I love your videos! they are the only ones I always watch when videos come into my feed :) I must say I disagree with I'm a fan, I really didn't enjoy it and found it quite repetitive, but the road is just fabulous, I read it one sitting on an airplane home and I loved the writing style, we can't all love the same books but that's the joys of talking about it! have a wonderful new year kat !!

Foster hit me hard as well. Probably harder than Small Things Like These. I related to the character so much, and that ending had me feeling things.

Miracle in the Andes is definitely on my reread list for 2025 as I know I liked it but it’s been awhile. Thanks for jogging my memory of how good it was. The road is in my top 10 of all time and I like Cormac’s writing (not thrilled with who he was as a human though). I Who Have Never Known Men is Amazing and one of the 1st books I read in 2025. Great list, I will definitely add a few of these to my TBR. Glorious Exploits was my number 1 of 2024. Love your videos!! 🙏

    My top 3:
1- The Seamstress - Frances de Pontes Peebles
(It reminds me a lot of Elena Ferrante and Isabel Allende, but make it Brazilian. Do I need to say anything else? It's simply perfect)
2- Frankenstein - Mary Shelley (what was that here? The first science fiction book, it talks about bioethics, abandonment, loneliness. Wonderful).
3- I Who Have Never Known Men - Jacqueline Harpman

Although I have not seen the Netflix adaptation, I saw a movie called Alive about the story of the plane crash in the Andes and I still think about it years after. I don’t know if it is mentioned in the book or if it is a liberty taken by the film crew but I vividly remember some members of team losing it after so many days and singing Happy Birthday to themselves even though it was not their birthday… I think I will add this book to my tbr, thank you very much for the rec!
