difference between a wok and a simple frying pan?
I think the lesson in this is get yourself an Asian wife.
best cooking veg & tasty too 🤩
I like to go easy on corn starch, and mostly use potato starch instead.
It holds up to higher temperatures while cooking.
Potatoes are good for your gut. Good for digestion.
Your videos are awesome. Love to watch u dishing out easy recipes. Tried it and loved it❤
Your wok is my go to pan for everything. Many thanks for improving my cooking so much.

Add some.. onion and tomato too after garlic... Taste will enhance
Thank you..always trying to get my kids excited for healthy Vegs...❤
Thanks for this. I use lemon pepper a lot and seasonings like that. I'll try your method.
That just makes the sauce thicken as well I use it in everything

Great show thank you Mandy. Have a great day
Yummy, i want some❤ I can imagine the wonderful flavors
Known of the bi carb meat tenderize technique but your shorts remind me to use it all the time. It also makes the sauce stick better to the meat!
I don't know what corn starch is, but I add salt in the water, then garlic and onion in the oil/butter and seasoning (pepper, chilli powder, salt usually). And grate cheese over them at the end.
Thanks for the tip
I just steam them and they taste phenomenal
I've decided I definitely need to get a Wok!
